Looks cool,it’ll be interesting to see how they’ll bring Superman back. 🙂
I smiled a couple of times. True story.
Icky Thump!
This looks amazing.
Ohhhh myyyyy goooood. Looks great
And Aquaman looks like he means business.
Aquaman brings the village fish for food. That seems… oddly psychotic, for Aquaman. Generally, though, this first look is pretty decent. I will always be a lot more cautious when I don’t see Superman (I know they haven’t even shot his parts yet), but generally, it’s good.
Love the picture, even though I would’ve hoped for a new Superman costume (which may indeed be the case and they just haven’t got to revealing it yet).
Aquaman orders fish n’ chips in the New 52!
In the words of the great Spider-Man: “Don’t fish eat other fish! The marlins and the trout!”
To me this looks like crap. WB/DC do me a favor and sell Superman rights to Image or Marvel.
I agree 100%. Let Superman go to Public Domain so people who actually LIKE the character can have a shot at him.
There’s nothing stopping you from making fan fiction, as long as you don’t sell it. Go for it. You can have trunks and everything! Honestly, I’d be very keen to see what kind of story you write, if only because you make it a habit of implying you love Superman more than… everyone. I’d like to see if you can write a story on the merits of its craft. And I’m not being facetious.
He actually did a very good write up about Superman’s origins on the Homepage.
I’ll have a look. But I’m talking about fiction.
It was fiction. It was pretty good.
Whether I can or cannot doesn’t invalidate my criticism of Zack Snyder & CO.
There’s no parallel being drawn there. My point is in the first part of my reply. You’re not restricted from writing fan fiction. You want people “who actually like” Superman “to have a shot at him.” Those shots are being taking often in stories, illustrations, films, animation. As long as there’s no profit from it, there’s nothing stopping anyone from having a “shot”. Go for it.
What I meant with what I said was that people who actually like the character can have a shot at him along with the appropriate budget, production values, special effects, etc to go with it. Basically a big budget movie adaptation of the character done right, and all the prestige and pomp that goes along with a film release. I obviously wasn’t talking about someone writing fanfic online. But point taken…. I will post my ideas at the page sometime! 🙂
Image is a creator-owned publisher. The company doesn’t own nor buy any character it publishes.
You must hate Superman if you want to send him to Marvel of all places, have you not seen what they’re doing with all their characters?
Not ruining them in the movies?
The current MARVEL comics are terrible, but the MARVEL movies are to superhero films what the Bruce Timm animated DC series are to cartoons.
I liked how Aquaman and The Flash look. The film looks good. I can’t wait to see the reveal of Superman later on down the line.
So, Batman and his amazing friends with Superman out of action for most if not all of the film so everybody else can look good or worse, he’s the bad guy?
Looks awesome. Looks like a lot of changes have been made for the better. I think each costume looks absolutely awesome.
The trailer was terrible. As bad as BVS was, the teaser trailer, comic con trailer, and Jimmy Kimmel trailer for it were all excellent. The character interactions and acting from Affleck, Gadot, and Momoa in the JL trailer were all terrible. And although I detest Ezra Miller and Gal Gadot’s casting as The Flash and Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa’s “Aquaman” looks to be the worst part of the movie. Why even bother putting Aquaman in the film if you’re not going to make him anything like Aquaman? You can tell WB really hates Aquaman and has no idea what to… Read more »
Well Kel, I guess that’s where you and I differ. I happen to be an artist and fully believe in the freedom a director should have to take artistic license in whatever film they make. The only time I ever have issue with said freedom, is when the film is based on true events and its the director’s intent to misinform on what happened. Like if a director made a WWII film with the idea that the Holocaust didn’t happen and Hitler wasn’t responsible for thousands of lives. That’s unacceptable and irresponsible. Comic book movies on the other hand? Go… Read more »
Well Kel, I guess that’s where you and I differ. I happen to be an artist and fully believe in the freedom a director should have to take artistic license in whatever film they make. I too happen to be an artist and find it disgusting whenever a filmmaker sees the comics characters as blank slates to tell their own stories instead of stories about the characters. It’s extremely selfish and unfair to the characters, their fans, and their creators. I especially despise the attitude that anything Hollywood does is automatically always superior to anything done in comics or cartoons… Read more »
Actually looking at the hi def pic of the team together, that flash suit doesn’t look homemade. That looks lik the finished product. Which in my opinion looks awesome. Gosh Kel, guess you’ll have to deal with someone else’s interpretation. Of course you can always take Hypoxic’s suggestion and create a fan film of your own. then you can be happy in the KelDC universe! Yay! And we’ll all be proud of your accomplishment. I support you 100%!
It looks terrible. Armor and wires. A new low for comic book movie costume adaptations.
Wow… You know what they say about Haters… they’re either bored, lonely, broke, or all three…. I don’t know if you see this as your ‘online’ personality, or if your life is filled with that much negative energy that you can’t help it… but to seriously go on a rant of hate on every minor detail… It really takes away from any credibility. Reading through every diatribe you’ve posted on this thread let’s me know that I can happily ignore every thing you write from now on… the impression you give off is someone who is hating for the sake… Read more »
Oh and one more thing. Did I read that right? Did you just compare having Ray Fisher in the JL film to doing “blackface”??? Surely you can’t be serious.
No, I compared the casting of Jason Momoa, Gal Gadot, and Ezra Miller (and now Iris West), the color/race swapped characters, as modern day “blackface” equivalents.
Wow. That’s a new low, Kel. Even for you.
Wow. That’s a new low, Kel. Even for you. Why is it that hand-me-down characters from the white man serving to “represent” non whites is something worthy of praise to you? At least with blackface, shameful as it was, the actors were still turning themselves into the characters! So by that measure, even blackface was better than color/race swapping, in that the characters were at least unchanged. Why do so many accept the idea that drastic changes are fine so long as the moviemakers still “tell a good story”, without grasping the notion that some changes are at such an… Read more »
Let’s be clear, 1st let’s not turn this into a race thing, there’s absolutely to much of that already going on in the world as is, and I don’t want to see it on this page. Secondly, let’s all remember that a good bit of these characters were created at a time when blacks couldn’t vote or use the same facilities as whites, and we’re considered second class citizens in this country, so the fact that all the major villians and heroes are white, is not only by necessity, but was the only way they could get their books to… Read more »

When a character is race-swapped the inevitable response from some segments of fandom and the media is that this is “necessary” due to comics in the 1960s being hotbeds of white supremacy — while nothing… Read more »
What drastic changes, Kel? Skin color is only a feature of minor importance, simple adaptation to environment. It does not make somebody a different person, just a person of a different skin color. The concept of race was scientifically disproved some time ago. Unfortunately, it was also shown that our brains are racists, but we can fight these impulses if we want to. Granted, it is a change of a traditional image of the character, but it does not mean it must be a significant change of the character.
Why does The Flash need armor? I know WHY he and everyone else that doesn’t need it has it (like Superman, Green Lantern, even Wonder Woman, etc) Wonder Woman has always worn armor of some kind, even going back to her debut. Her bracelets are armor. They deflect bullets. She uses her armor for protection. There is nothing wrong with protection. With regards to Superman, he’s not wearing armor in these movies, so I do not understand why you are saying he has it. He is just not wearing tights. But Superman, not in these movies, has worn armor in… Read more »

There is nothing wrong with protection. Wonder Woman wore bulletproof bracelets as part of her costume, and that was it. She really doesn’t need armor of any kind since she’s practically invincible thanks to magic, and the occasions in which she has worn additional armor usually involve it breaking and getting destroyed because it’s unable to keep up with her wear and tear anyway. An armored suit on Wonder Woman is stupid.… Read more »
Wonder Woman wore bulletproof bracelets as part of her costume, and that was it. I agree she wore bulletproof bracelets. Wonder Woman’s bracelets are armor. Armor is something that covers and protects the body. Usually, it is made of metal. Therefore, Wonder Woman’s bracelets are armor because they fit the definition of armor. If it were not for her bracelets, she would be extremely vulnerable. KalWill, I agree with your comment about Cyborg and diversity, but I don’t think it is the only reason. They could do the same with Martian Manhunter (like in Supergirl). I would love to see him in JL – he is an awesome character, but with many similarities to Superman (plus his incredible shape-shifting ability!). I think that Cyborg is more interesting and relevant for young people, with their experience of being “constantly online”. The character will also allow to ask questions about technology and humanity – extremely important today, in the age of artificial body parts, brain-computer interfaces and… Read more »
That’s a good point. Although I’m willing to bet if they’re successful and we get a JL2, we’ll also see MM.
I hope you are right! It would be awesome.
Dude, not to burst your over inflated bubble but David Goyer and Chris Terrio wrote the screen play for BvS NOT Zack Snyder, he also didn’t edit the movie. So stop banging on that everything wrong with the film for you is Snyder when half the things you mention he only had a small amount of input in, if any. And if you truely believe that WB hate Aquaman and don’t know what to do with him, then honestly ask yourself why did they put him in their biggest superhero movie !!!!

Only…Aquaman isn’t in their biggest superhero movie. Jason Momoa is. That does not make sense. Jason Momoa was hired to play Aquaman in their biggest superhero movie. WB hired an actor that people take as a badass to help elevate Aquaman’s mainstream status from a joke to a badass. That may not be appealing to you, but it may be appealing to many others who like his look and what he will bring to the role. And even if all Jason Momoa brings is the same stuff he brings to every role, maybe that’s what this character needs to be… Read more »

People take Jason Momoa as a bad actor. I’m sure some people do. I, personally, do not have a problem with his acting. I also do not know anyone in real life that does. And there’s some reason why this couldn’t have been done with Charlie Hunnam or Alexander Skarsgard — actors who look like the character but are also “badass” — in the role instead? Did the Justice League/Justice League Unlimited Aquaman have dark dreadlocks, tattoos, and eyeliner? Did he not have blonde hair? Was he Hawaiian?
Other than having facial hair and “long” hair, I don’t see how Jason Momoa resembles that Aquaman (or any version of Aquaman) at all. If long hair and facial hair is the critique for Aquaman now, then Santa Claus could play him.
Then write him a letter and tell him that he is a problem and you don’t like his style. Problem…solved.
How does this cast someone better in the role? I don’t think it solves any problem.
No. What I meant is write up a letter of complaint to Mr. Snyder and express your opinion to him that you find everything he has done simply terrible by your tastes and standard. As far as I know, there is fan letter box where everyone can write up something to express their opinion. Just tell him you don’t like the casting. You don’t like the costumes. You don’t like the acting. Etc…etc… Consider yourself as a consumer who has purchased a product and after a short while, the product was not part of your satisfaction and how you wished… Read more »
So we’ll simply change the music in our head and listen to Metallica and Iron Maiden instead. (That actually rhymed pretty well.) There. Problem solved.

Why didu take da moshta back to da sitty?
Oida was labberst du fürn Schmarn???
Wait… did WB fire their “blue filter” guy? Or did their Adobe Creative Cloud subscription run out? This actually has color! Like, real, honest, warm-ish color!
About time.
I wasn’t sure what to expect. But it sure did convince me that ‘maaaaaayyyyybbbeeeee’ everything will be alright in the DCEU after all. Saw the wonder woman trailer as well. Looked fantastic.
This looked… AWESOME! Oh and Superman has a smile on his face… looks great so far!
They promised us a tonal shift, and I think they delivered! Also I’d like to add, Ezra Miller’s Flash suit, though the colors are a bit off, looks better than Grant Gustin’s suit from TV by miles!
But I see the “wah wah I don’t like it” brigade is already running full of steam.
^..and by that same token that would mean the “It’s flawless, true fans should like everything the WB puts out!” brigade is also in attendance? Superman is nowhere to be found in this trailer which doesn’t bode well IMO. There’s not even the slightest hint at his presence at all and the Justice League might as well be the Outsiders since they’re getting put together by Batman who is of course the most prominently featured character. Granted, this is just a trailer and basically a teaser one at that.Trailers can and often are misleading. However, I just really get the… Read more »
LOL! Matt, you beat me to it! I’d say this: you can’t blame people for being skeptical after the last two movies. WB/DC earned that, in spades. They know it, this shows it. Just like Rebirth did in the comics. I want them to fix it. But they have to actually fix it. If they do, I’ll be there. I’m buying Superman comics again, something I haven’t done since 2011 (and consistently since 2009 or so). I have the same reservations that Matt has.. but frankly, if Superman is barely in this movie and Snyder is gone from the next… Read more »
I’
I’d agree with that…
As for Superman not being in the movie much… We will have to just wait and see… I believe Snyder can bring him back in epic fashion… And no, I’m not a Snyder apologist.
Dude. Supes is comin’ back like a Boss. Just wait. Hopefully 🙂
I never said it was flawless… I said I liked what I saw so far. And I’m not on board 100% with WB decisions
It looks much worse. Gustin’s suit, while awful, at least doesn’t have plastic armor bits all over it, strung together with wire. His at least looks more flexible and “cloth-like”, like the suit is supposed to look….while Ezra Miller’s just looks like an abandoned concept from the 2009 GI Joe film.
This is a matter of opinion. I like the look… You don’t obviously… You just need to start accepting the fact, that filmmakers WILL NOT and at times CAN NOT translate directly whats on the comic page!
This is a matter of opinion. It’s not opinion, that isn’t what THE FLASH looks like. Carmine Infantino did not put The Flash in armor held together by wires and stolen NASA tech. He also didn’t draw Barry Allen as a guy that looks like an androgynous Asian girl. You just need to start accepting the fact, that filmmakers WILL NOT and at times CAN NOT translate directly whats on the comic page! I’m keenly aware of the fact that “flmmakers” WILL NOT take what’s in the comics and put it to film, but that they “can not” is an… Read more »
You do know that it’s a home made suit right? And you do know that he’s not impervious to bullets right? Yes he can move faster than the speed of bullets, but he can be surprised…so the armor makes perfect sense…but I don’t expect you to accept that because unless it’s not EXACTLY as your expertise thinks it should be then it’s crap
This is not a commentary on the look of the suit but I don’t think the Flash or Superman should ever be surprised by bullets. They can simply move too fast for a bullet to matter, no matter how many bullets there are. I get why the writers do this, but let’s not pretend it for any other reason than lazy writing and it being easier to write. (or the plot demands it, which is again, lazy) The breakout of Magneto scene with Quicksilver in DOFP is closer to how it should be with Flash and Supes, which is to… Read more »
I agree to an extent but we don’t know how fast he is or if he even understands how fast. They could also be there to help ground him from the lightening of the speed force? Maybe an armored suit enhances his abilities in a way?
We shall see.
What’s this have to do with armor? Wally Post Crisis could only move slightly above the speed of sound…..yet no armor was needed.
He has this “lightning” in his veins, he wouldn’t need armor to protect him from it…it’s what powers him.
Is The Flash The Atom now?
I agree that they probably have some reason for why, but it doesn’t mean it’s actually a good reason. But as you said, we shall see.
You do know that it’s a home made suit right? So was Barry Allen’s FLASH suit and ring in the comics. Your argument is invalid and just wants to justify Snyder’s ugly crappy “version” of the character that panders to the armor trend. And you do know that he’s not impervious to bullets right? You don’t know that he has a super healing factor and no bullet can touch him due to his super speed? Yes he can move faster than the speed of bullets, but he can be surprised… When he’s in The Flash suit, he’s kicked into “speed… Read more »

I loved the comic con trailer. Can’t wait for superman to join in.
Looks pretty cool. But then again so did BvS. But I must say its great to have Ray, Ezra and Jason on board. Gal looks great again as Wonder Woman and Ben Affleck seems to be looking less constipated and being little (little mind you) humorous. I do have a suggestion for Ben Affleck, dump the voice scrambler and learn how to act. I hope they aren’t pimping BatWonder fans dreams in the Wonder Woman/Batman scenes. I just want a pair of good friends working for a common goal. If I want to see a silly romance I’d watch one… Read more »
Technically it’s not even a teaser. If not for the backlash to BvS, we’d probably get a LOT less than a full 2 minutes (plus some) of footage that’s likely to undergo re-shoots and will be touched again in post for effects and whatnot.
Which is honestly worthy of praise; they know how to do marketing right and how to get on top of these things.
Despite the fact that I didn’t like the trailer, I can clearly see that they actually did listen to the feed back. Heck, the poster even has Superman smiling. There is much more color there now.
That being said, I don’t think this universe has erned my trust. The trailer isn’t going to win it so easily.
Why to analytical. This trailer isn’t meant to lay down the entire plot. It’s just meant to give us a taste of the JL. As time goes by we will see more. But as in the past the trailers we will see are not going to give the movie away. So knock off all the negativity and give it a break. Were just getting started for god sake’s.
Well said.
I liked the tease that it was, and appreciate it for what it was, a comic con reel, not an official “trailer” in any sense. I’m sure that when the actual trailer does roll out, we’ll get a better feel for the movie. Having said that, overall, I liked it. I’m interested to see where they go with Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen. Cyborg for me, looked pretty good. Looked like how I imagined Cyborg to look in live action. I just wish they had saved him for a Titans movie, and had gone with Martian Manhunter instead. But, still, Justice… Read more »
Gotta say. I wasn’t a big fan of the DC logo upgrade originally. But I’m really liking how they’ve used it for all of their promos. It looks really sharp. Way better than the D flap
The Only Issue I have with the trailer is that it’s the Justice League and Superman isn’t standing out front, in fact he’s nowhere to be found, I know he’s technically dead but that’s the problem, he shouldn’t be dead before the league is formed, I mean hech he was the one that saves the JL from Doomsday then dies in the process, I hope they can revive him in a great way or this movie will flop no matter how great the rest of the story is.
I thought what they showed was fine, but it didn’t feel like a trailer; maybe a teaser. I laughed out loud when The Flash told Bruce to stop talking and said he was in. LOL! 😀 I’m glad I didn’t see Superman at all. I know he’s in the team photo, but I want to be surprised at how he comes back. I also like, in the team photo, how everyone looks like a badass and not to be messed with. But Superman and Wonder Woman, while both looking strong, are almost smiling. I like differences between The Flash here… Read more »
I like the team photo for the same reasons you mentioned, but I also like how they are positioned – Wonder Woman in the center, not Superman, but he is in front of the group (with Wonder Woman and Batman slightly behind).
Yeah, I like that too and I find it interesting. 🙂 I wonder if they [the creators] are setting it up for neither Superman nor Batman to be the leader of the Justice League. I’m sure there would be Superman fans who would complain if Batman was the leader. I’m sure there are Batman fans that would complain if Superman was the leader. I wonder, if to avoid those 2 possibilities, they will go with a third option and make Wonder Woman the official or unofficial leader? I would be totally fine with this. After all, Wonder Woman is an… Read more »
My thoughts exactly! I don’t know what they decide about leadership, but I believe it is at least a subtle way of reminding us that Wonder Woman is not just an “addition” to Superman and Batman or less important member of the Trinity. It is similar to the famous Trinity shot in BvS – with Wonder Woman in the center and the boys behind her.
I think you’re right. They do keep putting her in the center, in Batman v Superman, in the promotional photos for Batman v Superman, and now in the Justice League photo.
I’m liking this a lot! 🙂
How can you not love this!?!…
The tone/mood/look…. for me this is dead on!
I’m really looking forward to the interactions between the League members…
Even the Flash has me won over in this brief little bit, and I thought that this was the worst casting choice imaginable…
Let’s just hope Superman is done right….
I’m looking forward to this as well. 🙂 Let’s just hope Superman is done right…. Not only do I hope Superman is done right, but I hope he is not in any of the trailers they release and they keep quiet on how/when he comes back in Justice League. I want it to be a surprise and I want it to be amazing! Oh, and I would laugh and facepalm at the same time if Superman came back as a badguy and before he was about to destroy the Justice League, Batman shouts to him “Martha!” and snaps Superman out… Read more »
