Amazing statue!
Damn straight it is (Y)
Wow!
I do like that. Probably can’t afford it but I do like it. Always loved that Chris’s suit had the big boots going right up to the knees. Not to say it necessarily needs to be a requirement but I just dig it on his.
It reminds me of the scene in Superman 2 where Superman flys in and stands on a flag pole and says”General, care to step outside?” Or in the Richard Donner version, “ General, haven’t you heard of freedom of the press?”
Yeah that’s pretty clearly what it’s modeled after. There’s a lot I liked about the Donner version but I still think “..care to step outside?” works a little better. Sometimes I wish I had a bunch of editing software and knew what the hell I was doing with it so I could make my own master-cut of Superman II combining what I felt worked in both the Donner and Lester cuts.

This looks really nice! If I had even one quibble, it’d be that the belt is more gold (in the style of George Reeves’s belt buckle) as opposed to Chris’s yellow (like the yellow of the S in the statue).
Even with that, this looks fantastic.
I do hope they fix the belt. Even if they don’t it won’t stop from buying this. It’s a great looking statue from an iconic scene, and it will be awesome to add it to the collection.
Speaking of George Reeves, though, when is someone going to make a statue of him? Would be nice to get one of Kirk Alyn as well. Those two way under-represented in terms of collectibles. They’re both big parts of Superman’s history, and again, would be cool to have them represented on my shelves. Hopefully someday…
You bring up a very good point. I also feel that Kirk Alyn doesn’t get much acknowledgement as the first actor to play the man of steel on film. I do admit that it wasn’t until a few years ago that I finally was able to see his version when I bought his complete Superman movie collection. I was amazed by his performance. And to some extent I could see how other versions are influenced by his interpretation of Superman. And then there’s George Reeves. What a classy Superman. As with the Kirk Alyn movies, it wasn’t until a few… Read more »
I would love to collect this. It looks great!
Me too. A real work of art
