February 7, 2023: Looking Back at the "All Star Superman" Comic Book Series

In 2006-2008 Superman Homepage writer John-Paul Zito reviewed the first two issues of "All Star Superman" by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely before Neal Bailey reviewed the remaining ten issues of the twelve issue miniseries. Here are some excerpts from each review...

#1 - "I felt a real energy from Morrison's Superman."

#2 - "I was impressed and entertained by Morrison's clever updates and stand up work on character and story detail."

#3 - "evokes a LOT of tender, wonderful imagery that I miss in Superman."

#4 - "The story remains, per the series as a whole, a celebration of the innocent Superman, the scientific, crazy, zany, old school Superman that I'm personally beloved of."

#5 - "easily one of the best Superman stories I've ever had the pleasure of reading."

#6 - "This is probably one of the better comics I've read."

#7 - "top to bottom this story is crazy, intelligent, strong, and Superman at his best."

#8 - "Incredible story. Just fricking incredible."

#9 - "hands-down, my favorite Supes book."

#10 - "Easily the best homage ever to Superman."

#11 - "This is an incredible story, and worth waiting for."

#12 - "As an accomplishment, this is unparalleled."

How would the Man of Steel spend his final days on Earth? All-Star Superman is a spectacular reimagining of the Superman mythos, from the Man of Steel's origin to his greatest foes and beyond.
