October 12, 2010: Superman Finally Arrives in Cincinnati

Superman #703 Cincinnati.com reports on Superman's arrival in Cincinnati within the pages of "Superman #703". Due to the ill health of writer J. Michael Straczynski, the comic's publication was delayed by one month, arriving this week (October 13) rather than the originally scheduled September 22 release date.

But Superman is in Cincinnati for only four pages of the 32-page issue, talking to his superhero pal Batman on the roof of an unidentified Downtown building. Illustrated panels on the fourth page show a barge on the Ohio River, the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge and a view of the skyline that includes the PNC Bank building, the Scripps Center and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.

In Cincinnati, Batman warns Superman that his attempt to reconnect with average citizens actually endangers them because Superman himself is a target of various super-villains. Superman then flies to Danville, between Columbus and Cleveland, where dangerous debris from New Krypton has fallen and where the rest of the story takes place.
