To say Superman has his hands full is an understatement. With the events of the “Justice/Doom War”, the Leviathan investigation, and Clark Kent’s interview with new Daily Planet owner, it’s a miracle he can take time to breathe. The Man of Steel has suddenly been transported to Gorilla City, who now seems allied with Luthor’s Legion of Doom. Upon his return to Metropolis, the city is under siege, and the Justice League may not be able to assist him without help.

Apex Lex Luthor and his Legion of Doom have laid waste to Metropolis, defeating the Justice League and Young Justice in the process. They want Superman to genuinely surrender unconditionally. Yet to do so will give the Legion of Doom the upper hand. The fate of Metropolis hangs in the balance.

5Story – 5: A lot happens all at once in this fast paced issue. Yet, it’s a story that is the very reason I love Bendis’ writing. He’s doing for DC what he did for Marvel years ago. He is telling the tales he wants to tell while entertaining the reader. He revitalized The Avengers, Iron Man and Daredevil. Now, he’s doing the same for Superman, and I, for one, am extremely happy to read his take on my favorite DC Comics character.

4Art – 4: I like John Romita Jr.’s art. My main problem with his DC work is that his Superman is slightly too thin. This body type is better for Spider-Man in my opinion.

4Cover Art – 4: The cover suffers from the same problem as the interior art. Still, it’s a nice image.

5Variant Cover Art – 5: It’s a bit dark, but the art is stupendous.
