June Moone and her alter ego Enchantress have been freed from their own personal hell by Superman and his new team. Now, they have become one and have agreed to be part of the Man of Steel’s plans. Their next objective is to recruit Lia Nelson, better known as Lightray. However, Apollo must contend with Eclipso while the rest of the new Authority deal with deadly robots and the original Authority in Dubai. At the same time, the Ultra-Humanite in Solomon Grundy’s body has bested Superman and is about to trap him in Kandor.
Story – 4: I do wish more had been done regarding June and Enchantress. A page or two more on her being freed by the Authority would have been nice. It feels rushed as published. Some scenes could have been put off until the next issue. Perhaps this should be six chapters instead of four. It’s still classic Grant Morrison, and it’s not your typical Superman book, which is a good thing. There just needed to be some changes made before the final draft came out.
Art – 5: The art pretty much follows suit with the previous issue, albeit to a lesser degree. Still, it’s perfect for this story.Cover Art – 5: It’s well drawn even if it does mislead the buyer just a bit.Variant Cover Art – 5: The style is slightly too cartoony, but at the same time it works well as a variant.
