November 18, 2014: New Titles Announced for Week Two of "Convergence"

DC Comics has announced the next wave of titles in their company-wide "Convergence" event, with 10 new titles scheduled to go on sale in the second week of April 2015... Three of which are Superman related:

Superman: Man of Steel SUPERMAN: MAN OF STEEL
Writer: Louise Simonson
Artist: June Brigman and Roy Richardson, with color by John Rauch
Metropolis was taken when Superman was missing, so it's up to Steel to guard the city from the heroes of GEN13 in his absence.

Supergirl: Matrix SUPERGIRL: MATRIX
Writer: Keith Giffen
Artist: Ramon Bachs, with color by Hi-Fi
What do Supergirl, Lady Quark, and Ambush Bug have in common? Well... nothing really. But that didn't stop us from sticking them in a story together. You are SO welcome.

Superboy SUPERBOY
Writer: Fabian Nicieza
Artist: Karl Moline and Jose Marzan Jr, with color by Hi-Fi
Has Kon-El earned the right to be the man of steel? Kon will have to prove his mettle in battle against the Superman of Kingdom Come! But what if the only way to save Metropolis is to lose the fight?

If you missed it, last week we posted details on two Superman related books in the first wave of "Convergence" books:

Lois and Superman SUPERMAN
Writer: Dan Jurgens
Artist: Lee Weeks and Dan Jurgens/Norm Rapmund
Superman and Lois deal with the impending birth of their child as he is called in to protect the city.

JUSTICE LEAGUE
Writer: Frank Tieri
Artist: Vicente Cifuentes
When Supergirl, Zatanna, and Jade went to Jessie Quick's baby shower, they didn't expect to be taken to another planet for a year, or to be attacked by Flashpoint Aquaman.

"Convergence" comprises a nine-part weekly comic book series that begins on April 1 with issue #0 and ends with issue #8 on May 27, as well as 40 brand-new 2-part mini-series to be published throughout April and May. The story spins out of the finales of "Earth 2: Worlds End" and "New 52: Futures End." The event will follow Brainiac as he hoards cities from all over the multiverse and captures them in "domes." Starting in April, the entire current crop of DC series will be placed on hold for two months while 40 new two-part series, each one seemingly set in one of the publisher's numerous alternate realities or past continuities, take their place.
