December 13, 1999: Able to Leap a Techo-Organic Building...
The SUPERMAN family of books take a step towards the future this week with the release of the SUPERMAN Y2K 80-page one-shot. The book, written by Joe Kelly (Action, Deadpool) and illustrated by Butch Guice (Resurrection Man), leaves Metropolis permanently transformed into a true "City of Tomorrow," and it's all just the starting point for a larger story running through the SUPERMAN books in January."New Metropolis provides a lot of wonderful opportunities for wild settings, technology, and new types of characters to become a part of the Superman universe," says Kelly, "It gives our characters more toys to play with, and sets Metropolis apart from the rest of the DCU as a very special place. Suddenly, we go from a town that could be New York city to something out of an Akira/Episode One architectural love child -- That's got to make for some cool props, let alone cool story elements!
