Big Blue Report

Welcome to the 452nd edition of the Big Blue Report!

While we'll finally see new Superman/Supergirl content available this month in the form of both new comic books and new episodes of the "Supergirl" TV series, I thought I might take some time to point out some entertaining features of our own website that you might not be aware of.

It's been my opinion for some time now that to be a good fan site, you can't just report on news and rumors, you have to also create your own content, and interact with fans as much as possible. I think that's what has set the Superman Homepage apart from many other Superman fan sites that have come and gone over the years, and what continues to make us the number one online destination for fans of the Man of Steel (as ranked by Google).

Most of you will no doubt be aware of features like the "Speeding Bulletin" and "WGBS TV Live!" videos we produce on a weekly basis. Both have been around for MANY years now. You're also probably aware of the monthly "SuperTrivia Quiz" and the fortnightly "Caption Contest". These are contests and competitions that we've also run for a long time now.

More recently, during these COVID-19 self isolation days, I've started to produce "Word Finder Puzzles" and our twice-weekly "The CAPE - Coronavirus Activities and Puzzles Ezine".

However, you might not be aware of some of the other lesser known interactive features housed at our website. We actually have a Fun & Games page, where you'll find a collection of fun games and interactive puzzles like the "Superman Returns" inspired 'Save Metropolis' and 'Stop! Press!' online video games (which both require Flash to work). There's also a SuperHangman game, and archives of hundreds of "Spot the Difference" SuperVision challenges.

Also available at our website are Virtual Postcards, which allow you to send a personalized Superman Virtual Postcard to your family and friends. We also have an interesting Visitor Map, where you can see where other Superman Homepage members are located around the world.

Admittedly, some of these features are a throwback to a different era of the internet, but, just like we celebrate the 80+ years of Superman history in mainstream media, I think it's important that we also preserve and archive the 25 year history of the Superman Homepage website, and look back at where we've been and how far we've come. The internet of the late 1990s and early 2000s was a vastly different place than 2020.

We continue to strive to be as interactive and fan friendly as we can, and hope that the Superman Homepage website continues to be a place where Superman fans can feel at home and connected to one another.

Regards,
Steve Younis

Here are the answers to last month's SuperTrivia Quiz questions:

ANSWER: The Joker

QUESTION 2: What were the names of the three villains Superman fatally exposed to Green Kryptonite radiation in the pocket universe in "Superman #22" (1988)?
ANSWER: General Zod, Quex-Ul, and Zaora

QUESTION 3: What were Zod's final words before Superman snapped his neck in the movie "Man of Steel"?
