Voice Cast for “Superman: Man of Tomorrow”

Superman: Man of Tomorrow

EW.com has published an article revealing details on the upcoming animated movie “Superman: Man of Tomorrow”.

The original story for “Superman: Man of Tomorrow” finds Clark Kent working as an intern for the Daily Planet and learning on the job how to save the city of Metropolis.

Darren Criss, who can be seen on Netflix this weekend starring in Ryan Murphy’s new drama Hollywood, will lead the Superman: Man of Tomorrow cast as the big blue boy scout himself. Zachary Quinto, who got his start playing the murderous supervillain Sylar on NBC’s Heroes, will here voice one of the greatest supervillains of all time: Lex Luthor. Alexandra Daddario (San Andreas) will voice Lois Lane.

Additionally, Superman villains Lobo and Parasite will also feature in the film, with Ryan Hurst (The Walking Dead) voicing the role of “The Man Man,” while the Parasite (Rudy Jones) will be voice by Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Brett Dalton.

The rest of the voice cast includes Ike Amadi (Mass Effect 3) as fellow superhero Martian Manhunter, Neil Flynn (Scrubs) as Jonathan Kent, and Bellamy Young (Scandal) as Martha Kent. Superman: Man of Tomorrow is directed by Chris Palmer (Voltron: Legendary Defender) and written by Tim Sheridan (The Death of Superman), with Butch Lukic (Justice League, Batman Beyond) serving as supervising producer.

Pre-order “Superman: Man of Tomorrow” on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack and Blu-ray Combo Pack from Amazon.com.

Zachary being Lex is a good choice but Darren as Superman that is interesting

Looks like a different designer than Phil Bourassa unless he’s changed his style again.

Lobo and Parasite. That’s very interesting. I’m intrigued by this news, and I’m definitely looking forward to this seeing this film. 🙂

Exactly! I was thinking the same thing. I am a big fan of Parasite when he’s not transforming into a monster. And Lobo’s interactions with Superman are always interesting. I can’t wait to see this film.

I like the art style and the character design. Hopefully the animation will go great with the art style and design of the characters. Also, I hope that Parasite won’t be a “throw away villain” in this film.

I actually like the Parasite having a more monsterish form as opposed to just being a purple humanoid but it also depends on how it’s designed. You can go too far with either one. Part of this I think is that Superman just looks cool fighting a monster or a robot. I think when it’s a costumed villain it’s easier to just think that Superman is fighting an ordinary human even if they have super human abilities whereas if he’s fighting something seemingly inhuman it just looks more impressive. It looks more like he’s battling something that he might lose… Read more »

– Those are some excellent points. I never thought about it that way. I’ll say this; I really enjoyed the story with Parasite in “SUPERMAN EARTH ONE VOLUME 2.” However, I really did not like Parasite’s portrayal in “ALL STAR SUPERMAN.” Either way though, I see your point, which is an excellent one.

I hope we get to see origins for both Parasite and Lobo as well as Luthor. But most of all I really want to see a new animated origin for Superman. It’s been a long time since he had a animated retelling of his origin. 🙂 I’m not counting Red Son as a retelling of his origin because its a elseworlds story. I mean I guess it could be considered as a retelling of his origin, but I’m not going to. I will miss the current animated Superman though. I look forward to seeing his final adventure in the upcoming… Read more »

Sadly I think a lot of the audience good will for seeing the origin story has been very abused by there being way too many retellings/reboots of it in a relatively short amount of time. I remember at one point when I was still working at a bookstore where we had Earth One, Secret Origin, and Birthright and the start of New 52 on the shelf at the same time and the only other story we had was Death/Return and IIRC this was when Man Of Steel had come out. Granted all of those have been awhile back at this… Read more »

I trust you’ve seen JL Dark pt1. To me the look and costumes are sort of abstract. Superman has high collar look, WonderW has different costume as well. The art work is different. One thing I noticed that I hadn’t before, was a lot of the battles scenes were in the city. There were NO people seen in the buildings or anywhere, It looked strange.

What did you mean, “seeing his final adventure” ??

I’ve heard that the latest Justice League animated movie will conclude this version of the continuity. So unless I’m mistaken, I presume this means that after this upcoming animated JL film, we’re getting a new version of an animated Superman. And yes, I have seen every animated DC film connected to this version of Superman thus far. I’m waiting to get the chance to see the new JL Dark war on apocalypse movie. Or is it apocalypse war? I keep forgetting the name of the title. My point is that I’ve see all the other movies that are connected to… Read more »

Personally, I hope it’s not the last time that we will see this version of Superman. We really got a better understanding of his character in the Death of Superman animated movie. It would be disappointing if after this upcoming film that it would be the last time we see this version of Superman. Maybe it’s best to take what I’ve said with a grain of salt. I haven’t seen the film yet. So I could be wrong. I hope I am. I like this version of Superman. I believe it’s best to wait for confirmation from SupermanHomepage.com for any… Read more »

In All-Star Parasite kinda looks like one of the martians from Sesame Street IMO.

I enjoy the STAS design for him and I also like the version like what we see in the current Man Of Tomorrow comics and I kinda like the Alex Ross version. All of those I think use the silver rings on him from STAS which I just really dig as way to give him a “costume”.

I actually like the idea that Parasite is a monstrous shape that actually looks like a parasitic virus with fangs or mandibles in a humanoid form. Maybe a cross between between the Martin Brundle fly, Tremors and the Dune worms as a facial feature could work out. I always thought that he is very underrated as a character and a villain and should be used more often. Lobo on the other hand…so stoked to see him make an appearance. Here’s to the day when we get a full length feature film debut no matter the form.
