Fan Fixes Henry Cavill’s “Justice League” Mustache Problem

Video creator JARKAN has posted another Deep Fake video showing once again how bad a job Warner Bros. did removing Henry Cavill’s mustache for the “Justice League” movie.

Henry Cavill was in the midst of filming “Mission Impossible: Fallout” for Paramount Studios, in which his character sports a fairly prominent mustache. The problem was, Henry was also being asked to film reshoots as Superman for the “Justice League” movie for Warner Bros. Cavill was expected to be able to finish shooting the sixth “Mission Impossible” film before needing to don Superman’s spandex again. That didn’t happen, which required Henry to jump back and forth from each production. Paramount would not allow Cavill to shave the facial hair while production was taking place, which meant the mustache he grew for his character in the “Mission Impossible” sequel had to be digitally removed in post-production… and it didn’t look good.

Here’s JARKAN’s attempt at the opening scene from “Justice League”.

See Supermanhomepage I told you the bad CGI lip will not be forgotten. It will always follow Superman around like a bad hangover JS.

Hahahaha. Looks more legit than the original. Does that mean we’ll get the Justice League: The Deep Fake Cut as well? 😀

Really you think that looks any better? Not me. HC still just looks so weird to me. DC/WB just jacked that lip up beyond any repair JS.

It looks a wee bit better yep. And it’s completely fine if you have a different opinion about it. 😀
While the Moustachegate has already achieved its cult status, it will always remain as an uncleanable stain during and after the post production of JL. Henry didn’t take it seriously much though because he thought it is how it is and time to move on.

And no offense to the fan but he didn’t fix it. Henry still looks super bizarre and its still hard to see Superman looking like that not to mention the charming Henry.

Baloney!! It looks 100 times better. Can you imagine them sitting in a viewing room and seeing this for the first time and NO ONE saying his mouth looks horrendous, FIX IT?? My hats off to the “fixer” of this. Great job!! And by the way……this scene was part of the JossW re-shoot. Henry was filming Mission Impossible(on break) when he was called back in. His role as Superman under Snyder was already completed. This scene addition was bad,bad and bad. As much as I, because of my love for the characters, want to see at times the JL, this… Read more »

They shouldn’t have authorised the scene in the first place. My wife, friends and I present at the theatre all clapped our palms onto our heads and thought ‘No way’
Had I been the producer and seen this during the dailies, I would have fired the ones responsible and have commissioned either a new opening scene or a replay from the previous films.

I know its horrible. The fan who thinks he fixed it completely removed the split in Henry’s chin. If anyone thinks they fixed it needs their eyes checked. Personally I wish we would just move on. I’m tired of the mustache crap.

Compared to the original,… one could look at this fix and be at least satisfied. I’m not comparing it to Henry’s actual face but at least this fix doesn’t start the movie off an a sour note. And like Snyder or not, in what he accomplished you’ll not find any visual crap-o-la like that.

Who cares?! Odds are pretty good Cavill won’t wear the cape again, and the fabled Snyder Cut of Justice League will (probably) be made from incomplete elements like the Donner Cut of Superman II.

Incomplete or not, I’ll take his cut over what we have now. Which is NOTHING !!
