It seems someone at HBO Max pressed the wrong button this morning, giving fans an advanced preview of “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” a whole 10 days early.
HBO Max subscribers who attempted to watch the new “Tom & Jerry” movie this morning were accidentally shown “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” instead.
One fan took to Twitter to let everyone know that he’d been able to watch the first hour of the film before HBO Max corrected the error.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO Max issued a statement stating, “Zack Snyder’s Justice League was temporarily available on HBO Max and the error was addressed within minutes.”
According to Twitter user Doug Bass of Charlotte, North Carolina, “I just wanted to put on Tom & Jerry for background noise while I worked, and instead I watched an hour of an amazing movie.”
The 4-hour R-rated movie will be available to stream on HBO and worldwide in most locations from March 18.
How is Hbo Max still in shambles? Haha they never have their stuff together.
Did anyone read about the changes snyder wanted to make going forward with Lois giving birth to Batman’s baby? Yeah I’m glad the studio actually put the kibosh on that. I would have absolutely HATED that.
That’s the beauty of cinematic storytelling. Consider this an Elseworlds Story. We had a Superman who landed on Apokolips. A Superman who was Batman. A Superman Frankenstein. And a Superman who was raised on an Amish Farm.
I’m fine with elseworlds stories and it sounds like that’s mainly what we’re going to be getting moving forward, but I just don’t like that particular plot element. It just seems like another way to stick it to superman and kind of making him a chump to Batman yet again. And then Batman was supposed to sacrifice himself heroically and the kid turns Into the Second Batman… All we ever heard about was how superman was supposed to have some epic arc, but it sounds more like they were concentrating on Batman’s arc while treating Superman as a plot device…… Read more »
In hindsight WB knows that Batman is more profitable than Superman which is why Superman should always be his second fiddle. While I personally don’t mind how the story goes regardless of the outcome, I do find it disappointing that he is not top Billing of the JL cast/role call. WB is also convinced that Batman is the main star of all its DC related Franchises and thus his stories are much more interesting than Superman because they know they can’t do much with all these powers….because he can do almost anything with those powers. I am hoping for news… Read more »
I’m down for any form of man of steel 2,hbo max or otherwise. Wb/dc should really challenge themselves to move beyond the tunnel vision they have with Batman. Any comic character has the potential to be popular. It comes across as lazy when they just go right into ‘batman is the most popular’ and ‘Superman is unrelatable’. Why don’t they try and move beyond that close mindedness? Bvs proved that just throwing batman in a movie doesn’t ensure box office billions.
I only knew about a relationship, not a baby. Either way, I too am glad they stopped that. Studio interference isn’t *always* bad. I can imagine why he wanted to go that route, but honestly it would feel unearned and it would risk getting too close to a soap opera.
We leave that to Marvel, har har.
Haha yeah I hate that idea completely. And it just proves To me yet again that they focus more on Batman’s story than Superman’s. We weren’t supposed to get the ‘real’ Superman until the end of this arc (which probably meant that we would never see it because it would end like smallville… on the cusp of becoming Superman) this just seems like another way to have batman be better than Superman. These are fictional characters and it made me angry and uncomfortable because I don’t want there to be that kind of drama lol
Eh, if it was Bruce Timm I’d definitely agree, but I don’t think Zack operates like this. He wants his big dramatic stories, he doesn’t seem to play favorites with the players in them. I think he just really wanted that conflict, for some ungodly reason and I’m also pretty sure even in his scenario, Lois and Superman would stay together in the end of his arc. The “real Superman” bit always referred to a more “traditional” Superman. I always interpreted it like that scene in Batman Begins, when Gordon hands Batman the Joker card. That’s when Batman really becomes… Read more »
I’m sure they would have stayed together also, but that storyline is just something I’m not interested in seeing. It’s uncomfortable drama if that makes any sense. I’ve seen similar scenarios play out in different films (‘brothers’ and ‘out of the furnace’ right off the top of my head). And it’s just such a depressing plot line. Plus we already got something similar in Returns with thinking Jason was Richards kid. It’s interesting you brought up Batman begins because I definitely agree with you on how that movie left batman! With that being said, I do find Begins to be… Read more »
No, I agree with all of that. I wouldn’t be interested in seeing that storyline either, I’m just trying to figure out the reasoning behind it. I don’t think it was supposed to be a 5 film arc from the beginning either. I think, for all intends and purposes, Superman was Superman by the end of Man of Steel; maybe not traditional Superman, but Superman. Buuuut then the bad kind of studio interference reared its ugly head and the creatives have to adapt and expand their plan when that happens. Zack and Terrio deserve some credit for being instructed to… Read more »
Yeah, but given how awkward Henry and Amy were on screen, it kinda made sense.
I hate the idea too, but IMO they didn’t pull off a realistic and believable relationship.
I never felt that they were in love.
It really did seem like 2 actors trying to pretend they were in love more than 2 characters that were in love.
So Lois not actually being in love with Clark and developing a relationship with Bruce Wayne makes sense in the context of Snyder’s movies.
I don’t know. I sort of get the impression that this “accidental” release of the first hour was intentional. I mean yeah, it probably was an accident, but I just can’t help but think that this was their way of giving an early preview of the event. With something that has been planned for over a year, I just can’t see how this could be just accidentally released. Again it probably was an accident but I just can’t help but think that it might not have been.
We’ll never know Spidey ol’ buddy. But if you ask me….they should have released it yesterday 😀
It kind of reminds me of the scene in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie where Casey Jones “accidentally” pulls the trash compactor and says “ooops!”.
2 points for a TMNT reference , Spidey haha. Classic!
“Go ninja, go ninja, go!”
Ha ha ha. That old classic song from Teenage mutant ninja turtles II the secret of the ooze. Vanilla Ice if I’m not mistaken 😀
But it wouldn’t surprise me if someone pressed a button and said “oops” for that “accidental” sneak peek at Zack’s JL.
Lol 😀
I had the soundtrack for the first two movies haha! The first one had ‘T-U-R-T-L-E power’ lol ah memories.
If I’m not mistaken, one of the lyrics for turtle power said Rafael is the leader of the group when actually it’s Leonardo. I always thought that was kind of odd.
Lol yup. Good memory! Everyone took exception with that line haha
Oh yeah buddy. Hahhahaaa that was a classic scene at the end.
Classics are the best. 🙂
I don’t believe it for a second.
I’d soon believe it was a smart ass in IT more than an intentional thing.
But I’m a occam’s razor kind of guy.
Riiiiiight, HBO Max made a mistake and leaked its most hotly anticipated release in its history so far. And the one guy caught it. Because nobody else wanted to watch Tom & Jerry at that particular moment in the entirety of the United States.
Nice try, Doug. WHERE ARE THE BODIES, DOUG?
Some food for thought.
SC is not tracking that well.
WW84 had better social media numbers than SC.
Coming to America 2 had better streaming numbers than WW84.
So even though I think the leak wasn’t an intentional corporate decision, it would make sense given how much they have invested in it compared to how poor it’s tracking.
Even though a certain demographic would say it’s tracking well, SC already looks like a lost investment.
Where did that come from?? Who has seen this in any capacity??
And again,…..this is more than likely in the same context as BvS. I think if anyone’s looking for this to be rearranged in a way that it’s going to bring over the previous anti Snyder crowd, then they’re in for a disappointment. Different was what we got in JossW’s version.
