Zack Snyder Teases Superhero Movie Event

Snyder Con 2023

Director Zack Snyder has posted another interesting image on his Vero social media account promoting the mysterious upcoming April 28-30 event, this time using a photo of Henry Cavill as Superman from “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”.

The text on the image reads:

MOS BVS ZSJL
“LIFE IS A CYCLE, FROM BIRTH TO DEATH TO REBIRTH.
AND SO THE HERO’S JOURNEY IS A CYCLE AS WELL,
A CONTINUOUS JOURNEY OF GROWTH AND TRANSFORMATION.”
APRIL 28 29 30

The MOS, BVS and ZSJL are of course abbreviations of “Man of Steel,” “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” and “Zack Snyder’s Justice League”.

Back in 2019 Snyder hosted a “Snyder Con” where he showed three of his films, “Dawn of the Dead” (2004), “Watchmen” (2009), and “Batman v Superman” (2016). It is being speculated that Zack Snyder is planning a 2023 version of Snyder Con where he will show the three superhero films mentioned in the graphic.

If I had to guess, that cryptic “save the date” Darkside message was probably meant to promote this event.

My inner cynic wants to see “Snyder Con 2.0” as a way to marshal the fan base to further his own stories with DC, in the same way that the original seemed to galvanized the push that resulted in the Snyder Cut of Justice League.
