In a short video posted online, Zack Snyder makes mention of the vacant pod seen on the Kryptonian scout ship in the movie “Man of Steel”.
With the release of Snyder’s new Netflix film “Army of the Dead,” the director talks about some of the Easter Eggs fans should look for, and likens it to the questions fans asked of “Man of Steel”. While it’s been almost 8 years since Snyder’s Superman film was released to theaters, fans are still asking Snyder about the movie and some of their unanswered questions… like the vacant pod.
Snyder says he knows who was in the pod, but remains tight-lipped on who it was or whether he’ll ever reveal the occupant’s identity.

Wasn’t this question answered in the Man of Steel prequel comic?
i thought it was…
if i may, on a side note, ask about titans. i just recently got access to it and i’m curious if i should watch or not. again, i’m sorry for highjacking, but this site is the best forum and i didn’t know where else to ask. is it good? is it like superman and lois-ish? is it teeny bobber, bubblegum-ish? i’ve read a bunch of reviews since it came out (mixed), and now that i can watch it, i dunno if it’s worth it. i’d love any feedback, please! oh, btw, tom welling has another daughter☺
I heard Titans is good. And I think season 3 will premier on HBOmax soon. I figured that when season 3 has all its episodes out, that’s when I’ll start watching it on a one episode every other week basis. That way it’ll last longer for me to watch.
I’d give it a shot. The first season is pretty good, the second season is extremely uneven, but it has its moments. It has a pretty grimdark approach, especially in the first season, but the characters are solid and there’s a surprising amount of comic book world building. I personally enjoyed it well enough for what it is.
Unpopular opinion apparently, but I honestly didn’t much care for the first season of Titans. At best, I found it uneven. I made it about halfway through the first episode of Season 2, before realizing that it just wasn’t for me…
thank you guys for the feedback!
You’re welcome buddy.
Goyer intended it to be Kara and he showed as much in the MoS prequel comic, but it’s interesting Snyder has never confirmed it. It’s possible he’s still toying around with ideas, just in case he gets to do more in his Snyderverse.
I should note here that Kara was Goyer’s idea, not Snyder’s; in an interview that came out around the time of MoS, Goyer confirmed that Snyder was going to cut out the shot of the open pod until Goyer “cried uncle”.
It’s just another slap in the face that we’re not going to get anything that resembles a MoS sequel. I’ve got about a week to go before my ordered Justice League arrives.(finally) So I will be watching MoS and BvS within the next week in preparation.
Anybody else out there ordered the JL???
He’s not going to let this go…
Still no answers on why General ZOD wanted Lois Lane to go to space
Plot convenience. Why have things make sense when you can just force it? smh
I mean, it makes sense, it’s just a bit contrived. There was a better way to set that up, but Goyer will Goyer.
In most movies, there’s a few scenes that have questions surrounding them. I’m still of the mind set that to this day, MoS ranks as one of the “BEST” superhero movies ever made.
