Nice interview. Zack seems like a down-to-earth fun person. It would be awesome to go out and have a beer with him and talk about films.

There’s no denying that Zack is a cool and friendly guy. While I haven’t enjoyed everything he’s giving us in this universe, I am genuinely happy for him that he’s getting this opportunity. I will never deny his skill with making breathtaking visuals. Dawn of the dead was one my favorite horror movies of the early 2000s. I look forward to army of the dead as much as JL. Good luck Zack, I’m pulling for you!

I have to admit, it was interesting to hear that he acknowledges the multi-verse idea.

Why do so many interviewers/people have this idea that evil Superman is compelling and enjoyable to watch? And I’m so very tired of the “Superman must have moral internal conflict to be relatable” trope. As if there has never existed people with strong moral foundations from practically birth and obviously those people are not relatable / human. smh

People like that are the vocal minority, much like the people who want to see batman constantly get one up on Superman. It can be done well once, but then we should move on from that concept. I thought Chris Reeve did a great evil Superman and I loved it. Now I don’t ever need to see it again. (As bad as S3 is, Chris does not get enough credit for playing 3 roles in that film). I’ve never been interested in injustice. That does not appeal to me as that is not Superman.

Is Brightburn considered to be a movie about a evil version of Superman?

I regret seeing that film.

It’s the same type of thing, Spidey. People who want an evil Superman. I think it’s loosely based on Superman, but it wasn’t as clever as it thought it was. Even watching it as a horror fan it was quite underwhelming. They gave the character no internal struggle, all of a sudden he was just evil for a random reason…so that he could vaporize people with heat vision ‘cool!’ (Eye roll). If brighburn taught us anything, its that making a character more conflicted or darker doesn’t make it more compelling. That character was boring and not compelling at all. I… Read more »

The Amazon Prime series The Tick has a parody of Superman called Superian. They actually did a parody scene of can you read my mind with the character in season two.

sup2878——I never associated Brightburn with anything Superman related. The kid coming to earth from some other planet was a marginal comparison. Overall Brightburn was apiece of crap-o-la that costs 6mill to make and had nothing more that a couple of gruesome scenes. I had friends that told me “I had to see it”, because it was a play off Superman. I asked them all. besides the space vehicle, name me one Superman related scene,…..I got no credible answers. Brightburn left a slight bad taste in me as I thought it was sick that anyone might compare it to Superman in… Read more »

Somewhat agree. CR’s role in 3 was overshadowed by a totally buffoon plot, misplaced actors and the camp roles they played, starting with RP.

Icm…….I not so sure that “evil” Superman is a totally correct description. I would assume that would depend on what the movie plot actually has him do.

I wish there was a way for me to contact and ask Grace if she has heard anything regarding rumors of a possible Brandon Routh Superman HBO Max series.

She wouldn’t shy away from letting people know if there was some news… so my guess is that there’s nothing on the horizon as of yet. Keep hope though, Spidey!

If you liked what Snyder had given us in MoS and BvS then this will be appreciated as well. If you didn’t then your probably going to have the same opinion as the first two. If it’s true that the running time is close to 4 hours then there must have been way more completion of both parts than what was thought. What floored me was when he said it will be 5 years since! And I believe he said he hadn’t seen the version we got. I’m sure he’d be in total shock at that opening scene. Never the… Read more »

Pretty cool interview. Mr. Snyder is indeed someone who is seems to be very down to earth. Despite his flaws in filmmaking, I do enjoy the visuals he treats us with. I’d rather sit down with a bloke like that who makes entertaining films despite not being always box office billion dollar smash hits, having a pint or two and talk about films and pop culture all day long instead of hanging around with an arrogant and pompous jerk like James Cameron who has a hit almost once in a decade….and makes a billion dollar in the process. Really looking… Read more »

I agree Kal-Ed. I truly believe if we fans keep asking for a Brandon Routh Superman movie trilogy or/and series on HBO or HBO Max or on some other streaming service, it will happen Kal-Ed. 🙂 We just got to keep asking for it. And I would love for them to make a Brandon Routh Kingdom Come Superman figure as well. 😀 With rumors of a possible Flash Multiverse movie, maybe we will see a team up of Routh’s Superman and Cavill’s Superman. I admit I’m not a fan of Cavill’s take on the Man of Steel, but I’m not… Read more »

Amen to that. As long as they do not CGI Chris Reeve, I’m all for it. The possibility is endless and Crisis On Infinite Earths showed that it can be done, depending on the story and its settings. Each Superman actor in my honest opinion has brought on something special to the table. I grew up on the Reeve’s version and in later years came Dean. Then Tom. Then Brandon. Then Henry and now Tyler. Chris Reeve, God rest his soul was an inspiration for all others that came after him and to many he set the bar straight for… Read more »

Maybe we can get the ball rolling on this idea. If we keep asking for it and if other Superman fans chime in as well, I’m sure that they will listen. Surely others would like to see a Superman meets Superman film. If more fans talk about Routh Superman meets Cavill Superman, maybe someone who works and makes decisions for DC superhero films will hear of this idea and say “Hey! A Brandon Routh Superman meets Henry Cavill Superman movie sounds Iike a great idea! Let’s make it happen!”. I think we just need more people to talk about it… Read more »
