Zack Snyder Only Shot 4 Extra Minutes of Footage for “Justice League”

In a new interview with Grace Rudolph for her “Beyond The Trailer” YouTube channel, direct Zack Snyder revealed that the extra footage he recently filmed for the 4-part HBO Max special will only amount to a few minutes. “I will say that in the end it’s going to probably be about four minutes or five minutes of additional photography for the entire movie. In the four hours that is Justice League, maybe four minutes.”

Set to premiere on HBO Max in 2021, the new round of shooting for Zack Snyder’s “Justice League” were designed to complete unfinished scenes to enable Snyder to turn his vision into a four-episode event series.

HBO Max and Warner Bros. Pictures will exclusively world premiere Zack Snyder’s director’s cut of the Warner Bros. Pictures/DC feature film “Justice League” in 2021.

4 minutes of shooting? But the film is four hours long! Is he somehow slo-mo-ing those 4 minutes?! Hehehehee 😀

Doesn’t surprise me. Remember most of what Snyder initially shot was never shown after Whedon made the edits for his theatrical version.

Yeah sure. Even my wife who is not a comic book movie fan, noticed those changes while we were at the movies. Whatever snyder has shot back then has been Whedonised and not for the better. I enjoyed it for what it is as a big budget Saturday Morning full feature length cartoon. Too bad WB execs got cold feet and made it a dud

Whether it’s an “additional 4 minutes” or an “additional 25 minutes” really doesn’t matter to me. I’m just glad that it will be a 4-hour cut where we get to see more of Superman and the other characters’ storylines. I can’t wait for this film!

Well, hey! I’ll take the 4-5 mins of additional new footage regardless of Snyder having already filmed majority of his “Justice League: Director’s Cut” (hence why Cavill isn’t needed for the reshoots) here!

Man, I’m awaiting in much anticipation for this 4 episodic mini-series special for HBO Max (and God willing, later released to Digital, DVD, Blu-ray and 4K HD) in 2021. 🙂

HBO MAX will be added to Amazon Prime apps. Which will make it a alot easier for some who don’t and can’t subscribe outside the US. That’s cool.

It would appear that his version was more complete than we were led to believe. It’s looking more so like they(WB), simply wanted to shut down this entire multiple character story line. It was convenient at the time with Zack taking leave, to make the excuse, “it’s unwatchable”. They hired JossW to come in and close it down. And that’s what he did. I would say from a stand point of quality, JossW didn’t have a great deal of interest in the JL project. He did what they told him to do. So we got a chop job JL that… Read more »
