Zack Snyder Makes Cameo Appearance on “The Studio”, Poking Fun at His Own “Snyder Cut”

In a moment of self-deprecating humor, director Zack Snyder made a cameo appearance on the TV series “The Studio” during its eighth episode, playing himself as a presenter at a fictional Golden Globes ceremony.

The scene features Snyder being introduced as “a man who has done neither” musical nor comedy—a playful jab at the director known for his distinctly dark and serious filmmaking style.

Snyder then proceeds to deliver a joke about his infamous “Snyder Cut” of Justice League, telling the fictional audience: “Now for any of you who felt like the show has gone by too fast or felt it’s not nearly long enough, don’t worry, I’ll be releasing a six-hour, black-and-white, 4.3 version of the show, Snyder Cut style, on digital download and Blu-ray. $29.99, so look for that.”

The reference pokes fun at Snyder’s 2021 director’s cut of Justice League, which clocked in at over four hours and was released in both color and a special “Justice is Gray” black-and-white edition. The director’s cut became a cultural phenomenon after fans campaigned for years with the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut hashtag, eventually leading Warner Bros. to greenlight the project.
