Watchmen and BvS’s Director’s Cuts have been in circulation for a while now. There’s probably a DotD Director’s cut already on the market too, I’m just not a fan of zombie movies and don’t care enough to find it. So unlike the hypothetic Director’s Cut of JL, at least the elements for finished versions of the others exist and have the full backing of the studio. Maybe some kind of rough cut of Snyder’s film exists, but the necessary elements for a “complete” cut are apparently pretty elusive. Maybe… Maybe… something ala the Donner Cut of Superman II could be… Read more »

Wow, he’s just gonna milk this as long as he can, isn’t he? Not that I blame him, really, but still… it’s a bit odd at this point.

And I have to say.. that logo/picture is a pretty apt description of DC’s status under his direction, imo.

. Almost. There’s too much actual color on that zombie, you’d have to crank the saturation down to negative 75%, then it would be completely apt.

It would make an excellent picture for a caption contest

I would argue that quality directors shouldn’t need directors cuts for almost every single one of their films. That tells me there’s a problem with the storytelling and editing. That being said, I do enjoy Dawn of the Dead. That’s probably my favorite movie of his (I’m also a big horror fan). I go back and forth on Watchmen. I enjoy the source material and because the film is almost beat for Beat, I find enjoyment in it. Even if it’s a completely ‘bro’ version of the story. His casting of Rorschach was great. BvS ultimate cut is leaps and… Read more »

I agree with you. DotD is one of my favorite Zombie movies and Watchmen is good mostly because its adherence to the source, but that’s also why I dislike BvS as much as I do, as close as Watchmen is BvS is such a drastic departure from the source. And while the DC fills in some of the plot holes the blatant disregard for proper characterization is still there.

How’s this for a caption contest joke for this picture?

It’s the undead composite SuperWatchman.

Get it? Like the composite Superman but he’s mixed up with one of the members of the watchmen and he’s a zombie.

I know, I know. It was a tacky joke, but it was kind of funny.
