Will Superman Appear on The CW’s New Series “Naomi”?

Inspired by the DC Comics character created by Brian Michael Bendis, “Naomi” is the latest DC Comics character to join The CW’s slate of superhero shows, following teenage comic-book fangirl Naomi McDuffie who discovers her own super abilities.

While “Naomi” stands alone in its own universe at this point in time, Kaci Walfall (who plays Naomi) revealed on “Good Day Sacramento,” that Superman is involved saying, “I think that Naomi exists in her own universe, so Tyler Hoechlin who plays Superman in ‘Superman & Lois’ was not on the set; but I’m excited for fans to see that take on Superman, especially in the first episode.”

The premiere of “Naomi” will air on The CW in the USA on Tuesday, January 11 at 9.00pm, directly following the return of “Superman & Lois”.

Cant’ wait for this show….. said no one ever.

I’m about done with DC, from all the stupidity they’ve been pulling in the comics to the flat out rejection of the snyderverse, to the possible erasure of said universe, and now this show’s superman won’t be Tyler….

What is up with DC and WB?

I can’t wait for this show. And I know a bunch of people who feel the same way. QED. It’s okay that people like things you don’t. Really. For me, nothing will make me happier than when the dour Snyderverse is relegated to the dustbin. It can’t happen fast enough, as far as I’m concerned. I can also, believe it or not, accept that you enjoy it and be glad for you. That’s what it means not to be selfish. What is up with DC and WB is that they try a lot of things. Some work. Some don’t. You… Read more »

I’ll be honest it’s the first time that I’m so disappointed in DC. I have never been one to call for boycott WB and such. I mean you can probably look up my comment history and see that what I’m saying is true. I mean I stuck it through DC You for Pete’s sake. But lately man, they’ve just ruffled my feathers. I apologize if I came a little too strong with the first line. I understand that you don’t like the Snyderverse but here’s a simple question, not for you specifically but WB in general. Why can’t we have… Read more »

That and the fact that in the comics, Superman is off world getting the snot beat out of him, losing his powers, while Jonathan is Superman of earth. Not gonna lie I’m still a little butthurt that they aged Jonathan up, and we lost the father son dynamic that Jurgens issues had which where just so amazing.

Well that’s just it. The reason we can’t have both is because whenever someone tries something new, like Naomi, there is a whole cavalcade of cynicism.

There’s no reason at all we can’t have both.

The fans simply have to take things or leave things as they come and not act like their opinions are more important than trusting artists to create.

If I had to guess, they probably will do what they did to Superman on Supergirl’s first season. Which was a glimps of a cgi Superman or a stand in actor for the role whose face we won’t see. If this version isn’t the same as Tyler’s, is there any chance Brandon Routh’s version could play the role in future episodes? I’m keeping my fingers crossed on that possibility. 🙂

I have to admit I’m not familiar with the superhero Naomi. I know that she’s a huge Superman fan with superpowers of her own, but I don’t know what her powers are or what her backstory is. So basically if she weren’t a fictional character, she could be any Superman fan on the SupermanHomepage. That’s just about as much as I know about her. I guess one way to look at it, is that what we have here is an opportunity to see what any Superman fan would do if they had superpowers. So I’m intrigued to find out what her… Read more »

So I just watched the pilot episode of the new CW series Naomi, and I give it a B+ or A- grade. Which is not bad. Without giving any spoilers I will say that this series does keep the audience invested in the episode. However there are a few nitpicks that I have. For starters, the acting I found to be a bit choppy at times, mostly from supporting characters. I did get a bit confused as to why some characters disliked other characters. Like what is the back story there? Did this person do something really bad? The main… Read more »

I would love to see that Superman/Lois and Supergirl would appear in a future episode in a crossover episode. I still hope that Naomi will have her own rogue gallery.

I don’t mean to sound mean or anything and I hope that I don’t sound mean, and I’m sorry if I do, but I really don’t want Supergirl to show up actually. I just feel that Superman and Lois has enough Supers as is on their show. Besides Clark there’s Jordan, Morgan and potentially Johnathan. Although I don’t think Johnathan will get any powers. And there’s also Steel. To add in Supergirl would run the risk oversaturation of superheroes. And I think Superman is a strong enough character that he doesn’t need Supergirl to lend him a hand. And even… Read more »
