Will Henry Cavill Appear as Superman in “Shazam!”?

Henry Cavill’s manager Dany Garcia has sent Superman fans in a spin, wondering what her recent cryptic Tweet could mean.

“Who is this man? What are we saying? What are we planning? Oh, it’s goood… You’ll thank me later,” Dany Garcia tweeted.

There’s little doubt Garcia is standing with Henry Cavill, the pair in silhouette against what appears to be either a film shoot or photo shoot backdrop.

Dany Garcia is not only Henry’s manager, she is also the ex-wife and business manager of Dwayne Johnson, and a producer on the upcoming film “Shazam!”.

We know that the Man of Steel will have an influence on Billy Batson and his friends in the film, with a recent photo showing young actor Jack Dylan Grazer as Billy’s friend Freddy Freeman wearing a “Man of Steel” Superman T-Shirt. However there’s been a lot of speculation around whether Henry Cavill’s Superman will make an appearance in the movie, and the Tweeted photo by Garcia is adding fuel to that fire.

“Shazam!” is scheduled to be released in theaters on April 5, 2019.

I suppose I’ll take a cameo, but I’d prefer a man of steel sequel. Beggars can’t be choosers though.

Looking closely at this photo, I’m getting the impression that Henry is in his reporter suit. The collar is giving an impression of a jacket. Although I could be wrong because it’s still to dark to tell. Maybe Clark will be investigating reports of a new superhero with powers similar to his own?

My first comic was Shazam! issue 26 (1976). But Geof Johns back stories in Justice League (New 52) raised the bar.
Superman cameo in this movie would be awesome. The rumors of the DCEU breaking away from a shared universe would be stupid. That is always what has made comics awesome. MCU figured that out…..DCEU needs to stay on course.

There are always negative rumors surrounding the DCEU – how many times were rumors out out that during filming Wonder Woman was so awful that it was going to be a disaster?

Shazam should be looking to do it’s own thing far away from the burning rubble that is the DCEU. It shouldn’t have to be saddled with all the baggage that comes with it. If WB really wants to give Shazam every possible chance to succeed, they should not connect it to the DCEU with cameos from Cavill, or anyone else. It would be extremely foolish on their part.

I don’t think that Justice League, as disappointing as it was for everyone, is poison for a connected universe. I think that true fans recognize the behind the scenes nightmare that lead to the end result. But we remain in love with the characters, and I, for one, have always been thrilled with the casting choices. (Even Ezra, on screen he has so much charm and charisma that he won me over)… Justice league was a mess… but I actually enjoyed it… I don’t think a Superman Cameo is going to give any viewer the impression that the Shazam was… Read more »

I hope that the DCEU does soldier on, and that we do get to see a JL 2 at some point. And with this cameo, really hope that it green lights a MoS sequel soon.

Really hope we get to see Black Adam in some form or fashion. I know that he will be the main antagonist in the Suicide Squad sequel, before he gets his own solo movie, but I’d like to at least see him in some form in Shazam!

Far as I know, Henry’s Superman contract only covers one more movie after ‘Justice League’. It would be a real shame if that turned out to be just a cameo in a movie about a character that’s basically just a pale imitation of Superman. All I want is a good sequel to ‘Man of Steel’ – which to this day remains the best DCEU movie by far.

I for one don’t want there to be a sequel to the movie man of steel, so NO THANK YOU! It’s the worst version of Superman. More like Bizarro. They should just reboot the Superman movie franchise with a new actor playing the role of superman. Or better yet, bring back Brandon Routh to play Superman. He did a fantastic job and deserves a second chance at playing the Man of Steel.
