DC Studios has released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming “Superman” movie.
James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a SUPERMAN who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.
The cast of the film, simply titled “Superman”, features David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Terence Rosemore as Otis, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Christopher McDonald as Ron Troupe, Neva Howell as Martha Kent, and Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent.
Directed by James Gunn, “Superman” is scheduled to be released July 11, 2025.
Whilst I’m still planning to go see this movie I’m afraid to say this trailer did nothing for me.
One thing I actually found a bit off-putting was the remix of the John Williams theme. I actually think the theme could be remixed in a way that works for me but this wasn’t it.
Well…personally WOW. I loved it! The brighter colours! Rachel looks like Lois – Nicholas looks like Lex, David looks like Superman and CK. Krypto!… Full of hope – as far as I’m concerned.

I loved it! Krypto and Lex going to steal the movie I think! My only nitpick is that … as some have pointed out… it sometimes looks like a tv show with the cinematography.. not that it looked bad at all, but I can’t unsee it now lol But I’m really excited for this version of Lois! It’s been a long, long time since I have felt this hopeful, eager with anticipation, positive and optimistic about a live action Superman film. I am so looking forward to seeing Superman fly on the big screen come summer 2025. “ you’ll believe a man can fly.”

I still hate that S logo they’re using.I won’t buy any merchandise with that logo on it.
The guitair remix of the John Williams theme is a bit “meh” for my tastes.
I know it’s from kingdom come which is a classic story from the 90s, but it’s never been my favorite version of the logo either. I would have preferred a more traditional ‘s’ but this will do for now. I have more of a problem with the collar.
Agree with both of you. I prefer the more traditional suit, but it’s a small nitpick. All of the other “stuff” matters a lot more to me.
Overall, the trailer game me a warm feeling, so I think it did it’s job for me.
