Or… It’s Shazam!

They did just announce his movie release date… Maybe its the first appearance… Long shot I know, I was just thinking alternatives as to who it could be… Either that or its the Red Hulk…

Actually that makes perfect sense. I also think they’re hinting at Kal’s return, but that they also intend to have an extra player who is not Superman. We know Henry is in the movie in some form, but there has been a considerable lack of Superman in the promo stuff and Henry wasn’t at the signing yesterday. The movie is only a few months away from release, which makes Superman’s absence a bit suspect. There are also rumours of a Lantern showing up at some point, but Captain Marvel makes more sense.

I’m still very excited for this movie, but I must say that I’m disappointed in the amount of Cgi progression from MOS to JL. Waaaay too much.

Also disappointed that we’re getting shazam, batgirl, ww2 and ss2 all before a MOS2. They’ve already given away that he’s coming back, why not announce a plan for him? Please don’t turn him into the hulk of the DCU.

Well. I’m not so sure we have to wait that long. It seems that even tho we pretty well know that Supes returns in JL, they’re doing their best to keep a lid on that until the release. I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear some MOS2 news in November after the opening weekend.

This is entirely a rumour and should be treated as such, but Jane Goldman, Matthew Vaughn’s screenwriter, was asked about writing a new Superman movie (with Vaughn directing). Her answer was… interesting.

Them not announcing a new Superman movie was certainly worrisome, but I’m not ready to throw in the towel just yet. Especially with the Flash movie doing Flashpoint, which may cause ripples to the entirety of the DCEU.

I don’t understand the aversion to Superman. Im honestly tired of people acting like he is so hard to write for. I hope we get VAughn, but I can do without a writer who doesn’t care for the character. We’ll see what happens in the coming months, but my fear is that they’re going to minimize his inclusion in the universe. Geoff johns said himself yesterday that they’re more interested in expanding the bat universe(honestly, just give me a good batman movie.., I don’t need batgirl or Harley Quinn spin offs.) We should have had a superman sequel by now.… Read more »

I think she was just being careful; you don’t want to blow the lid off these kinds of projects, when there hasn’t been confirmation from the studio. Maybe she just blurted something out about the script and was trying to walk it back, which would explain why she’s borderline incoherent.

PS: Since you brought it up, BvS was a Superman movie. Well, the full version of the film at least. It’s Superman that holds the movie together thematically and has a complete character arc.

Though I’m clamoring for a solo Superman movie myself, don’t get me wrong.

CG still needs a little polishing, both on Cyborg and Steppenwolf. Other than that, this was tons of fun. I was a little worried about the Flash, but he actually looks and sounds pretty good. Wally would’ve been a better pick for this characterization, but Barry’ll do. Lanterns are referenced in the trailer, which is I think the first time we have full confirmation the Corps exists somewhere and we should be looking forward to a GL movie sooner or later. The music in the trailer is a remix of “What are you going to do, when you’re not saving… Read more »

Yes, I really think it is Kal. You kinda can see at the bottom right corner the red cape over the left shoulder. Besides, seriouslly. Who in the hell would deserve that last minute entrance to war?

I think it would be cool if Batman is like Superman’s John the Baptist in this movie. He spends the whole film reminding everyone of Superman’s teachings and saying he’ll be back to save us when we need him most.

Also, this trailer looks like a Jim Lee comic come to life. And that’s a good thing.

Hmm, so, in a secret place, a magic box summons an evil god, necessitating the formation of a team of heroes. Where have I seen that before…?

I couldn’t help but think of Jurassic park when Alfred’s cup of water started vibrating at the end of the trailer.

Wow more -1?
On each of my posts? Really?
Most of those I’m just pointing out stories that would make really good animated flicks. I’m starting to think that whoever is giving me the -1s is doing it to be funny.

This is strange, my previous post was meant for the comments on the Death and return of superman page and instead it was sent here.

This looked AWESOME! I’m glad we don’t see Superman, Saving his return for the big screen will make it all the more epic!… I mean we all know he is in it. I loved the references to “There is no Green Lanterns, no Kryptonian”… Makes me think all the more, that Lex was influenced by Apokolips to have Superman killed. Also loved that there is an adaption of “What are you going to do, when you’re not saving the world” theme from the Man of Steel soundtrack. And for all those like myself that felt a tad let down that… Read more »

Aquaman’s bad… Bad @$$!

Mamoa is such a great choice! I was fortunate to meet him once at a con. Way back when he was on Game of Thrones! One of the most pleasant people I’ve ever met!

i swear that at 1:41 that they hint at Supergirl…
i am so overly excited to see this! Snyder used to be known for his slow motion shots, but in MOS there were none. i’ve always wanted to see Superman do something cool in slow motion. i hope we get some sweet supes action! btw, is it just me or does Gal Gadot get more beautiful in every movie?

This trailer looks great! I was already excited before when we saw the last trailer. But now I’m even more hyped up by this new trailer! Like most are saying, it’s probably Superman at the end of the trailer talking to Alfred. I can’t wait for his epic return in the film. I’m looking forward to it!

This looks better and better each time I’ve watched it. There has already been close to 7 million hits on Youtube all ready.
Alfred’s last line, ” you said you’d come. Let’s “HOPE” your not too late! You know…..they play a lot of games with these trailers, and you never know, but that looked an awful lot like Superman.

They meant to tease Superman. That doesn’t mean this scene actually involves Superman (or that it’s in the movie at all), but that’s who they are teasing there.

I’ve seen speculation that Superman will come after the events of the movie and be there for the sequel, which would actually line up with the lack of an announcement regarding a solo Superman movie. Rumours have been very vague regarding Superman’s actual role in this movie, so I guess it’s all still up in the air.

I can see a bit of what could be a red cape at end that makes me think it’s Big Blue for sure… also read a comment somewhere that there’s a green reflection in Alfred’s glasses… maybe it’s both Superman and Green Lantern at end?? That would be freaking incredible!

That poster is so Alex Ross. And the footage has me having more faith that it will be a great film. Finally the JL has been long overdue to hit cinemas.

I think it’s the right move to keep Supes under wraps until the premiere, but this amazing poster would be SO MUCH cooler with Kal front and center. Next time, I hope.

I find it interesting and hopeful that they may be opening the universe wider. From 1:20 to 1:40ish. Is that a Steppenwolf voice making the assumption he’s come to a different Earth world? ‘No Lanterns, no Kryptonian here?’ As if he’s come to a different universe of superheroes? That gives me hope that we may see alternative film interpretations and universe hopping in the future. Maybe WB and writers saving themselves?! (I always thought this universe felt too rushed) And who knows maybe a new Superman in the future….?

I love the way Batman is lit in that poster… All he’s missing is the yellow oval behind the bat on his chest! Straight Outta Super Powers!!!

July 23, 2017 7:33 am

During a live blog of this, Gal Godot says “We can’t say much, but if you’re a big fan of Superman, you’re going to be very, very happy with JUSTICE LEAGUE.”

July 23, 2017 11:00 am

Is it possible Batman is responsible for Supermans resurrection
so that Alfred isn’t completely shocked to see him there in the
Batcave? Perhaps Batman felt responsible for his death somewhat.

July 23, 2017 11:05 am

Batman goes from trying to kill Superman to being responsible
for his resurrection using advanced Wayne Enterprises technology.
Which is why Alfred says, he said you would come.

i’ve watched this many, many times now and i swear i keep seeing subliminal superman symbols hidden in the trailer…for instance when the flash is pushing through glass, one of the shards is in the shape of the shield. thoughts?
