Good. Smart, WB. Not even a mention. Save him for last (he is the best after all). Mention him in the next trailer and show us a glimpse of his cape or S-shield in the final one. No face, though…

weren’t WW/aquaman/cyborg in a walkway that looked like the insides of a kryptonian ship from MOS

Looks great, but one gripe… I wish they had stuck with the cinematographer from MOS. I really dug the real world look that movie had because it made it seem more realistic. This looks like every other Zack Snyder cgi movie.

I agree, it’s like Sucker Punch quality some 9 or so years later. Great for video game cut scenes, not so much for movies, it’s getting old and I think audiences are getting tired of it. Granted they have about 7 months or so to dial it down. Don’t get wrapped around the axel of this being a Marvel film but I respect how Logan was all more low budget, real and gritty. We had more of that it with Man of Steel, less with BvS and now it seems like none in JL. I’d like Vaughn to keep it… Read more »

no doubt the color and cgi will be a complaint from critics and fans once the movie comes out. It honestly looks like it’s taking place in the Matrix world when they’re flying around in the ships. I really want to be positive and I agree with you that the characterization of Aquaman and Flash look amazing, but yeah not excited for the video game looking world the movie seems to be taking place.
I’m not a fan of Larry Fong’s style at all. I know it’s not him this time, but the new guy said he would emulate him.

Good eye! I noticed that too! I just cant still believe that these character are fighting in the real world. Its really a shame! I’m looking forward more to the WW movie because Zack Snyder still doesn’t get it yet. Hope JL makes money and do a good job entertain the audience still this is for sure ZS last movie as a director in DCU.

i really wonder if they’ll do some kind of version of Flashpoint or Rebirth at the end of the film to kind of close out the zack Snyder phase of the universe and pave way for the Reeves, Wan and hopefully VAughn versions of the universe. This feels Kind of like Zacks last stamp before it heads in a completely new direction so I kind of hope that happens. I agree, it doesn’t seem like a real world at all. Even them on top of the building talking to commissioner Gordon looked weird and unnatural. Loved the way everything looked… Read more »

I’ve heard this before, but I don’t quite see why they would need to distance themselves from what Snyder has done. The general audience really doesn’t care, it can end up far more confusing for them and there isn’t nearly enough baggage in DCEU to justify it. Subsequent creators can come in and do their thing, with their own direction and aesthetic and I don’t think it will clash at all with what we already have.

i don’t think they need to distance themselves, but as a director you want to bring your own style to something and not be beholden to someone else’s vision and look. Otherwise what’s the point of coming on? That being said, it’s not confusing, but it just seems like this is a completely different world than what we saw in MOS, which had a look that I really liked because it looked so realistic. That’s just a personal preference though. Some might prefer this look and that’s okay too.

Some of this is what worries me that WB/DC tends to not learn the right lessons from their mistakes. The problem wasn’t the realistic asthetic (besides the excessive blue filter). It was the tone and making certain choices for shock value – plus not allowing Superman to have enough upbeat moments spread out in the films to give the heavier stuff more weight or be any kind of leader in his choices. But so far, it looks like “jokes and a less realistic visual” is what they’ve learned. I’m not saying that they haven’t learned the right lessons – that… Read more »

I’m on the record saying that WB tends to operate on knee-jerk reactions, so I certainly understand your concern. Having said that, if we’re talking Superman-only, it’s unlikely this will be a problem in a possible sequel. If they do follow Man of Steel up, it will probably be with a different director, who will most likely take an entirely different approach. If we’re talking Justice League, both these movies are extremely difficulty to screw up to any extend that matters. A lot of the blowback that followed BvS can be attributed to the fact that Snyder felt he had… Read more »

I’m speaking more about Justice League. Before seeing MoS and BvS, I’d have agreed that it’d be hard to screw up JL. Having seen them, though… I don’t know. This looks like an improvement, but so did the 2nd BvS trailer. Not sure on the reason for the blowback, though – I’d argue that the problem wasn’t the “something” that Snyder wanted to say with BvS, but how he chose to say it, and then how it was edited. IMO, the same idea of a story could be told in a (imo) better way that would garner mass appeal. Much… Read more »

I don’t really trust that they’ve learned anything from their mistakes either. It really wouldn’t surprise me at all if they thought the big solution to their problem is to have a joke quota instead of geuinely examining their approach.

I don’t, for the record; I’d rather have the look of MoS myself. I do see the point of switching aesthetics in BvS, even if by necessity; I think it fits that movie. Really, all I’m saying is that a new director won’t really be limited by what has come before. The worst thing about the whole situation is that they can’t do Death and Return now as maybe they would have liked to and they PROBABLY can’t go back on the romance, if they wished to do the traditional Superman-Lois-Clark love triangle. Otherwise, they only have the origin story… Read more »

This looks fantastic. I cannot wait. I’m already excited about Wonder Woman’s solo film, and now Justice League looks good too. Of course, it’s going to be magnificent when Superman comes back and helps the team. They’re saving the best for last, which is Superman.

Additionally, I’m excited to see this version of The Flash, and I’m especially excited to see Aquaman. I hope he butts heads with Batman and puts the hurt on him at first (which puts Batman in check and lets him know Aquaman doesn’t have a weakness for him to exploit).

That was awesome. I love how Ray Fisher plays Victor Stone / Cyborg in the trailer and sounds just like he does in the when he appears the animated series.

Looks great. Regarding Superman, we might not see him in any capacity in JL1. Might be saving him for JL2. Now that GG has had her baby and gets herself back into WW shape we need to hear when JL2 is back on the books. Then we should (might) see Superman back at the helm.

Superman is in it, Henry was filming for it on set, they released the collectable statues for the film with Superman, the first promotional image has Superman, the source code on the JL website has Superman and Snyder has already said: “It’s hard to have a Justice League without Superman. That’s how I feel about it. It was always a super-intriguing concept to me to have this opportunity to have him make that sacrifice but also have him be this, in a weird sort of way, the why of Justice League: What do you do now with him? What does… Read more »

Good trailer. There’s no doubt there’s a lighter touch to the movie and the action looks crazy.

Going to have to disagree with most as I thought it looked dark and depressing with some quips thrown in. Which leads me to believe that the filmmakers and WB learned the wrong lessons yet again. SMH.

This does look great and I have no doubt it will be. But my underlying problem is that they were supposed to do JL1 and JL2 back to back. Since they postponed (canceled?) JL2 we’re only going to see Superman in a limited capacity. And with nothing else on the books so it could very well be the last time we see him. It would have been great to have 1 coming out this year and 2 next year. But since there’s nothing announced it may be another three years if they decide to proceed.

That’s not exactly the case, as far as I know. They didn’t cancel (or really postpone) JL2, it’s still slated for production (assuming JL1 turns in a satisfactory performance); what they did was drop “Part I” from this movie, which pointed to the two JL films being one story split into two parts. The two movies weren’t going to be filmed simultaneously anyway, so worst-case-scenario, they’ll attempt to wrap up this story in one movie, instead of two.

I loved this trailer. It was the perfect way to introduce the movie. And, I’m hoping they don’t show Superman until the final shot of the very last trailer…and only then it would be his eyes suddenly opening. Nothing else. We all know he’s coming back. Even the general audience knows he’s not going to stay dead. So, let’s leave the suspense of the how and why for the movie. Less is more in this case. The tone has very much shifted. How much of that is due to BvS is up for debate as they were only weeks away… Read more »

Still have a bad feeling he’s going to end up being a villain via a slog through a mind control plot or Snyder deciding doing the Injustice thing would be kewler because dark.
