I was actually a little surprised to discover that the cell-phone video clip wasn’t a Snyder scene. I thought it was a good way to open the movie (even if the CGI work on Henry’s facial hair leaves a lot to be desired). The rooftop fight with Batman is good enough that it only underlines how well-suited movie Batman is to grimy, street-level crime fighting, and how out-of-place he seems in a large-scale cosmic battle for the fate of the planet.

I thought the opening of the film was good. His explanation on the S “it comes and goes”I couldn’t help but think of the song karma chameleon.

Oh god. It’s easy to miss or ignore in the theater, but now that it’s staring me in the face… holy #*&^% , this is wretched. He literally looks like Jack Napier in 1989’s “Batman”. I don’t know why they’re releasing this in South Korea already and I don’t know if they’ll put out an extended edition, a Snyder cut or whatever (they should, but anyway); whatever they do, they *have* to touch these scenes up again for the home release. This is the opening shot of the movie. This is the literal first impression one gets when they watch… Read more »

Completely agreed. I really enjoyed JL, but Jack Napier is EXACTLY what I thought of when I saw his way-too-hard cheeklines.

Looks like he’s recuperating from rank dental work. But good lord it’s so obvious! Did it come out this bad because this was the BEST they could fix it or is this the result of a cheap way out?

Allegedly this particular scene wasn’t done by the same VFX team that did the rest of the film, so more than likely this was one of the last scenes that went through post.

I was seeing these 3 minutes and suddenly i remember the feelings the movie leave in me,i was happy i liked the movie, not perfect but not so ugly like most reviews say,(and killed the money earned by the movie)and today i see the new Star Wars, that all reviews say is sooo good, yes is a good battle movie, but i see a copy again, this time of ep V and VI together!they have treat Luke without respect,a powerful full jedi used in this way, bleah! What i mean is i liked both of them, why Justice league is butchered by critics instead Star Wars no?!there is… Read more »

It’s ironic that you mentioned Star Wars. I saw it the other night, and I was bored for the most of it. People said that the plot was thin and full of holes for JL… Last Jedi was worse.
But of course, critics and “fans” will love it…

I agree with you about Snoak, he was more plot-less than what the critics said about Steppenwolf!

My goodness, the CGI on Henry’s face is so horrendous and cringeworthy. I feel so bad for Henry. What an injustice.

The point it’s not that a movie can like or not,the taste are different for any of us,but i don’t understand the butchering around, and in particular for the dc comics movies and comics, because they say marvel is the house of ideas, but if look it’s Dc that every year is trying to do somenthing new, but marvel is always better… the same for the movies, they use avengers for an example and say is better of JL,but it is only an averrated movie, but is marvel…they say this last SW movies are better of the prequels, but that movies have heart, the heart of… Read more »

Oh!i was forgetting.. Steppenwolf is not the best enemy, but in the plan of zack snyder was intended to give room after he was defeated again to darkseid in JL2 but they cut him from the movie!!what better way to ruin a movie!?and there was too many fun monents that i can see are not from the original cut,but the best one is the one with the WW lazo with Aquaman..even in the new Star Wars there too many gag,and you see the “sisters”on the island of luke…nnnoooo, and they continue to argue on Jar Jar binks, but these one are not worse???!!this… Read more »

Dude, stop talking about stuff that’s in Star Wars… some of us haven’t seen it and don’t want to know yet.

Ok sorry….But really i don’t understand the judgemnet on the movies, pratically they killed Justice League with negative reviews, the movie don’t deserve this treatment, and there are magnificent reviews on Star Wars that i think it don’t deserve, but Disney have the power…and now with the purchase of Fox….

I found this to be some what amusing. Rotten Tomatoes critics trashed the JL and praised Star Wars. The movie going audience for the most part liked the Justice League but gave Star Wars a lower rating than JL!

You guys seriously need to quit worrying about rotten tomatoes and the like. At the end of the day , It only matters if YOU enjoyed it. Comparing it to the reception of other movies is pointless. I still don’t understand why people feel they have to bring down other movies to prop up JL or BvS. You can enjoy both, one or none. Some are going to be better than others. The comments on here are starting to veer into conspiracy theory territory.

I agree with the core sentiment of your argument, but it should be noted the RT score matters, because studios (and audiences) trust it. That’s my concern, at least; it’s a broken system that can potentially bury DC comic book movies for a decade.

I’m not saying it doesn’t effect the movie at all, but I think at this point the WB execs are clearly more at fault for the current state of DC films. There’s no reason they could not have taken their time with Justice League and the rushed product is made pretty clear by the video above. I tend to judge movies by the rewatchability factor… while movies like the first two Chris Reeve movies and MOS have proven to be very rewatchable, others like Superman returns and BvS have proven to not be. Not to say there aren’t things in… Read more »

Again, I don’t disagree with you, I’m just saying that RT needs a system overhaul, because I question its usefulness in its current state. Also, for the record, I actually find the critic score for JL pretty accurate overall; which puts me at odds with my opinions regarding MoS and BvS, which I thought wwere unfairly judged in the critical consensus score. Funny thing that doesn’t relate to anything; I also judge movies by rewatchability and it’s BvS and SR that I find more rewatchable than the Donner movies, MoS and JL. It doesn’t relate to this discussion at all,… Read more »

Sure, rotten tomatoes definitely could use a overhaul, but again I’m not going to blame justice league‘s shortcomings on the site. There are many many factors and reasons why that movie didn’t do as well as it should have. We as superman fans and DC fans need to have a little perspective. Yes we are in disbelief because we can’t believe that this movie got such a low score but that is Because we love the characters. To the average moviegoer to the average fan the movie does not stand out in the genre. Was it entertaining? Absolutely, but it’s… Read more »

Other than Rotten Tomatoes, are there any other web sites that critique movies? If there are, I’m wondering what they said about JL. I’m not a person who goes by what critics say, so I don’t know if there’s any other site other than Rotten Tomatoes. Is there?

RT doesn’t critique movies but rather collects and pools ratings from across the web and lists the median value. Which is why RT should be rather blameless of anything and when people complain it’s ruining the movie industry, I don’t follow their logic.

Whenever you see someone’s review, it says “click here to read the full review” and then it links to a 3rd party website.

The only real issue is when someone goes against the “crowd” and posts a dissenting opinion to get views (which happens a lot on the bigger movies).

Oh yea there is. But not one that captures a group the way RT does. There’s a lot of other separate reviewers. And most were I hate to say it, closer to what was on RT’s than opposite.
