And this was deleted why? We couldn’t afford the additional 45 seconds of film when we had to be sure to squeeze in the Russian family for… reasons?

Why did the door shut on the suit?

Because he never picked the suit your asking about! It’s obvious he is looking at the blue and red, that’s why he bypasses 2 suits.

Because we walked past it. If you watch the clip again you will notice that two bays open; one with some exo-suit first, then the black suit one as he goes by. If you listen closely you can hear the first door close before the one with the black suit does. Think of it as the door sensors at the super-market… nobody there, the door closes.

Did he say that? I never got the impression that it raised the stakes at all… It seems to me that the threat of wiping out most of the life on the planet or turning them into parademons was pretty high stakes anyway. Not to mention that Steppenwolf killed more employees of Star Labs than that family represented.

I believe that this was possibly a tease for the future… Maybe MoS 2. I dont think he ever was meant to don the suit for JL, but tease for whats coming up!

I don’t think he was ever going to wear it.
Like even if there were some plan Snyder had where he “might” have worn it, why? Just to have it on?
But anything that was planned for this DC Films universe by Snyder have been scrapped.

Lord knows what else is on the floor after Zack’s efforts were butchered. It’s just a tremendous shame that the movie got all the crappy press it did. I don’t know who made all the final decisions but whoever it was should NEVER be allowed to have any say again. I’m so curious to know how different it would have turned out if Zack had finished it. In a movie of this caliber, the distractions such as the mustache fiasco should never had been allowed to be seen as it was so obvious. Man…. we need a real MoS sequel.

Kevin Tsujihara and Toby Emmerich are the men you’re looking for. They’ve been the true villains of the universe thus far. This film was rushed out so they could get bonuses. Unfortunately they’re not going anywhere anytime soon and the asinine decisions keep happening. Did you see they might get Michael Bay for Lobo and the directors of Vacation (terrible and I mean terrible movie) to do Flash? God help us.

Looks like there could have been a number of suits on that scout ship, is the first one that appears the same as the one Zod etc wears when he’s on a different planet? Looks like Zack could be a fan of the animated universe, for instance having Jim Gordon look like the animated version, introducing Mercy Graves and now having multiple suits (for multiple purposes?) just like S:TAS.

Then why did have to kill half of Superman’s cast or worse make them stupid? Make Batman a homicidal maniac? Lex Luthor a lunatic? Butcher two of DC’s best stories in “Death of Superman” and “Dark Knight Returns” into one lame movie?

Zack didn’t actually write the movies, he just directed them. That’s on the writers heads… Goyer and Terrio!

Playing Devils advocate, even if he is a fan, he has a clear misunderunstanding of the characters. It’s a surface level admiration and that shows as he favored their appearance over their character. He also showed this with Watchmen… while that movie appeared to be the comic leaping of the pages, he missed a lot of the subtext of the book and had a complete misunderstanding of some of the characters. He likes the Meathead versions of characters, all brawn and not much else going on. I don’t let Goyer or Terrio off the hook either, in fact I think… Read more »

Now can we finally put this to bed?
The black suit was just hanging up, he never wore it. And that was a Snyder scene. There never was a long sequence where he had a black suit, not even in Snyder’s version.

Exactly, the black suit is exactly what I thought it would be….just a black version of the suit he wears and not the regeneration suit from the comics. Its basically one of the many easter egg’s that Zack Snyder puts into a lot of his movies to please the fans.

There was never any question on whether or not he ever wore it. There wouldn’t be time for him to wear it, after WB axed the second part of Justice League. The point has always been that he probably was going to wear it (and maybe even shot a couple of scenes in it) very early during filming, before WB merged the two films into one.

That’s quite fair. In theatres Supes comes back with a new suit out of nowhere while his older one got broken. That might be part of the deleted scenes after Warner executives decided the movie was too long.

I believe it the ship that Clark finds in the ice, been on Earth 20,000 years or so…

As for the suit, I’m guessing the command key Clark used, that manufactured his suit for MoS had something to do with it, and when the key was revoked by Zod, it may have created one for him, if one survival suit was not already on the ship to begin with.

In all three movies that Cavill has been in, his version of superman has worn at least 4 different versions of the suit. In Man of steel there was the one he wore threw out the duration of his time as superman. There was also the dark suit he wore in the dream sequence with Zod. Although that suit I wouldn’t nessarily count, since it was a dream sequence. In batman v superman, he had a different version of the one he wore in the first movie. The belt buckle changed from an oval shape to a rectangle. In justice league… Read more »

This scene should have been included within the film. I cannot understand the logic of cutting it down. We do not know how he acquired the suit in the first place and next what we are shown is him wearing it.
But then…What is done has been done.

I was thanking those who had tried to answer my questions. What’s wrong with that? Why was I given negative votes for honest questions about the film? I can’t see why anyone would give negative votes for someone who is thanking others. And same can be said about what I said about the suit. I admitted I was wrong about there being only one suit. I don’t necessarily blame Whedon for this (his adding the family was necessary, though sloppy), but can we take a moment to appreciate how different this scene is compared to the rest of Justice League? It feels like it’s from a different movie altogether. It’s quiet, it’s introspective, it lets the character communicate through movement and expression instead of speech and lets the audience absorb the moment.

A far cry from the glorified Saturday morning cartoon in which nobody could shut their mouths for two seconds, because they had to wisecrack.

Your right on some level as far as the disappointments are concerned. I wouldn’t say the entire movie was a disappointment but there was enough almost “missing” and this scene is part of that. For the heads at the WB to OK the release of this movie, it almost points to them not caring. You can feel it and see it making it even more hard to swallow. But in saying that, I am going to buy it and will hopefully enjoy(as much as one can) watching it again. Obvious faults and all.
