Warner Bros. Pushes “DC Super Pets” Movie Back to 2022

Warner Bros. has announced that the proposed “DC Super Pets” movie has been pushed back a full year to May 22, 2022.

Originally scheduled to be released on May 21, 2021, that date has now been taken by the recently announced “John Wick Chapter 4” film starring Keanu Reeves.

“DC Super Pets”, from directors Jared Stern and Sam Levine and producer Patty Hicks, is based on characters like Krypto the Super Dog, Streaky the Super Cat, Beppo the Super Monkey and Comet the Super Horse. The Super Pets concept has been around since “Adventure Comics #293” (dated February 1962), and have also been seen in animated form across a number of cartoon and animated series over the years.

It’s not known yet whether the upcoming “Super Pets” movie will be based on DC’s “Legion of Super-Pets” or the Cartoon Network series, or whether it will be something completely fresh and new. With very little details available as yet, we’ll have to wait and see just how many of the Superman family of Super Pets will be included in the film.
