when I first read the quote from him concerning “truth, justice, and the American way” through here, i was excited… but now, after hearing it in context of what Bendis is talking about… not so much

I think he’s spot on with respect to truth, justice and the american way. Personally I have never viewed that phrase Superman’s endorsement of any particular administration or that it means America is always right or above all others. I also consider Superman a defender of the world and not just America but America is his where he lives and where he was raised so obviously it’s a place that means a lot to him and where he was shown humanities potential for goodness through Johnathan and Martha Kent and all his friends that he would meet later. I agree completely with the part of the “American Way”. Superman works better when he is not an american. With that I mean exactly what they did when he rejectecd american citicenship. He didn’t belong to a country, he belongs to the world. And this should be reflected more in the comics. I agree too with the Clark Kent part. We need to see more from him. In this Rebirth/Reborn era Clark has become his child’s caretaker. We all know he is currently one of the 2 best reporters but we just see him taking care of the family. He… Read more »
