Unused Metallo Revealed and Lead Smoke Bomb Confirmed for “Batman v Superman”

Concept artist Robert McKinnon shared the following image from early concept art produced for “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”.

The image shows Superman villain Metallo, who appears to have been either an idea for an extra villain in the movie, or perhaps a replacement for Doomsday.

In another bit of “Batman v Superman” news, director Zack Snyder has confirmed via his Vero account that Batman did indeed use a lead-based smoke grenade to confuse Superman.

Upon the release of the film some fans were speculating at Superman’s inability to see where Batman had gone when deploying the smoke bomb, while Snyder further confirms that he had shot an extended sequence in which Bruce Wayne was experimenting with the use of lead after finding information amongst Lex Luthor’s files.

What exactly is the lethality range of kryptonite for Superman? 50 feet? I could see Superman standing off against this foe and easily defeating him using his heat vision beams, Superman freeze breath, superspeed to create a cyclone around Metallo that would suffocate him, throwing projectiles at high velocity to keep him off balance, etc.

How in the world could you have a cloud of lead?
