Young Justice: Episode Reviews

Season 1 - Episode 17: "Disordered"

4Rating - 4 (out of 5): What a fantastic episode despite it not tying into the Light. I know I said the last episode felt aimless but this at least introduced some potential new story-lines that could go somewhere.

I really liked how they brought the Sphere back into play here. I hadn't even been thinking of its origins. And it had a tremendous role to play, even more so than the episode where it is introduced (or should I say "she").

I always have liked the stories involving the New Gods. I hope to see more of this in future episodes. We get introduced to the Forever People and Infinity Man. And we get to see a Superboy-centric episode that doesn't necessarily detract from the rest of the team.

Desaad was voiced brilliantly by Dee Bradley Baker (seriously Google this guy he does everything nowadays). I don't remember him having a super huge Popeye arm but then again I'm not super well versed in his lore. His voice was just the right amount of sliminess.

I am glad they didn't leave the last one completely isolated to itself and allowed that story to be involved in other episodes to show the effect that this incident had on the team.

I am curious to find out who the mole is and also how the team will react to that revelation.

I was sad for Superboy at the end. His whining seems to be more understandable based on the fact that he hasn't had the wide range of emotional experiences the others have had. He has come a long way and continues to grow. Kudos to this episode.

My only complaint was I still feel like they need to have a better sense of urgency for this season I'm almost afraid we'll just get an episode or two for the finale when it could be stretched out to 3 or more episodes.
