5Rating - 5 (out of 5): It's rare that a show receives high marks two weeks in a row, but Supergirl has been thankfully, that show. All of the CW shows have the running theme of "what makes a hero," but the challenge for Supergirl will be to answer that query in a convincing manner. Kara's reaction to Jimmy and Winn's activities, is not merely surprising, it is flat out hypocritical. She goes so far as to warn to stop, or she'll shut them down herself. It will be interesting to see where this drive comes from, but equally heady was Kara confronting Mon-El on his motivations for being a hero, and her frustrated reaction when learning it's all for her. Supergirl is in the curious position of having to deal with results of her being an inspirational figure, and learning of the potency of an idea unleashed to take proper shape and form.

I've been on record that Supergirl needed a villain, and that was nearly supplied by Livewire, until she stopped being bad and went anti-hero. Why writers want great villains (Lex Luthor, Venom, Maleficent, etc.) to become likable antiheroes, as opposed to the wicked and vile things that they really are. It's not easy being a hero, and it is equally challenging to create and maintain a villain of any calibre. There is still a lot of show to go, so hopefully this aspect of Supergirl can be righted, but as the show is moving right along without it, it's not very likely.
