Our Story:
It's been three months since Clark left Smallville for Metropolis after donning a Red Kryptonite ring and forsaking everyone he knew. Clark is known in the city by the name "Kal", and he's breaking into ATMs stealing cash, buying expensive cars and then giving them away to doormen at the club Atlantis where he hangs out now. One night at the club however the "S" that was branded on his chest by his biological father's science starts painfully glowing and throbbing and the only relief Clark gets is when he takes off the Red Kryptonite ring. He calls home but can't bring himself to talk to his Mother. He puts the ring back on and returns to his evil ways.
The next day a gang in clown masks is robbing a bank when a masked Clark barges in and takes their loot from them forcibly. He leaves the bank with the money only to find the Metropolis police telling him to surrender. In response he explodes police cars with his heat-vision and disappears with the money. Pa Kent wants to go get Clark and bring him home but Martha tells him Clark must return of his own free will. Chloe and Lana discuss Clark and Lana admits she loves him and she intends to search for him despite Chloe advising her to forget Clark the way he seems to have forgotten all of them.
In the city, the biggest crime boss in town is Morgan Edge, and he meets with Clark promising him a giant payday if he'll commit a very special crime for him. Chloe meets secretly with Lionel Luthor and he chides Chloe for not finding out enough about Clark as she agreed to in exchange for getting a column in the Daily Planet. After the jet crash following his wedding, Lex has ended up on a deserted island with a mysterious savior named "Louis" who has helped him survive the hardships there. Louis tries to convince Lex that his wife Helen set him up to die in the plane crash but Lex doesn't want to hear it.
Back in Smallville, Lionel Luthor is holding a memorial service for Lex when Helen shows up to claim everything Lex owned as his lawful widow. Lana sees Clark attending at the back of the crowd but he vanishes before she can reach him. Chloe goes to Metropolis and meets Clark at his apartment. It seems she found him months ago and he made her promise to keep quiet about it or he will again disappear. Chloe tells Clark his parents are losing their farm and that Lana misses him badly. Clark's scar begins to glow and he makes Chloe leave and then removes the Red K ring to stop the pain.
Back at Lex's mansion, Lionel confronts Helen Luthor and tells her he knows she set Lex up to die and take his fortune and he warns her that he's a bigger foe then Lex and he will avenge his son. As they argue, Lex struggles to survive on the island. Clark visits the farm secretly and hears his parents talking about their love for him and making plans for after they lose the farm. When they hear him upstairs listening they run to greet him but he flees the farm once again. Chloe goes to Lana and admits she found Clark months ago which angers Lana. Chloe gives Clark's address to Lana and she leaves for Metropolis to face Clark.
Once there she tells Clark she's not leaving him until he returns home and they ride off together in the city. Lana calls Clark's parents telling them she's found Clark but Clark catches her in the act and leaves her and goes to tell Morgan Edge he'll commit crimes for him. Edge tells Clark he wants him to break into the vault in Lionel Luthor's office and steal a small container for him and Clark gladly agrees to do so. Pa Kent takes the key to Clark's ship to the Indian caves in Smallville to try and activate the mechanisms there to get help in bringing Clark home. He succeeds and Jor-El explains to Pa Kent that he will have to risk his life in doing so and when he agrees Pa is blasted with strange energy rays.
Back on the island Lex and Louis get into a fight with Louis trying to kill Lex. Suddenly their fight is interrupted by a fishing vessel spotting Lex's signal fire. When the crew finds Lex it turns out he was hallucinating Louis the whole time he was trapped there. In the city, Clark has broken into the vault in Lionel Luthor's office when he is confronted by his Father who tells him he's taking him home. Clark knocks Pa Kent away, but Pa gets up and amazingly runs at super-speed into Clark knocking them both out the window of the office and they plummet together towards the ground 60 stories below!

Our Story:
Pa Kent has been given temporary super-powers like Clarks to try and bring him home from Metropolis where Clark's evil side has become dominant due to his wearing a red kryptonite ring. Pa catches Clark stealing a container from Lionel Luthor's office vault and using super-speed he tackles Clark straight through the window and they fall 60 stories to crash into an underground garage. There, they fight using their powers causing wholesale destruction and battering each other back and forth. Finally Clark grabs Pa and is about to kill him when he instead smashes the kryptonite ring to pieces restoring his true personality. Pa's powers vanish in a flash and he collapses in Clark's arms who takes him home to the farm and a worried Ma Kent.
Lex has just been rescued from the island he was stranded on and he confronts his Father who convinces Lex he had nothing to do with his attempted murder on his honeymoon flight. Pa and Clark discover that the container he stole contained the vial of Clark's blood stolen from Dr. Bryce's office months ago. Pa Kent smashes the vial and tells Clark they'll help him face his problems together as a family should. Lionel Luthor meets with Morgan Edge and it turns out they're old aquaintances. They discuss the blood Edge had Clark steal from Luthor and Lionel tells Edge to get the vial back for him.
Clark meets Lana and apologizes for his past behavior and tells her he doesn't want to hurt her ever again. Lex confronts Helen about the plane crash and she says the pilot robbed them and she panicked and parachuted from the jet leaving Lex aboard. Lex tells Helen he wants them to start over fresh and try a second honeymoon which surprises Helen, but she agrees. Morgan Edge traces Clark to the farm that the family is losing and then tells him he wants the blood. Clark grabs him and threatens to tear Morgan apart if he ever returns to bother him again.
Clark is packing the Kent's belongings when Lex arrives and the two friends are glad to see each other is allright. Lex offers to help the family out of their financial problems but Clark reminds Lex his father would probably refuse. Chloe and Lana talk about Clark's darker side and they agree they don't know as much about him as they thought. Morgan Edge returns and takes Clark's parents hostage to make Clark return the vial of blood. Clark tells him he can't as it was detroyed but he takes Kryptonite and purposely weakens himself and cuts his arm giving Edge a new sample of his blood. Edge returns to Meropolis with the blood and makes a deal with Luthor to give him the blood's donor for a substantial payment.
Edge's thugs tape the Kryptonite to Clark's chest and throw him in a truck and one drives him towards the city. Lana arrives and when the second thug grabs her, she fights him off freeing the Kents. Lex and Helen are on their second honeymoon flight when Lex suddenly confronts Helen telling her he knows it was she who set him up to die the first time. Helen admits it and takes out a gun to shoot Lex with. They struggle and the gun goes off shooting the pilot and the jet falls earthward. As Lex runs to and takes over the controls, Helen uses the opportunity to parachute away from the jet and Lex's vengeance.
Morgan Edge is waiting on a waterfront dock as the truck arrives with Clark inside. But Clark has freed himself and mages to throw the Kryptonite away from himself. He then uses his heat-vision and causes a propane tank in the truck to explode the truck in a huge ball of flame. Lex thinks Edge set him up to die and in response their bodyguards start a shoot-out with each other. Edge is shot and falls into the water and disappears from sight. After Lionel Luthor leaves, Clark emerges from the water unhurt and glad to have escaped intact. Back at the mansion, Lionel meets Lex and congratulates him for his handling of Helen and Lex tells his father he wants to go to work with his father at Luthorcorp and learn all he can from him. Though he's skeptical, he accepts Lex's offer and the two share a wary embrace as father and son.
Lex arrives the next day at the farm and hands the deed for it over to Jonathan Kent who swears he will somehow pay Lex back, but Lex tells him he would be happy if the Kents simply accepted him as an extended family member. Lana comes to see Clark and he tells her that he's now sure that she could never handle knowing the whole truth about him, especially the dark side that she saw in Metropolis. He thought all these years that they could make a happy relationship work but he's now convinced it will never work between them. Lana sadly accepts Clark's decision and rides away.

Lex Luthor: Michael Rosenbaum
Jake Pollan: Harris Allan

Our Story:
A young man at school is enamored of Lana enough to follow her to the school pool that night and wait for her. The strange part is he waits for her sitting on the bottom of the pool with no seeming need to breathe! As she swims by Jake grabs Lana and pulling her underwater tries to kiss her. But Lana gets loose and when Jake chases her he's suddenly shot by an unseen sniper and a meteor rock with the word "Freak" carved into it is left by his body! The next day Clark, Pete, and Chloe are all talking about the odd event and Chloe reveals she thinks that Jake was affected by meteor rocks and that's how he stayed underwater so long. Clark agrees to return to work with Chloe at the Torch, the school paper, and he will look into the sniper and Chloe will follow Jake's story.
Lex returns to Luthorcorp to work for his father and is nervous when Lionel Luthor wants to insure him for $50 million dollars as a corporate asset. Clark talks to Lana about Jake and finds out he was with a student named Van McNulty when he first approached her at school. Chloe finds out the autopsy of Jake has turned up the fact he had gills, and was indeed affected by the meteor rocks. Chloe visits Lionel Luthor and tries to quit investigating Clark for him, but he has just promoted her father at Luthorcorp and threatens to fire him if she leaves his service.
Clark talks to Van McNulty about Jake and notices he listens to a police scanner constantly. Chloe finds out that there have been previous killings involving meteor-affected people and that meteor rocks with "Freak" carved into them were found at the crime scenes. Clark discovers that Tina Greer, his now dead shape-shifting foe, had killed Van's father and then used his shape in her crimes. They reason that Van is killing meteor-affected people in revenge for the loss of his father. Clark and Pete visit a hunting cabin deep in the woods that Van and his father frequented. They find not only an arsenal, but also printouts of meteor suspects that Van has stolen from Chloe's private computer files. And one of the people on the list is Lex Luthor, so Clark races to Metropolis to head off a murder attempt on Lex!
Just as Lex is leaving work, Van fires a bullet at him but Clark arrives in time to catch the bullet barehanded. Van sees Clark do this and when Clark catches up to him, meteor rocks spill from Van's backpack and incapacitate Clark. Van sees the affect the rocks have on Clark and also figures that Clark will become his next meteor freak victim. But Lex's security arrives and chases Van away. Chloe tells Clark that her file on Lex shows he has highly elevated white blood cells and he might be a person the meteors have changed. Clark tells Chloe that Van was using her files and she gets upset knowing she almost helped him to kill these people.
Lex starts to think he may indeed have been changed by the meteors as he's never been sick since the day of the meteor shower. Clark tries to convince Sheriff Adams where Van's getting his hit list from but she's skeptical. Meanwhile Van's been very busy hiding out in the woods. He's decided to make Kryptonite bullets to kill Clark with since he saw how the meteor rocks affected Clark in Metropolis. He goes to the Kent farm the next day and shoots at Clark who doesn't know the bullet is Kryptonite and tries to simply catch it. But the bullet goes through his hand and lodges in his shoulder!
Pa Kent manages to get the bullet out of Clark before the radiation kills Clark or before he bleeds to death from the wound. Though weakened from the wound, Clark is now determined to stop Van once and for all. Van has cornered Lana and told her he's killed Clark, and she calls the Sheriff who finds Clark is fine at home. Clark knows Van is listening to his police scanner and slipping away at super-speed, he uses the Sheriff's radio to challlenge Van to a final showdown. Van brings a tied-up Lana to the high school and Clark waits for him at the end of the hall.
Van fires an entire clip of bullets at Clark who's not bothered at all by them! Lana kicks Van into a trophy case knocking him out and runs to see Clark is unhurt. He shows her he took a bulletproof vest from the Sheriff's car, and that's what saved him from Van's bullets. Van is taken away to an asylum and Clark visits Lex who is now convinced that the meteors did alter him in some way as he keeps escaping deadly situations. Lionel Luthor goes to Chloe and explains that all the school computers were donated by Luthorcorp and he owns them and has access to all the information on them. He warns her to never investigate Lex or anyone in his family again or he will make her regret it.

Jonathan Kent: John Schneider
Martha Kent: Annette O'Toole

Lex Luthor: Michael Rosenbaum
Lionel Luthor: John Glover

Our Story:
The weather's hot so Clark decides to go swimming up at Crater Lake when he's unexpectedly joined by Lana. Even more surprising is the fact that Lana jumps in with no clothes on and Clark eagerly joins her. Suddenly from shore they see a girl running and screaming for help. Clark dresses and speeds to her side asking what's wrong. The girl frightenly replies, "He's here!", and before Clark can move, she is grabbed by a hand beneath the ground and dragged under the surface before Clark's eyes!
Clark tells Ma and Pa about the incident citing the fact not even his x-ray vision found any sign of the girl. Pa tells Clark he'll report it to the Sheriff and then takes Clark outside to surprise him with a brand new 4-wheel drive pickup truck. At school that day, Clark is shocked to again see the strange girl who tells Clark her name is Sara Conroy and that someone is always after her. Clark sees a huge figure cloaked all in red that along with the girl suddenly disappears again.
Clark sees Chloe who tells Clark she's taken down her "Wall of Weird" and will only concentrate on hard news with proven facts from now on. Lex asks Clark to drop by and when he does Lex shows Clark an ancient sword from Japan that he suddenly attacks Clark with! When the sword shatters on Clark, Lex accuses him of lying to him from the day they met and swears he'll expose Clark and his powers to the world! Clark returns home and Sara is waiting for him and tells him that the "Traveller" is hunting her and she needs his help. The huge red-cloaked figure appears and grabs Sara again dragging her underground!
Clark then awakens to find himself up in the barn loft where Ma and Pa tell him he fell asleep 36 hours ago and they haven't been able to stir him. Everything that he thought happened for the last two days has all been a dream! They tell Clark that a family by the name of Conroy has moved in next door into Lana's old house, but that doesn't explain how Clark knows a girl he's never met! Now Clark is afraid to sleep for fear that he'll have more nightmares. Lana comes by and Clark tells her he's just been sick. He then tells her about the dream he had and he feels he has to help Sara somehow. The two decide to go visit the Conroys.
They discover that Sara's Uncle is her caretaker as it seems she's been in a coma for six years since her family was killed in a car accident. The car fell into Crater Lake after a collision and only Sara was saved. In Metropolis, Lex is battling with his Father who wants him to take a series of psychological tests before he'll give him complete access to all of Luthorcorp. Lionel Luthor won't give in and neither will Lex. Chloe tells Clark that telepathic abilities of Sara's may be causing her to contact Clark whenever he dreams.
Clark thinks that Sara's Uncle may be the Traveller she fears in her dreams as he saw a cabinet full of drugs in her room using his x-ray vision. Clark and Lana look into Sara's family and find out that Sara's family left her wealthy after their deaths but her Uncle controls all the money as long as she stays comatose. Clark falls asleep again and Sara visits Clark asking him for help once more. She tells Clark he's the only one who she can contact and that she's being kept asleep on purpose. Then the Traveller appears and Clark tries to stop him but he can't and again Sara is dragged away!
Clark talks to Lex about Sara and he tells him that his contacts at Metropolis General can't prove Sara's Uncle is drugging her, but there's no reason she's not waking up on her own. Clark visits Sara and when her Uncle leaves the room he steals a bottle from the cabinet in her room which has the drug Clark thinks her Uncle is using on her to keep her sleeping. But Clark again falls asleep this time while he's driving home and he crashes in the pickup truck he's driving. Ma, Pa and Lana all find Clark in the crashed truck and can't wake him up. In his dream Clark tries to tell Sara to fight the Traveller or she'll never escape him.
Back at Sara's house Lana decides to see her just as her Uncle is about to give her another dose to keep her sleeping. When Lana accuses Sara's Uncle of his duplicity he instead grabs Lana and injects her with the drug causing her to pass out. In her dream, the Traveller apppears and despite Clark's powers he cannot stop him. But Sara bravely faces her fear of her Uncle and when she does the Travellers powers fade and Clark uses his heat-vision to incinerate him and end his menace. Then he wakes up and realizes that Lana's in trouble as Sara told him so before the dream ended. Sara's Uncle has put Lana in her truck and is about to incinerate her with a can of gas making it look like an accident when Clark speeds in and knocks him out before he can kill her.
Lex decides to take the tests to prove to his Father he can be trusted and Lionel Luthor is pleased. Clark visits a now awake Sara who tells Clark she saw the special things he can do and Clark tells her it's just the way he dreams about himself as being more powerful then he is in real life. Sara tells Clark she can tell that Clark is in love with Lana and he shouldn't waste that love by pushing her away, and she could see that Lana is indeed the girl of Clark's dreams.

Our Story:
A huge comet hits the sun causing the biggest solar flare ever recorded. Clark watches the news on this event and doesn't think twice about it. Then he decides to run and meet Pete for some studying. As he does a man who's been drinking and driving looks up to see Clark right in front of him on the road. Veering to avoid hitting Clark, he careens into a pole carrying power lines. As the sparks fly everywhere, he sees Clark standing amongst the dangerous current and then he gapes as Clark pulls his door off and speeds him away from the danger. Then the drunken man introduces himself to Clark as none other then Perry White!
The next day Perry shows up at the Kent farm asking if he can borrow Clark to show him around town. He works for a cable show called Xstyles that deals with lurid and weird phenomena and he's in Smallville to investigate the meteor shower and the strange events that seem to occur around the town since it happened. A Dr. Claire Foster had been seeing Lex to get him certified psychologically for clearance in Luthorcorp and now their sessions are ending with Lex refusing to reveal any personal issues. He's filled the time just to satisfy his Fathers wish that he see the Doctor and attend the sessions.
Perry and Clark go to see Lana where Perry tries to interview Lana since her parents died in the meteor shower and she gets very upset and insists they both leave. Then they go to the Torch offices to see Chloes "Wall of the Weird" and Chloe recognizes Perry as having once been a noted reporter in Metropolis who has since been reduced to his current state of second-hand stories and drinking too much. Lana goes to see Lex to ask if he can dissuade Perry from bothering her and at the mention of Perry's name, Lex reacts angrily and assures Lana he'll take care of him.
Lex finds Clark trying to pull Perry put of a local bar and when Perry sees Lex he meekly leaves with him. Lex takes him to a local bus stop telling him to get out of town and it turns out Perry had gone after Lionel Luthor years ago and Luthor ruined his career. Clark is helping Pa Kent to lift a tractor to fix it when his strength stops working. When he tries to lift the tractor the next time, he overdoes it and throws the tractor miles away! It crash lands right in front of Perry waiting for the bus and when Clark runs at super-speed to find it, he sees Perry gaping at the tractors remains and Clark's sudden appearance.
The sheriff doesn't believe Perry when he tells her that the tractor fell from the sky and the Kents insist it was stolen and must have fallen off the thieves flatbed and been destroyed. Perry decides to look into Clark and sees Chloe and tells her that the Luthors ruined his career when he was about to write a story exposing Lionel Luthors shady dealings. Back at the farm, the Kents have figured out that Clark's powers derive from the sun and that he's like a living solar battery. So the recent solar flares are causing Clarks problems with his powers and if he waits 24 hours until the flares subside then he can again use his abilities. Chloe stops by and warns Clark that Perry is snooping around asking about him.
Lex finds out that Dr. Foster has not approved him for clearance in Luthorcorp and she tells Lex he must seek help in a more serious manner to deal with his personal demons. Lex reacts angrily and throws her out of the mansion. Perry confronts Clark about his special abilities and when Ma Kent calls Clark he trots away, but his powers go into overdrive and in front of Perry he super-speeds out of sight leaving an inebriated Perry doubting his senses. Perry goes to Lex offering the secrets he has on his father if he'll give him all his information on Clark. Lex again gets angry and threatens to make Perry disappear for good if he doesn't give up investigating Clark.
Clarks heat vision goes awry and almost burns up the Kent house and he decides until the solar flares subside, he must leave the farm. Pa Kent leads Perry away from the farm while Pete helps Clark get out to the woods to camp out until the crisis pasts. Perry goes to Lana and offers to leave Smallville if he'll give her a ride to the bus stop and she agrees. While on the way he pretends to grow ill while they're near Saunders Gorge and he jumps up on the railing over the gorge threatening to jump unless Lana calls Clark to come and save him. But Clark's powers are now gone and Pete Ross must drive Clark to the site where he tries to convince Perry he has no special powers and cannot save him.
Perry jumps anyway and fearlessly Clark junps after him. But Perry has tied a rope to his ankle that stops both their falls, but the rope is frayed and threatens to drop them both to certain death! Pete runs and gets a rope from his trunk and just as one rope breaks the pair grabs the second one and painfully pull themselves to safety. When they get to the top Perry sees Clark's rope-burned palms and is finally convinced that Clark has no special powers as they both just nearly died. Lex finally agrees to work with the Doctor to resolve his issues if she can provide confidentiality which she promises Lex he'll get.
Clark drives Perry to the bus stop and Perry tells him he's given up drinking and he's decided to return to Metropolis and try and write his Luthor story after all. He also has a friend on the Daily Planet who may hire him and he tells Clark if he ever gets to the city to look him up, as he owes him a favor. And as we all know, that's a favor Clark will definitely cash in one day in his future!

Our Story:
An elderly convict named Dexter McCallum has contacted Lana and she visits him in the prison hospital ward to discover she once had a great Aunt named Louise that Dexter was married to and was convicted of murdering back in 1961. Dexter saw Lana's picture in a newpaper and she resembles her Aunt so much he felt he had to tell her that he's innocent of murdering his wife. He tells Lana that a nameless drifter was the real killer who fled the scene as Dexter arrived in his barn to find his wife had been shot. And an old newpaper has an artist's depiction of the drifter who is a dead ringer for Clark Kent!
Lana shows Clark the drawing and he's naturally skeptical though Lana insists it could be his father as Clark is adopted. Then Clark notices the necklace the man is wearing in the drawing bears a kryptonian symbol he's seen before in the Indian caves. Clark thinks the drifter was his father Jorel, so Pa and Clark go to the caves and find the symbol on the wall. When Clark touches it, a compartment opens in which Clark finds the medallion the man was wearing. And when Clark touches the medallion, he's bombarded with images from 1961!
Clark and Pete are on Main Street talking about the incident when Clark leans on a mailbox and suddenly he's seeing the street as it was in 1961 and there is Jorel walking down it. Suddenly across the street, Jorel sees Lana's Aunt Louise being robbed by a man with a gun. He super-speeds over and tosses the man aside easily with his great strength. Then Sheriff Tate drives up and arrests the man while Jorel introduces himself as Joe to Aunt Louise who's very taken with her handsome saviour. Clark and Chloe investigate the crime through old police records and find out that the perpetrator was none other then Lex Luthor's grandfather, Lauchlan Luthor!
Clark goes to meet Lana who's found some of Aunt Louise's old belongings in a trunk while Chloe goes to question Lex Luthor about his grandfather. Lex tells Chloe she's got her facts all wrong as his father was the first Luthor in Smallville and at that she leaves. Meanwhile Lana and Clark find a love letter written by Joe to Aunt Louise and when Clark touches it he again sees the past where Louise and Joe are having a romantic rendevous in a barn with each proclaiming their love for each other despite Louise being married to Dexter. Lex confronts his father about Lauchlan Luthor and Lionel tells him he covered up his father's checkered past to make a better life for himself, and that Lex's grandparents later died in a tenement fire.
Clark and Lana go to the barn where Joe and Louise met and when Clark touches an old car there, he sees Aunt Louise and Joe in another romantic embrace. Joe tells Louise he'll be leaving for home that night and Louise begs to go with him. Joe explains that's impossible, as they'd never be accepted where he's from even as Louise tells him she doesn't love her husband. Then Lauchlan Luthor runs into the barn and empties a revolver into Joe's chest! The bullets all bounce off of Joe but tragically one ricochets into Louise killing her and she dies in Joe's arms. Dexter hears the shots from the house and sees Joe flee the barn and runs to find Louise and the murder weapon even as Sheriff Tate arrives and arrests Dexter for the crime.
Lex contacts a retired Detective who investigated the tenement fire his grandparents died in and even though he found evidence of arson, he was told to surpress the truth by his superiors. Clark and Lana go to see the one-time Sheriff Tate who is now the Mayor of Smallville and he tells them there was no drifter and that Dexter did indeed kill Louise. They question why Lauchlan Luthor was out of jail after being arrested for armed robbery and he tells them he can't remember the man at all. When Mayor Tate touches Clark, he has another flashback in which he sees that Jorel revealed to Louise that he was an alien whose father had sent him to Earth as a lesson in humility and that was why he couldn't take her back with him. Their rendevous that night was interrupted by none other then Sheriff Tate.
Clark returns home and when he touches his Grandfather Kent's old shotgun, he again sees the past and finds out that Hiram Kent, Jonathan Kent's father, found Jorel that night fleeing from the crime scene and believing his story of innocence helped him get away from Smallville. Using Jorel's old clothes he changed out of that night and that he found among Grandpa Kent's belongings; Clark confronts Mayor Tate in his home pretending to be Jorel. The Mayor blurts out that he made a deal and had released Lauchlan Luthor to kill Joe because he was too was in love with Louise and wanted to get rid of Joe. Then he ran in and pinned the crime on Dexter when the opportunity presented itself. Clark races from the room unseen and the current day Sheriff comes in the room to hear all this and arrests the mayor for the decades old murder.
Dexter McCallum is released from prison for the crime he never committed. Lex confronts his father with the evidence that his grandparents died from arson and Lionel Luthor admits he knew but he was just a poor student who had no way to pursue the truth and moved on with his life. Lex then vows to his father that he will find his grandparents' killer, no matter who it turns out to be. And Clark tells Pa Kent that he thinks that Jorel sent him to them purposely, choosing the Kents specifically to find him the day he crash-landed on Earth in the meteor shower!

Our Story:
Lana and Chloe are the local fair on its last day of business. They meet Lana's lab partner Seth Nelson running a local knockdown game booth and he lets Lana win despite the fact she missed the targets. A local tough resents that and demands a prize too. When Seth refuses and shoves the man, he gets chased by him until the tough catches him and breaks the prize over his head! The prize is a snow-globe made using meteor rocks for the crystals that float in it and they enter Seth's bloodstream through the cut he got on his forehead. When he's checked with an MRI machine at the hospital, the machine goes haywire and magnetic force is sucked into Seth like a sponge!
Lex Luthor has an ex-cop checking into how his grandparents dies in a fire, but the man finds out that Chloe has been looking into his father too which gets Lex's attention. When Lana and Clark check on Seth at the hospital, he asks Lana for a date. At first she hesitates but when Seth touches her hand, green magnetic energy flows from Seth to Lana and she suddenly has a change of heart and agrees to the date! Clark is a little jealous over the date, but since he's decided not to date Lana anymore he has to grin and bear it. After they leave, Seth practices moving metal objects in his room with his new-found powers. Lex goes to Chloe and warns her that looking into his father's past could prove to be dangerous.
Seth come to the Talon to pick Lana up for their date and when Lana hesitates again about Seth, he once more zaps her with magnetics and she leaves with him gladly. They go the closed fair where Seth tells Lana all about his powers and uses them to run the ferris wheel which hasn't yet been dismantled. He keeps zapping Lana to get her more amenable and it's working. Clark follows them suspicious of Seth and when the ride gets stuck he uses his great strength to pull their car to the ground. Lana gets angry with Clark for following them and both Seth and Lana tell Clark to leave them alone.
Clark confronts Seth the next day at school and tells him he knows that he has magnetic powers and that he's using them to manipulate Lana. Seth warns Clark not to mess with him and Clark in return warns Seth to stay away from Lana. Chloe and Clark look at Seth's medical records and it seems that he has extraordinary levels of electromagnetic energy in his body die to the MRI accident. Lana confronts Clark about interfering with her and Seth and despite Clark's warnings that Seth's using his powers on her, she tells Clark to stay out of it. That night, the detective working for Lex steals one of Chloe's computers from her office at the Torch to access the information about Lionel Luhtor that's on it.
The next day Seth uses more power on Lana and convinces her to not only leave town with him in a stolen car, but to empty the register at the Talon to bankroll their trip. As she's doing so, Lex comes in and tries to convince her to stop and she refuses. When she and Seth leave, Clark arrives and Lex tells him what happened and calls the Sheriff to stop the pair before they can get away. Clark races to the edge of town and uses his heat-vision to melt the road causing the stolen car to bog down in the melted tar. When the Sheriff closes in Seth jumps onto the side of a passing tanker truck leaving Lana to face the Sheriff who throws her in jail.
Lex takes Chloe to the local morgue and shows her that the detective who took her computer is now dead and tells her she'll end up the same way if she doesn't work with him to bring down his father. Meanwhile, Seth goes to the jail and uses his powers to get Lana out and also take on of the guard's guns. Clark hears about this and using a compass which keeps pointing towards Seth due to his magnetism, he traces Seth and Lana to the fair where the pair are hiding out in one of the closed rides. Clark confronts Seth who uses first shoots Clark but the bullets are useless against the teen of steel. The Seth uses his pawers to try and crush Clark with one of the ride's cars. Clark grabs a power line and magnetizes the car in return and the car and Seth are slammed together putting Seth into a coma.
Chloe meets with Lex and tells him that she's been investigating the weird phenomena in Smallville, and she also admits that Lionel Luthor wanted her to spy on Clark too. She wanted information to stop Lionel from harming her or her family and Lex tells Chloe that he'll protect her and she tells Lex that Morgan Edge, the Metropolis crime boss, was his father's childhood friend. Lana apologizes to Clark for her actions while under Seth's influence and she also reminds him that she has the right to date who she pleases and Clark must learn to respect that if they are to remain friends.

Lex Luthor finds his fathers partner-in-crime Morgan Edge after Edge has had plastic surgery to change his appearance and escape Lionel Luthor's wrath after the two had a falling out. He convinces Edge to make a tape confessing his and Lionel Luthors direct involvement in the death of Lionels parents, Lex's grandparents. But after getting the tape, an assassin gets into the mansion and kills Lex's bodyguard and Lex barely escapes with his life. He flees to the Kent farm where he hides up in Clark's barn loft telling Clark all that's happened. Clark agrees to go to the mansion and get the proof Lex has on his father that's locked in the mansion safe.
But when he gets there Clark finds no dead bodyguard and nothing in the safe, but does spot a bit of broken glass from what Lex says is a window he leapt through to escape. He tells Lex who says that Chloe can back up his story and Clark questions her. She tells Clark that she found out that the elder Luthor and Edge grew up together but she didn't know about the plot to kill Lionel Luthors parents for insurance money to fund a new life for himself. Clark takes Chloe with him to protect her and when he arrives home Lionel Luthor is there looking for Lex. Lionel tells Clark that Lex has had a breakdown and must be caught for his own good. Then Clark finds Lex in the barn loft singing to a blanket that he claims is his dead brother Julian!
When Clark tells Ma and Pa Kent about Lex they are skeptical of his sanity. Lex overhears them and gets paranoid they're against him and runs off but Clark insists he go with Lex. They go to where Lex saw Edge but the building's now a factory making Lex look like he indeed may be mentally ill. Then Clark and Lex go to the mansion and his dead bodyguard is there quite alive! Then Lex's security calls his psychiatrist who comes to try and sedate Lex, but he's convinced she's against him too. Lex grabs his security guard's gun and insists they're all in on a plot of his fathers to have him committed. Clark takes Lex to the local stables to hide him out and calls Lana telling her he thinks Lex is being drugged and he needs her help to watch Lex while he proves it.
While Clark's away Lex has a paranoid fit claiming Lana's there to hurt him. He pushes Lana into a horse stall and she's badly hurt by the horse's pounding hooves! He then steals a mans truck that has a shotgun in the back. Clark and Lionel Luthor argue over wether Lex is really sick and Clark's suspicious of Lionel's motives. Clark and Chloe figure that Lex's been secretly drugged for weeks and Clark convinces his bodyguard to confess that indeed Lex has been secretely drugged for weeks. Lex manages to get into the mansion with the gun he now has and he confronts his father about his grandparent's death. Lionel claims it was all Edge's plan and he wasn't involved and he then tells Lex where to find Edge. Meanwhile, Clark has found the assassin who tried to kill Lex and he gets Edge's location out of him.
But Lex is already there with a gun on Edge who tells Lex the whole plan about drugging him was all his father's idea. Clark races in and takes the gun from Lex but Edge has kryptonite with him as he knows about Clark's weakness to it. He beats Clark badly until Lex picks up the fallen gun and shoots Edge and then he aims the gun at Clark claiming he's guilty too! And only a fleeing and wounded Edge distracts him to run outside and gun down Edge as he tries to run down Lex with his car. Then Clark races in front of the car and right in front of Lex the car splits near in two from striking Clark who then pushes it twenty feet away with a shove of his hand. Lex's eyes go wide and he tells Clark he knew he wasn't even human and now this proves it.
But then Lionel Luthor's security and Lex's psychiatrist arrive and drag Lex away to an institution where he's sedated and kept locked up. No one believes his ravings about what he saw Clark do before they arrived and figure it's all part of his delusions as Clark raced away from the scene when they came for Lex. And Lana has finally come to in the hospital and she tells Clark she now knows he's right about telling her how dangerous he is to be around. She tells him that from now on she intends to stay away from Clark for good, which hurts Clark badly. And now Lex is trapped in the asylum with no way to escape his father's machinations.

Our Story:
A heavily medicated Lex has been committed to Belle Reve sanitarium by his father as a result of a psychotic break Lionel Luthor claims he's had. Clark goes to visit Lex and in the sanitarium he keeps running into former foes that've also been committed there. Lex tells Clark he now knows his secret and how he saw Clark stop a speeding vehicle with his body. Then he begs Clark to use his powers to break him out of the place. Clark notices that cameras are following his every move during the visit. After Clark leaves, Lex attempts a breakout himself but is caught by guards and it seems he will never escape now!
Lex injured Lana during his illness and she is going through therapy to heal her broken leg and she doesn't want to see Clark as she feels he is dangerous to be around. While in therapy, she meets a young man named Adam who befriends her and helps her in her recovery. Back at Belle Reve, Eric, Ian, and Van all conspire together on a plan to leech Clark's powers using Eric and then to get their revenge on Clark for besting them. And Lionel Luthor coerces Doctor Claire Foster to use shock treatment on Lex to destroy his memory and his knowledge that Lionel had his parents killed. While looking into Lex's case Clark finds out that Lex will be shock treated in 24 hours.
Van bribes a guard to smuggle him a Kryptonite rock into Belle Reve as part of his plan to destroy Clark. But as soon as he does, Ian uses his ability to grow a duplicate of himself and the two Ians then kill Van and take the rock from him! Chloe and Clark confront Dr. Foster with evidence that she is drugging Lex to keep him from recovering and they also tell her that Lionel Luthor will ultimately betray her but at first she refuses to listen. Then when she changes her mind and cancels Lex's shock therapy, she suddenly dies in a car accident!
Clark breaks into Belle Reve that night and once in Lex's cell he openly uses his powers to try and free him. But then Ian attacks him with the Kryptonite rock and knocks him out. Then Ian and his double take Clark to the generator room of the sanitarium where they plan to use the high voltage to let Eric leech Clark's powers from him. As they do this, Lex is taken to the shock therapy room and strapped down for his treatment. Meanwhile, Adam and Lana are growing closer as they work together to help Lana recover from her injuries.
Just as Lex's treatments start, Eric and Ian steal Clark's powers from him killing the electricity in the treatment room. But Eric turns on Ian and smashes him aside while he pummels Clark around the room in revenge. But with Clark's powers Eric has also inherited Clark's vulnerability to Kryptonite. Clark uses the meteor rock to weaken Eric and shoving him into a high voltage panel he gets his powers back leaving Eric helpless. But the electricity is then restored and poor Lex is mercilessly shocked again and again on his father's orders. Clark races to the shock room but arrives to late and realizes he's failed in his attempt to save Lex from the brutal treatment.
Lana goes to visit Adam in the hospital and finds out that he was injured trying to save his parents from a fire. Lex returns home from the sanitarium and Clark visits him to find out that the shock treatment has erased any memory he had of Clark's powers. Pa Kent tells Clark that as powerful as he is there are still people like Lionel Luthor who remain more powerful then he and stay above the law, but someday justice will catch up with Lionel Luthor for having his parents killed. Lionel Luthor studies the tapes from the sanitarium but the audio only reveals Lex saying, "I know your secret Clark." Clark decides to attend Lana's homecoming party but once there he cannot bring himself to talk to Lana. Once again Clark's powers have estranged him from Lana, and the gulf between them seems bigger then ever before.

Our Story:
Clark is in a local jewelry store looking for a present for Ma Kents birthday and the jeweler has just shown Clark a pendant made from Kryptonite which Clark shies away from. Just then a young man in the store starts making a high pitched scream from his throat that smashes all the cases and then an older man comes in with a gun to complete the robbery attempt. But when Clark uses his heat vision to heat the robber's gun to the point where he drops it, the kryptonite pendant actually reflects Clark's heat vision back into his eyes leaving him blind!
Pete takes Clark to school the next day to pick up some schoolbooks when suddenly Clark's hearing amplifies the sounds around him to the point of causing him great pain. But before Pete can take Clark back home, Clark overhears a cell phone conversation between Lionel Luthor and Chloe in which he learns that Lex's job back at Lexcorp will be a sham only to placate him. And he also hears Chloe admit that she has been spying on Clark for the elder Luthor in return for getting her column in the Daily Planet newspaper!
Lex come to visit and Clark tells him that the job his father is giving him is a do-nothing position and that Lex's father thinks he's still suffering from his mental breakdown. Lana visits Lex to thank him for paying her medical bills as Lex was the one who caused her previous injuries she's sinced healed from. Lana tells Lex that she and Clark have mutually decided to stay away from each other. Chloe visits Clark and they argue about what Clark has learned about her investigating him for Lionel Luthor and Chloe leaves in tears. Then while Pete drops by to see Clark, the young man from the robbery pulls up and using his high-powered scream disables the two and kidnaps Pete!
Judge Abagail Ross, Pete's mom, stops by the farm and tells the Kents that she has the robbery suspect on her docket in the morning, and she's been told that if she doesn't dismiss the charges against the man Pete will be killed in retaliation. This spurs Clark and Ma and Pa into action where they turn on several pieces of equipment in the barn and Pa whispers to Clark while all the machinery is running. Clark concentrates intensely and successfully isolates all the loud sounds until all he hears is Pa's whispering voice. He has now learned to control his new power of super-hearing!
Lex confronts his father telling him he's learned that his father's job offer is a sham and Lionel Luthor thinks that Chloe has gone to Lex and told him about their earlier phone conversation. While in town with Pa, Clark hears the same truck noise he heard when Pete was kidnapped and while the tow truck slowly drives by Clark jumps on the back and rides with it until it slows down outside a junkyard. He uses his new power and hears Pete inside a nearby garage yelling for help and breaks in. But Nathan, the young man with the super-screaming ability, stops Clark before he can free Pete by aiming a blowtorch into Clark's already damaged eyes. Pete and his kidnapper leave, but then Clark realizes the torch had burned off the scar tissue in his eyes and his sight has returned, although it's blurred.
Clark insists on searching for Pete to save him but first Ma and Pa take him to get glasses to wear to clear up his blurred vision. At the courthouse Clark's hearing listens into a cell phone call between the robber and Nathan in which the robber tells Nathan he's about to be freed and he should kill Pete. Nathan puts Pete inside a junk car and then puts the car in a compactor to kill him. But Clark races up and then Nathan uses his screaming power to try and kill Clark. But the pile of junk cars Clark falls against is toppled by the loud scream and falls on Nathan killing him while Clark races out of harms way just in time. Then he uses his great strength to stop the compactor saving Pete from a grisly death.
Lionel Luthor accuses Chloe of betraying his confidence by telling Lex about their conversation and also tells her her column at the Daily Planet has been cancelled. She accept this but warns Lionel Luthor she'll reveal his interest and investigations into Clark if he goes any further, and Lionel tells her she's making a powerful enemy in him. The next day, Pete regales a group of young ladies at the Talon about how he freed himself from his captor and he becomes quite the local hero to them. Clark allows him his little deception as it wouldn't do for anyone to learn the real truth behind his salvation. Clark learns that Lex fired Chloe's father from Luthorcorp as his father ordered it for thinking Chloe informed on him.
Clark sees Lex but he tells Clark he will have to be patient and wait as he and his father have just begun to battle and there will be casualties in their private war. Lana tells Clark that she's interested in the young man named Adam that she met in therapy and that she wants to pursue the relationship with him. Clark thanks her for her honesty and Lana then leaves. But as she drives away, Clark's hearing picks up the sound of her crying as she drives away from the farm matching the sadness he also feels.

She talks to a reporter there named Max Taylor before she leaves and asks him to publish an article that exposes misdeeds at the Summerholt Neurological Institute but Max tells her he'll be fired if he does so. So she asks that he consider publishing the article using her cousins name, Lois Lane, as Lois has no interest in journalism.
Lex is back at Luthorcorp and goes to the technical department looking for help with his computer and meets a young lady named Molly who assists him. But after Lex leaves, Molly takes a hard drive out of a computer that Lionel Luthor had confiscated from Chloe with all of her e-mail addresses on it. When Chloe returns to the high school's newspaper office she finds out that Lionel Luthor has also taken back all the computers he had previously donated to the school. And when she leaves the school someone in a red pickup tries to run her down and narrowly misses her, crashing into a van. And when the driver gets out of the pickup, we see it's a very dazed and confused Clark Kent!
While at the hospital Clark tells the Sheriff that the last thing he remembers is reading some e-mail he got, then he woke up after the crash. While there Clark sees Lana and she introduces Clark to Adam, the friend she made while in physical therapy. Lex finds out that Molly doesn't work at Luthorcorp but that she wiped out all the hard drives of the computers his father had confiscated from Chloe. Chloe and Clark discover that someone whose e-mail name is brainwave sent Clark e-mail just before the crash. Then while Lana is showing Adam around the school, she gets e-mail from brainwave on her PDA. After she reads it, she suddenly goes after Chloe with a fireaxe! Adam fights her off of Chloe and Lana falls and is stunned, and when she recovers she has no memory of attacking Chloe.
Max Taylor publishes the article about Summerholt Institute and even questions a Dr. Garner about what's going on there. Dr. Garner then visits Molly who it turns out is a former patient of his and she promises to stop Max from bothering the institute. Lana questions Adam about his background and he is purposely evasive. Chloe tells Clark she met Molly while at Summerholt and she becomes their main suspect. Chloe calls Max who agrees there's something suspicious going on there. But Max's secretary gets e-mail from brainwave and she walks into his office and stabs him to death! Chloe and Clark tell Lex what they've learned and Lex hides Chloe at his mansion while Clark goes to question Garner about subliminal killing commands that Molly's sending people. But once there Garner denies everything and has Clark thrown out of the building.
Clark uses his super-hearing and listens in to a cell phone call that Garner makes and finds out where Molly lives. And when he arrives he finds that Lex is there and is also questioning Molly. And Lex has also already taken the cd with the killing program that Molly developed. Lex shows Clark that Molly has just sent e-mail to Clark's parents who have lured Chloe to the farm and are trying to kill her at that moment! Clark races to the farm and stops his parents from harming Chloe and they snap out of the trance the e-mail put them in. Adam tells Lana he cannot remember much of his past and he's leaving Smallville. But Lana convinces Adam to stay in town and rent the apartment over the Talon coffeeshop she runs for Lex.
Lex donates new computers to the Torch high school paper to replace the ones his father took from them. Chloe apologizes for investigating Clark for Lionel Luthor and the two reconcile their estrangement. Lex confronts Dr. Garner with the damning evidence against him and agrees to supress it if Garner helps him get back the seven weeks he can't remember due to his recent shock treatments his father had used on him. And one of the things he cannot remember as yet is that he saw Clark use his amazing powers right in front of him!

Our Story:
A new student named Jordan is being mentored by Clark as he's been home schooled his whole life until now. After a track run, Jordan brushes hands with Lana and has a vision of her as a old woman on her death bed far in the future. Then he shakes the coach's hand and sees him at the moment of his death running in front of a car to commit suicide. As school lets out Jordan's father meets him and Jordan tells him his visions have occurred again. Suddenly Clark and Jordan see the coach run out and stand in the road as a speeding car heads towards him as in Jordan's vision. But a super-speed burst from Clark pushes the coach out of harms way as the Coach screams he wished Clark hadn't saved him as he feels he was responsible for his daughters death and he wanted to die!
At the hospital Lana explains to Clark that Coach Altman had just had his severly injured daughter taken off of life support and he can't forgive himself for her death. Lana and her friend Megan talk about how they were with Julie, the coach's deceased daughter, at a party and that Megan had argued with Julie which is why she left the party that night and was injured in a car accident. Unknown to the two girls, after they leave the Coach's eyes open and he has heard every word they said. The next day at school when Clark touches Jordan, instead of a death vison from Clark, all Jordan sees is a red cape with a yellow insignia on it flying faster then light until it vanishes into a strange vortex!
Clark notices every time someone brushes against Jordan he seems to recoil painfully and he tells Jordan he saw that same look yesterday when the coach tried suicide. At the Talon coffeehouse that night as Lana's closing up, she hears the young man named Adam that she rented the apartment upstairs to having a bad nightmare. She awakens Adam, but he refuses to discuss the dream. At the school paper's office, Chloe and Clark discuss Jordan and his seeming premonitions and decide to investigate them. Lana goes to see Lex and Lex tells her to be careful of Adam as she really knows nothing about him and his violent dreams could mean he's troubled.
At school, Chloe sees Adam leave a room after throwing a syringe into the garbage he's just used to inject something into himself with. Clark and Chloe find out that Jordan was born the day of the meteor shower just as a meteor killed his mother. Later when he was six he was in the newspaper for refusing to board a roller coaster moments before a fatal accident occurred. Then Chloe and Clark hear a commotion in the hall and see that Jordan has brushed against Megan and seen a vision of her suffocating in smoke and fire and Clark resolves to help Jordan save Megan. They walk to Megan's house and find the Sheriff there and she tells them that Megan's car was found abandoned and Megan is missing!
Chloe goes to Lana and tells her that she saw Adam throwing away the needle he used. Lex has Adam over to his mansion and he tells Adam he's having him investigated to protect Lana from any harm as she's his friend. Jordan's father tells Clark he's having Jordan taken back out of public schooling and it makes Jordan run away. Lana confronts Adam about the possibility that he's using drugs but Adam walks away from her. Jordan is at the school and brushes against Adam as he's leaving and then against Lana. He sees Lana in the same fire and smoke danger as Megan's vision and then he's knocked out by a masked man who abducts Lana!
Chloe sneaks into Adam's room and Lex catches her after she's found an ampule filled with a strange liquid she hides from Lex. Jordan finds Clark and tells him his vision of Lana and Megan in danger and that he also saw where they are and the two rush off to save the girls. It turns out it's Coach Altman who's abducted the girls and he's going to burn them to death as he now blames them for his daughter's death. He ties them up and starts the fire and then kneels down to die with the two innocent young women! Clark and Jordan arrive and pull the girls to safety and then Jordan tries to save Coach Altman. But then Clark pulls Jordan from the fire just as the house explodes killing the poor demented Coach. And when Clark touches Jordan, Jordan realizes he no longer gets visions when he's touched!
Jordan and Lana talk and he tells her that when Adam brushed against him he saw that Adam wasn't just hurt a few months ago, but that he actually died! Clark talks to Ma Kent about the fact that his powers may be altering people's destinies and she reassures him telling him that he's got to concentrate on all the lives he's saved and that he can't save everyone even as special as he is. When Clark goes out to the barn to see Pa Kent, he finds his father having a massive heart attack and his father tells Clark he loves him and then passes out as Clark screams for his mother's help!

Our Story:
Pa Kent is in the hospital recovering from his heart attack and Clark blames himself as he feels Pa's heart was weakened by the strain of Pa gaining super-powers for a short while to bring Clark home from Metropolis during his red kryptonite based binge last Summer. While going home, Ma and Clark are almost hit by two men street racing on a crossroad. When Clark races to confront the race drivers, he runs up to the winner and is shocked to see that the driver that almost him them is none other then his best friend Pete Ross!
Clark visits the garage where the street racers work on their cars and tells Pete that his driving in the races is both illegal and dangerous, but Pete tells Clark he loves the thrill of winning and his new friend Dante is helping him to do that with his fast cars which use a fuel injection system that has Kryptonite in it. Lana confronts Adam Knight, who now lives over the Talon coffee shop, about the fact he's really Chad Nash who died five months ago! Adam asks Lana to keep his secret and she reluctantly agrees. Chloe visits Lex and tells him that Adam is using a serum on himself that contains blood platelets that don't exist on this planet and that a Dr. Teng from Metropolis University has been visiting Adam.
Pete and Clark discuss the racing again and Clark warns Pete he'll stop him by force if he has to and Pete agrees to stop racing. Clark visits Pa and mentions that Pete's fallen in with a bad crowd and Pa counsels Clark to be patient for his friend's sake. But Pete decides to keep racing and that night Dante tells Pete he must purposely throw the race as he's bet heavily against him and Pete agrees. But when the race starts Pete can't bring himself to lose and beats the other driver making Dante angry. He's lost $20,000 on the race because of Pete and he tells Pete he must pay him back or he and his garage gang will kill Pete!
Lex visits Dr. Teng and questions her about her involvement with Adam and the blood platelets but she refuses to talk to Lex. Pete tells Clark about Dante's threats and Clark promises to help if he can. He visits the garage where the racers work while no one is there and with his x-ray vision spots a closet filled with stolen license plates. Clark and Chloe discover the numbers on the cars in the garage match up with stolen vehicles and that the garage is really an illegal chop shop. Clark tells the Sheriff what he's found out and they raid the garage but because a deputy is being bribed he tips off the gang and the Sheriff finds nothing illegal and is furious with Clark over what she thinks was false information.
Dante thinks Pete informed on him to the Sheriff so he has Pete beaten up for it, and then threatens to kill Pete's parents if he doesn't come up with the $20,000. Pete asks Clark to use his powers to steal the $20,000 to save him and his parents but Clark refuses to abuse his powers in such a manner. Pete tells Clark that if he doesn't get the money for him they're finished as friends. Clark goes to Lex and asks him for the money but when Lex hears it's for an extortion payoff he says no. When Lex leaves, Clark takes Lex's car keys and steals his Porsche to use as bait to catch Dante. He tells Pete to wager the car in one final race with Pete against Dante and he'll use his heat-vision to melt Dante's engine so Pete will win!
Before the race starts, Clark uses his super-hearing and discovers that Dante's men have put a bomb in Pete's car that will explode when he uses the Kryptonite based fuel and the car reaches 100 mile per hour. Clark confronts Dante about what he's learned, but a gang member picks up a cannister of Kryptonite fuel and knocks Clark out. Then he's put in the trunk of the car Pete's driving in the race so that the bomb will kill both Pete and Clark and keep Dante in business. The race begins and the meteor fuel keeps Clark too weak to stop the race and the car inches closer to 100 MPH with every second!
But when Pete uses the fuel injection it drains the kryptonite fuel tank and Clark regains his strength. Just before Pete reaches 100 MPH Clark punches through Pete's regular gas tank causing his car to spill it's fuel and stopping the car from running. And Dante's car goes out of control when it runs into the spilled fuel and flips wildly and crashes killing Dante! Dr. Teng goes to see Lex and says she's lost her funding as Lex had it withdrawn. Lex tells her she now works for him and she can have unlimited funding as long as she tells him her source for the blood platelets and what she's using it for.
Lana tells Adam she wants to know the truth about him and he threatens her with harm if she tells anyone about him. Lex visits Clark and tells him someone "borrowed" his Porsche but mysteriously returned it unharmed. He knows it was Clark but tells him that sometimes crossing moral boundaries to help a friend can be the true test of a friendship. Pete sees Clark and promises to never ask him to use his powers illegally again. Then he asks Clark to play a little basketball with him but Clark refuses, as he's upset over stealing from Lex and having to lie for Pete. His powers may have helped Pete, but now they've driven a wedge in their friendship that may never be removed.

Security is about to break into the car and will see Clark holding it when Alicia grabs him and they're both somehow suddenly transported to the lobby together. The two agree to not tell about each other's secret as the rest of the class rushes to the lobby after the near-fatal accident.
The next day at school Alicia tells Clark she gained her teleportation power the day of the meteor shower and Clark hints that he got his powers that way too. Lana searches Adam Knight's apartment he's renting over the Talon coffeeshop and finds a journal he's been keeping with notes about Lana and Clark in it. Adam catches her and she demands he move out at once but he refuses citing tenants rights so Lana goes to Clark and warns him about Adam's spying on them. Alicia and Clark go to the movies that night and Clark takes Alicia home afterwards. But early in the morning she teleports into bed with Clark and the two start to kiss when Pa Kent walks in and catches them in an embrace!
Clark tells Ma and Pa what Alicia knows and Pa mentions his weakness to meteor rocks but they don't know that Alicia teleported into the next room and overhears their conversation. At school Clark finds that Alicia has lined his locker with sexy pictures of her and is telling everyone they're boyfriend and girlfriend. Clark goes to see Alicia's parents and they tell him they have a lead-lined room they keep her in so she can't teleport, as she is imposssible to control and they fear her. After Clark leaves they discover she was listening to the conversation and she tells her Father he shouldn't have told Clark about her. Lana asks Lex's help in evicting Adam and he tells her he'll take care of it, tenant laws or not.
Clark finds pictures of Alicia all over his loft and she's also scratched Lana's picture out of his yearbook. He now knows she's obsessed with him and Alicia won't take no for an answer. Alicia's father is hospitalized with a blunt force injury to his head and Alicia confesses to Clark she did it to her Father to keep them together. Clark tries to take her to see the Sheriff but she teleports away from him before he can grab her. Clark tells Chloe about his problem and she helps Clark by telling Alicia that Clark's a suspect in her Father's attack and that he's hiding at a nearby factory so Alicia goes there.
Once there Clark lures Alicia into a room he's painted with lead based paint to trap her but she pulls out a meteor rock and weakens Clark and then goes to kill Lana who she's convinced is her competition for Clark's affections. Alicia corners Lana at the Talon with a knife and keeps teleporting in front of her so now matter where she runs she can't escape. Meanwhile Clark manages to kick over the open paint can so the lead based paint covers the meteor rock and he speeds off to save Lana. Alicia knocks Lana out and is about to kill her when Clark comes into the room and throws a can of the lead paint at her while blasting it open with his heat vision. The paint splashes all over her making it impossible for her to teleport away, and she falls to her knees and has a complete mental breakdown!
Lana comes to see Clark claiming that Alicia said that Clark confided secrets about himself to her that he never told to Lana but he denies it claiming her insanity was why she said that. After Lana leaves, Clark tells Ma Kent that he thinks his powers will always keep him from having a relationship with anyone. Adam has vanished and Lana thanks Lex who says he that he can't take credit, as his security people weren't able to find him. In a secret lab in Metropolis we see Lionel Luthor has Adam locked up and he tells him he's denying Adam the special formula to keep him alive that Dr. Teng developed because he hired him to spy on Clark and that he failed miserably. He then walks out and turns the lights out with Adam screaming for someone to help him!

Our Story:
Pa Kent is in the hospital and his Doctor is telling him he must have a triple bypass or risk a second, and probably fatal, heart attack. Pa is skeptical about his chances and initially refuses the surgery. While there, Clark encounters a classmate named Garrett whose older brother Vince is dying from liver disease. Suddenly things take a turn for the worse and Vince dies leaving Garrett alone as the two brothers are orphaned. Ma Kent offers to have Garrett stay with them for a few days until his Uncle from overseas can arrive.
Clark and Pa Kent have a talk and Clark convinces him to have the surgery as he can't stand the thought of life without his father. While at the Kents, Garrett learns his brother was cremated against his wishes and he and Clark go to the hospital to look into it. But Vince's body has not been cremated but flown to Metropolis to a secret lab where we see Dr. Teng who works for Lionel Luthor inject a secret formula into Vince who suddenly jumps up from the table quite alive! Garrett is told that Vince was flown to Metropolis General Hospital for his organs to be donated to other patients.
Chloe and Lex are working together to locate Dr. Teng and it seems she got in our country by marrying a Luthorcorp guard years ago. A guard who now watches over a closed medical supply building that Lionel Luthor owns and won't sell despite his advisors' counsel to do so. Chloe is warned by Lex to leave the rest of the investigation to him as his father is dangerous when threatened and Lex is better suited to look into his father's affairs. Clark and Garrett return to the Kent farm and Clark is trying to console the young man when his supposedly dead brother Vince staggers into the barn shocking them both!
He tells about how he awoke on the table with Dr. Teng standing over him with a needle and then he escaped from the facility and made his way back to Smallville. But as he's talking his skin turns yellow and his eyes start to bleed as he collapses on the barn floor. He is rushed back to Smallville Medical Center where the Doctors tell Garrett despite his miracle revival Vince will still die without a liver transplant. Pa and Ma Kent tell Clark to help his friend as Pa's about to be operated on and Clark can help his friend and that way he won't worry so much about Pa. Clark meets Lana and she tells him about Adam Knight having died of liver disease and that he was using a drug to stay alive also.
The doctor tells Garrett his brother will die again soon and Garrett rushes from the hospital swearing to save him. Clark confronts the helicopter pilot who flew Vince's body to Metropolis and threatens to expose him if he doesn't take Clark wherever he took Vince after he died. The pilot agrees and flies to the city and lands on the building's roof and leaves Clark who listens in on a conversation inside between Dr. Teng and Lex who has just found her there. Lex sees the vial filled with the special formula and wants to know whose blood is being used to develop the formula. But as they speak, Clark speeds through the room too fast to be seen and steals the vial to try and save Vince with it!
Pa's operation begins and as it does, Garrett returns to the hospital with a bomb strapped to his chest that contains Kryptonite as his brother used it in his demolition business to obtain more explosive results. And he threatens to detonate the bomb unless his brother is given a liver transplant immediately! Clark returns with the vial and over the phone he convinces Garrett to let his hostages go and he'll bring him the vial which can help his brother. Garrett releases the hostages and Clark gives him the vial but as soon as it gets close to the Kryptonite on his chest, the vial bubbles and turns color. Then when the doctor injects it into Vince it has no effect on him. Garrett then tells Clark and the Doctor that he wants Pa Kent's liver given to his brother or he'll explode the bomb killing them all!
On orders from the Sheriff, a police sniper takes aim at Garrett through a nearbly window and shoots Garrett who dies instantly but his finger detonates the bombs as he dies. Clark grabs a lead chest protector from the x-ray room, and at super-speed he rips the bomb off of Garrett's chest and races it out in back of the hospital where it detonates without harming anyone. Inside, Pa Ken't operation goes on to a successfull conclusion. Dr. Teng tells Lex that against Lionel Luthor's orders she has kept Adam Knight alive and hidden but that he is slowly dying again from liver disease just as Vince Davis did.
Pa Kent is released from the hospital and Ma and Clark are very happy and relieved. Clark tells his parents about the serum made from his blood reviving dead people and wonders if he should go public with his secrets to help save people's lives. Pa assures him that someday he will save more lives then even he can ever know or realize.

Dr. Teng: Francoise Yip

Our Story:
Clark accompanies Pete to a youth center where he volunteers weekly. While there Clark picks up a crisis hotline call that comes in from Lana in which she's screaming for help to Clark. During the call we see Adam Knight is chasing Lana down in a rainstorm with a shotgun. And he finally catches up to her in an alley and shoots her dead while Pete and Clark can only listen helplessly! Clark races to the Talon and instead of a dead Lana, he finds Lana and Chloe sitting there calmly studying for an exam!
The Sheriff and Lana listen to a recording of the call the next day but Sheriff Adams dismisses it as a crank call. Chloe, Lana, and Clark use the computers at school to analyze the call and by isolating static in it, they hear Adam screaming in the rain that Lana lied to him. They also get cross-talk interference of a basketball game that's not going to be played until that night. Inexplicably, the phone call was made this evening and somehow was broadcast into the past of last night!
Lex confronts his father about the experiments Lionel Luthor has had run using an unknown blood source, which we know is Clarks blood, that he's been using to revive victims who've died of liver disease. His father denies any knowledge of the experiments but Lex tells him he doesn't want to inform on him to the police, but he wants to be his partner and be put in charge of the project!
The next day Lionel Luthor has the lab and all its results moved to a new secret location. When he leaves, Dr. Teng goes to where she has Adam hidden, Lionel Luthor thinks he died last week, and gives him one last dose of the medicine that will keep him alive for only 12 more hours. Adam realizes he only has that much time to live and attacks the Doctor. Clark visits Lex and begs him to tell where Adam is being hidden as it could mean Lana's life. Lex relents and takes Clark to the secret lab and all they find is a trail of technicians' bodies including Dr. Tengs. It seems that Adam has killed everyone in the lab and now is out there somewhere stalking Lana!
Lex reports the murders and covers for his father's activities in the lab to the police, but then informs his father he won't take over the project now and that Lionel has to "clean up his own mess". Chloe finds out that the call was made from someones cell phone they don't know and Clark decides to hide Lana out at the Kent farm until that night passes. Clark finds that the women who owns the cell phone that Lana called from works at Smallville Medical Center and he goes there and questions the woman. She tells Clark her husband is using the phone and calls it to track him down. As they speak over the phone, Adam knocks the man out and takes his truck and phone. By the time Clark gets there however, Adam has escaped and is nowhere to be found!
While visiting Lex to try and track down where Adam would search for more serum, the Metropolis police arrive and want to question Clark and Lex about the multiple murders Adam committed. And they won't allow Clark to leave until they're done and it's starting to rain out which means the events of the phone call are starting to occur and Clark is trapped with Lex and can't help Lana. Adam kidnaps Chloe and since she's using Clark's family truck he figures that's where Lana's hidden and takes Chloe with him to the Kent farm. Once there he knocks out Chloe and then Pa Kent and takes his shotgun with him along with Lana who he's caught hiding at the farm!
The police find evidence that Lionel Luthor had planted that makes it look like Lex was in charge of the project the whole time. Clark tells the police they must let him go as he's a minor being held without his parent's consent and they reluctantly release him. He runs home to find his father and Chloe and they tell him about Adam kidnapping Lana. He knows Lana will call the youth center hotline and he dashes there for the call. Meanwhile Adam has taken Lana to where she stored all his items from the apartment in hopes of finding serum he hid amongst his belongings but once there they find the serum has been taken. Lana breaks loose from Adam and grabbing the phone he stole she calls the hotline as the events leading up to her death are now taking place!
As she runs for her life Lana calls the hotline and suddenly lightning topples the telephone pole outside the youth center and it shorts out through kryptonite rocks lying nearby. Their strange radiation arcs through the current and that's what caused the call to be broadcast into the past. Clark races outside and though the meteor rocks are weakening him he manages to lift the phone line out of the shorting current. The phone call clears enough for Lana to tell him she's at the storage facility just as Adam catches up to her and shoots what will be the shot that kills Lana!
At super-speed Clark races to the sight and takes the shotgun blast meant to kill Lana right in his chest while Lana falls unhurt to the ground without seeing what just happened. Clark walks over to Adam who tells Clark he saw him stop the bullet and he now knows why Lionel Luthor wanted him to spy on Clark. Then his deadly disease catches up to him and for the second and final time Adam Knight tragically dies. We then see that the F.B.I. has taken over Lex's case and he tells the federal agent that if the charges are dropped and he's granted immunity, he'll help the authorities bring down his father.
Back at Luthorcorp we see Lionel Luthor recruiting a new doctor to take over the research that the deceased Dr. Teng was conducting. After the doctor leaves Lionel takes out a medical report that shows that he's got an unknown liver disease and he's been diagnosed as terminal. He's been running the research all this time to try and save his own life. He walks over and takes a huge handgun out of a box in his desk. He sits down and as the scene fades, he sticks the barrel of the gun into his mouth.

Our Story:
Pa Kent is trying to put a new weathervane on the barn roof when the key to Clark's spaceship lights up in the toolbox in the barn where it's hidden emmiting a high-pitched hum that causes Pa to get dizzy and fall from the roof. But Clark speeds underneath Pa catching him and saving him from any injury. Clark retrieves the key from the toolbox and takes it to the Kawatche caves where the key has triggered several phenomena associated with Jorel, Clark's Kryptonian biological father, such as teaching Clark the Kryptonian alphabet and language.
In his office in Metropolis, Lionel Luthor has a gun to his chin about to commit suicide due to the news he has an incurable liver disease. But then his phone rings and when he speaks to whoever calls him, he puts down the gun and rushes out. Clark has arrived at the caves and once there he uses the key to open a portal in the wall shaped for it to fit into, but suddenly Lionel Luthor appears interrupting Clark. Clark leaves but after he does Lionel notices the opening for the key in the wall that has now appeared! Lionel goes to Lex and tries to convince Lex that Clark is behind all the mysteries of the caves but Lex remains unconvinced even though his father tells him he knows Lex keeps an entire archive devoted to finding out Clark's secrets.
But what Lionel doesn't know is that Lex is wearing a bug and the F.B.I. is taping the conversation as Lex has agreed to help bring his father to justice for his many crimes. Afterwards the F.B.I. agents press Lex for information about Clark but he tries to keep them away from Clark by telling them his deal is about getting his father and nobody else. They tell Lex that Clark is acquainted with the famous Dr. Virgil Swann but Lex hides his surprise at this news. Lionel Luthor pays Dr. Swann a visit and tells him he knows of his communications with Clark Kent and he will give Dr. Swann the conservacy rights to the caves if he'll convince Clark to use the key for him. Dr. Swann tells Lionel he knows he's dying and Lionel answers that by saying he feels the technology of the caves can save him but Dr. Swann refuses him. But before Lionel leaves Dr. Swann suggests a possible arrangement, but the scene fades and we don't know what that arrangement may be.
When Clark next arrives at the caves Lionel Luthor has the cave packed with technicians and equipment dedicated to unlocking the cave's technology. Meanwhile, the F.B.I. swarms over the Kent farm with a search warrent tearing it apart. Before Ma Kent can stop them, one agent breaks into the toolbox that holds the key. Clark sees Lana and tells her how his Dad has been suffering with depression since his heart attack, but he doesn't mention his father's conflicts with Jorel. Clark suddenly kisses Lana but she tells him to concentrate on his father, not their relationship. Clark finds Pa Kent at his parents gravesite, and Pa Kent tells him he feels he's a failure at protecting Clark but Clark reminds him that he and Ma need Pa very much and they leave for home.
Lana confides in Lex that Clark wants to renew their relationship but she's tired of Clark not being completely honest with her and doesn't know if she can trust him again. Clark and Pa return home to find it ransacked and Ma tells them the key was taken, but suddenly Pa produces it from his pocket showing he'd been carrying it the whole time. Clark asks Lex for help in Lionel Luthor's campaign against him and tells about the raid on his farm. Lex goes to see the agents he's working with but they assure Lex it wasn't they who raided the farm. But Clark is outside having followed Lex and he overhears the conversation and confronts Lex with what he's learned. Lex tells Clark about his deal and that it was Lionel Luthor's people impersonating federal agents who tore his farm apart. Lex also tells Clark that Lionel Luthor and Dr. Swann have been talking to each other.
Clark confronts Dr. Swann about all this and Swann reminds Clark it was he that destroyed the ship and ran off to Metropolis for months since he found out about his heritage and Swann also says he wants Lionel to have access to the caves. Clark tells him about Jorel giving his father powers to bring Clark home and that his father may die from his deal with Jorel. Then Swann shows him that a message written in Kryptonian has been broadcasting and he shows it to Clark. Clark translates the message and it says, "I am waiting". But Swann explains that the message is being sent by Jorel and was heard by Pa Kent and not Clark because it's intended for Pa. Clark races home and tells Ma that Pa has been getting messages from Jorel and he's right for Pa has already left with the key!
Pa goes to the caves with a shotgun and he orders everyone out but Lionel Luthor. Then he warns Lionel to stay away from his son and the two men begin to fight with each other. As they do, the key floats out of Pa's pocket and starts to glow. The two men watch as it goes into the keyhole and bright lights flash everywhere. Then Clark comes in and separates the two men and Lionel Luthor's security rushes in and holds the two Kent men at gunpoint. Pa tells Lionel he knows it was he who had his farm raided and not the authorities so Luthor's men let the Kents go. But before they leave, one of Luthor's technicians points out the keyhole is now sealed and Lionel Luthor says the key must be sealed inside the cave wall now.
Lana goes to see Clark the next day and tells him she wants to see more of life and figure out what it is she truly wants in life first before she can think about having another relationship with Clark. After she leaves Clark and Pa talk about Pa's deal with Jorel and Clark wants to know about the message Pa has been getting from Jorel but Pa refuses to discuss it with Clark. Clark wonders how they'll retrieve the key from the wall with Lionel Luthor controlling access to the caves and Pa tells Clark he can still feel the key sending the message and he somehow knows it's not in the cave wall. And we see he is right for sitting in his home staring at the key in a box is none other then Dr. Virgil Swann who somehow has taken possession of it!

Our Story:
Chloe visits a co-worker of her fathers before he was fired from Luthorcorp to see if she can get him any help finding another job. The man tells her that Lex Luthor is opening new and dangerous projects and her father is better off gone fron the plant. As she leaves she takes the man's security ID from his car and uses it to sneak into Smallville's Luthorcorp division. Once inside, she sneaks into a laboratory but when she bumps into a panel, the doors all seal closed and green gas floods the room! She screams and then faints as alarms ring and technicians call for decontamination and security units. When they clear the room of gas and then enter, Chloe revives and manages to sneak out of the plant without being caught.
The next day at school Chloe and Clark ask Mrs. Taylor when they can interview her for her Teacher of the Year award and she tells then she can't as she watched TV and didn't prepare for today's classes! Then when Pete Ross sees the two he tells Chloe that Clark will be running at super-speed tonight to get them hot dogs from Metropolis Stadium! Clark steers Pete away from Chloe and Pete tells Clark he felt an urge to tell Chloe the truth about him and Clark advises him to stay away from her.
Lex and his father meet and Lionel tells Lex he suspects Lex is running projects he hasn't been told about but Lex denies it all. Later when Chloe is visiting Clark, suddenly Ma Kent tells Chloe about Clark's biological father driving him away last summer when he ran off to Metropolis and Clark once again covers up and hustles Chloe out from the house. Now he knows it's not the people that are telling Chloe these things that's the problem; something has obviously happened to Chloe that compels people to tell her the absolute truth when they speak to her! Clark sees Lana at the Talon coffeeshop and she mentions that a man called the other night and was looking for Chloe as his ID had been stolen and the Luthorcorp plant was broken into that same night.
The next day at school Chloe catches up with Mrs. Taylor just as she's arriving with her son and Chloe starts to interview her. But then Mrs. Taylor blurts out that she is really someone else who's been a fugitive from justice as she's wanted in connection for a bombing by a radical student group back in the 1970s! Her son and Chloe can only stare in shock as she also says a bank guard was accidentally killed and then she runs away in horror over what she just told Chloe. Chloe prints the story in the school paper and becomes a pariah for her role in the teacher's ruin. When Clark tells her he knows what's going on, Chloe tells him she likes the power she's gained and she walks up to student after student making them tell her their personal secrets. But when she tries to use her power on Clark she finds it doesn't work on him.
Clark breaks into Luthorcorp and finds a file on a project called Levitas but he's caught by Lex who questions him about the break-in the other night. He asks Clark who it was and tells him that he was running an old project his father had dropped but that the person who was exposed to the gas is in serious medical danger. Mrs. Taylor's son Bill tells Chloe his mother's in hiding and his life is ruined but Chloe tells him that she merely printed the truth. Then Lana tells Chloe she's applied for school in Paris and she can't wait to leave Smallville as everyone there is so critical of her. Before Chloe rushes off, Lana also tells her she didn't confide in her more because she can't really trust her!
Clark tells Lex it was Chloe that broke into the plant and Lex meets with Chloe who denies nothing. When Lex asks Chloe to use her power to help defeat his father she asks why he hates his father. Lex tells her it's because his father has never given Lex the only thing he's ever wanted from him, his love. Clark and Pete trick Chloe into meeting them at the hospital to get her treatment, and when she arrives Pete tells Chloe he's in love with her but never told her because he knew the way she feels about Clark. But as he runs off, Chloe grabs her head in pain and collapses and is taken away by hospital staff for care. Pete tells Clark he never mentioned his feelings for Chloe to him as he feels he can't compete with Clark.
Chloe seems allright and when Lionel Luthor drops in to talk to her she makes him admit that he killed his parents for the insurance money to give him his start in business. She records his confession on her voicemail over her cell phone while he talks and tells Lionel Luthor she'll use the information against him if he doesn't stop having her father kept out of work. Lionel Luthor tells Chloe she's endangering herself by learning what she just did and then he tells Chloe if she uses her power to find out where Clark came from he'll get her father a job. Clark finds a man who worked on the Levitas project before it was dropped and he tells Clark that Chloe will die in 24 hours from exposure to the gas. Then he gives Clark an experimental antidote but he also tells Clark it's never been tested.
Clark calls Chloe on her cell phone as she's driving down the road and tells her the danger she's in from the gas. But as they talk, Mrs. Taylor's son Bill rams into Chloe with his truck nearly pushing Chloe off a bridge through it's railing. As he rams her car again and again trying to push it off the bridge, Chloe screams over the phone where all this is happening and then passes out as the side effects of the gas start to kill her. Clark runs there at super-speed and knocks Bill Taylor out and pulls Chloe's car to safety as it teeters on the edge of the bridge. Then he gives Chloe the antidote to the gas that revives her, but she has now lost her ability to make people tell her the truth.
Chloe tells Clark she was going to see his parents and use her power to get the truth about him to help her father regain his job. She then tells him she's sorry and she hopes she never hurts him again. Later Lana sees Clark and she tells him she's leaving for school in Paris as she doesn't want to spend all her life just in Smallville. And when Chloe checks her voice-mail for the confession that Lionel Luthor made, she instead finds a message from the elder Luthor telling her he's had the message erased and then he hangs up. Chloe now realizes because she knows about Lionel Luthor having had his parents killed, he will have to prevent her from ever telling anyone the truth.

Our Story:
It is years ago at a private school that a young Lex Luthor attends and his father has been called as Lex is out on a ledge in the pouring rain singing a lullaby to a blanket he's holding in his arms! His father arrives and Lex insists the blanket is his dead brother Julian and his father tells him to come with him and approaches Lex. Lex dangles near the edge and then the blanket falls from his hands as Lex screams "Julian!" over and over. Then it is present day and we see Lex was really dangling on the edge of a ledge at the Talon coffeeshop and Lana has just pulled him to safety as Lex awakens from the powerful dream!
Lana goes to see Clark and asks him to see Lex and he tells her to stay away from Lex until this is resolved. When Clark goes to see him, Lex insists his mental state is fine and he was merely sleepwalking. But afterwards, Lex goes to Summerholt Institute in Metropolis and once there Lex allows a Dr. Garner to treat him for the memory loss he sustained after being electro-shocked on his father's orders. Lex is lowered into a tank filled with green liquid and he starts to relive his twelfth birthday party and he's in tears as nobody came. To console him, Lex's father gives him his present from his mother; a box that was supposedly made by St. George the Dragonslayer from his armor. Lionel Luthor tells Lex that as St. George did, he should put all his worries and fears into the box and then close it sealing all his woes within which will make him strong and fearless.
As his memory ends the treatment is over and we see that Clark has followed Lex and has seen his treatment from atop the building using his x-ray vision. Clark confronts Lex as he leaves and begs him to stop this dangerous procedure but Lex refuses. Clark goes to Lionel Luthor and asks him to try and stop Lex and Lionel tries to warn Lex also. But while he's talking to him, Lex has another memory of his parents fightng over his newborn brother Julian. Lex's mother Lillian tells Lionel that she won't let him have this new son so he can use each of their children in his schemes for power and then Lex's father catches him watching all this and the reverie ends.
Lex awakens from the dream and says, "It was an accident, Dad" with tears in his eyes and then his dream begins again and now he is standing over his brother's crib and his father has just entered the room. Lex tells him it was an accident and that the baby was crying and he picked him up and then Lex's voice trails off as his father rushes to the crib and in horror sees that the baby Julian is dead! Lionel Luthor turns and he slaps Lex down while screaming at him in anger and grief. Lex awakens on the floor of his library with his father over him asking how he feels. Lex shrugs his father off proclaiming he only cares about keeping Lex from recalling the seven lost weeks in his memory and he angrily tells his father to get out and the elder Luthor leaves.
Lionel goes to see Clark and he tells him that Lex insists on continuing his treatments at Summerholt. He also tells Clark that if Lex suffers any permanent damage from the treatments, he intends to have him put away in a sanitarium for the rest of his life. Clark races to Dr. Garner's lab in Metropolis and he tells the Doctor he musn't treat Lex anymore or he'll damage his brain. As he talks to him alongside the tank with the green liquid in it, he weakens and collapses from the effects of what is now obviously Kryptonite used in Garner's experiments. Garner has Clark wired up and he puts him in the treatment tank at once. Lionel Luthor calls and hearing that Clark has fallen into his trap, he orders Garner to use his machine immediately to find out where Clark comes from!
Lex arrives at Summerholt and calls his father inside interrupting Clark's treatment. Lionel tells Garner to wait until he returns but Garner starts the treatment anyway! As the kryptonite and Garner's apparatus begin to work on Clark, we see his parents Jor-El and Lara placing him in his spacecraft. His mother worries about her baby being loved and Jor-El tells her his destiny is set as is theirs and the ship closes with young Kal-El inside. As his memory ends, Clark screams his mother Lara's name over and over and suddenly an energy feedback surges from Clark back into the machinery and it explodes so violently the entire building shakes! Lex races inside to the memory lab and frees Clark by breaking the tank he's inside of.
Clark and Lex talk afterwards at the Kent farm and Clark tells Lex he and his father's war with each other is making Lex more like his father everyday. Lex declares he will never be like his father and then Clarks asks why his father hates him so much and Lex turns to leave. But another memory dream starts for Lex at that moment and this time we see that Lex found his Mother after she had smothered his baby brother and that Lex took the blame for his brother Julian's death. As Lex awakens Clark asks if he's allright and Lex says he's fine and goes to see his father.
He tells his father the truth about Julian's death and when Lionel Luthor hears that he's hated Lex all these years for nothing he asks Lex why he took the blame and his father's scorn all these years. Lex responds that as Lex is his only heir, the elder Luthor would never hurt Lex. But Lionel Luthor would have destroyed Lillian Luthor if he had ever known the truth that she killed their son on purpose; although the poor woman lost her sanity as a result anyway. Lionel Luthor tries to reconcile with his son as he realizes how he's wronged him all these years, but Lex rebuffs him and leaves.
Ma Kent asks Clark about what happened at Summerholt and he tells her his mother's name was Lara and he's upset he'd forgotten her. Ma tells Clark that he didn't forget her as Lara was his first word and until now they had never understood what it meant. Clark then tells his mother he wishes his mother could have known how much Ma and Pa Kent love him and she tells him his mother knows how much he's loved as a mother's love never dies. Clark takes solace in believing that somewhere right now, his biological mother is smiling down at him and she is content that he is indeed loved.

Our Story:
Lionel Luthor's people find an ancient Kawatche Indian artifact in the caves where much of what's connected with Clark's Kryptonian heritage has developed. Luthor brings Professor Willowbrook and his young protege Jeremiah Holdsclaw to the caves to identify the artifact. They tell Luthor that the artifact is called "Palac" and they'd like to take it back to the museum and study it but he refuses to allow it to leave the cave. Suddenly Jeremiah grabs the artifact and when he breaks it open, inside is a blade with writing on it and energy surges from the blade into Jeremiah. He throws Lionel Luthor aside like a toy and then Luthor's security men all start shooting at the young man. But the bullets all bounce off the young man and then he super-speeds away from the cave leaving everyone stunned at what they've just seen!
At the Kent farm, Professor Willowbrook visits Clark calling him "Naman" and he leaves him a book about the legend of the "Starblade". Clark shows it to Pa and tells him legends says the knife was left for safeguarding with the Kawatches and it will give the bearer powers to protect the blade until it's delivered to the Naman so that he may fight his enemy, the "Zegit". Pa advises Clark to find the blade and keep it from falling into Lionel Luthor's hands. Chloe finds Pete arguing on the phone and wearing the same clothes as he wore yesterday, but he denies anything's going on and then runs off to class.
Lex vists his father and offers to help track Jeremiah down but Lionel can't bring himself to trust Lex and refuses him. Lana gets accepted to the Paris School of Arts, but can't go because she can't find the money to pay for it. Chloe tells her to ask Lex to loan her the money but she won't accept help from anyone. Chloe tells Lana to use Lex as an example and not let anything stop her from fullfilling her dreams. Clark goes to Central A&M Kansas University where Jeremiah is a teaching assistant and he finds Lex in the man's office which has been ransacked. The two are suspicious of each other's motives but before they leave they find that Jeremiah has painted the office blinds in a Kawatche mural pattern.
Lionel Luthor tries to get Professor Willowbrook to help him find Jeremiah and the Professor tells him that if the Zegit, the evil one, touches the blade it will crumble. Luthor leaves as Clark arrives and the Professor tells Clark the mural means Jeremiah is at the Kawatche burial grounds. They find Jeremiah there and try to talk him into giving up the blade but its power has corrupted Jeremiah and he shoots heat vision from his eyes blowing the Professor's cars up. Clark and the Professor are knocked down by the explosion and when they arise, Jeremiah has sped away! Clark tells Ma and Pa that Jeremiah is convinced he's Naman and that Lionel Luthor is Zegit and he's going to use the blade to stab him and save his people.
Ma reminds Clark the legends say that the Zegit was supposedly the Naman's friend in the beginning of their relationship and Clark hopes the legends aren't accurate. Pa tells Clark to try using Kryptonite to stop Jeremiah since he may have Clark's weakness for it too. Lana finds out that Lex is selling the Talon coffeeshop so she can use her half of the money to finance her trip to Paris. Lex tells Lana the place loses money anyway and the only reason he ever kept it open was for her. He asks Lana what she wants more, to stay in Smallville at the Talon or go to school in Paris. Lionel Luthor asks Clark to help get the knife so he can use it's alien metal to make a new key for the mechanisms in the cave. Clark tells him he thought the key was still in the cave walls and Luthor tells him his scientists haven't found it there.
Clark asks Professor Willowbrook to get a message to Jeremiah through his tribe contacts. When Jeremiah comes to see Clark, Clark tries using Kryptonite on Jeremiah but it has no effect! Then Jeremiah and Clark fight at super-speed and Jeremiah uses the blade to stab Clark and leaves him bleeding to death on the barn floor! Then Jeremiah kidnaps Lionel Luthor from his limo and takes him to the burial grounds to use the Starblade to kill him. Chloe finds Pete has been at school overnight again and he angrily refuses to talk to Chloe when she asks about a federal judgeship Pete's mother is up for. He accuses her of only caring about headlines for the school paper and not being his friend. Ma and Pa find Clark has staggered into the house and is nearly dead from loss of blood. Pa puts pressure on the wound to stop the bleeding and suddenly energy pours from Pa's hands into Clark healing his wound. Ma asks how Pa did he that and he answers he has no idea.
Clark awakens later recovered but weakened, and Ma and Pa tell him how he was healed and Clark knows that Jor-El is somehow responsible. Clark runs off to stop Jeremiah from killing Lionel Luthor and he arrives tackling the super-powered young man just as he's about to stab Luthor. The two battle through the forest with their great powers and while they do, Lex arrives back at the burial grounds and frees his father. Then the two men collide at super-speed and the collision hurls the knife from Jeremiah's grip and knocks the young man unconcious. As a result of the great powers he refused to relinguish, he ends up slipping into a coma he may never recover from!
The knife lands right next to Lex and his father glowing with the power contained inside it. Clark watches from the woods as the two Luthors grab for the knife and as they touch it, it crumbles into dust in front of them. Clark races back to the farm and tells Ma and Pa he can't be sure which of the two Luthor's is Zegit and caused the knife to crumble, as he's not sure which Luthor touched the blade first. Pa reminds Clark that legends aside, we all write our own destinies eventually. Lana suprises Lex by telling him that he can sell the Talon as she's decided to go to Paris and she doesn't want anything pulling her back to Smallville.
Chloe catches Pete sleeping in the school paper's office and he confesses he hasn't been home since he found out his parents are divorcing and his Mom is moving away. Chloe comforts Pete as he contemplates his whole life as he knows it falling apart. Lex goes to see Clark and tells him his interpretation of the legend of Naman is different. He asks Clark to consider that Naman supposedly has great strength and can shoot fire from his eyes. He says that such a person could be a great threat to mankind and anyone who would fight such a man would be very brave and actually be the hero of the tale. And therefore the Naman himself would turn out to be the true villain, Zegit. And Clark realizes that being hero or villain is just a matter of the combatant's perspective.

Our Story:
Lex has just given Lana an open-ended, leave and return when you please, 1st class ticket upgrade for her flight to Paris where she's attending school for a year. Clark drops in to visit Lex, and Lex advises Clark to either be completely honest with Lana or let her go and let her live her life. Meanwhile, the clone of Lana's long dead childhood friend Emily Dinsmore is still being held by Lionel Luthor under observation, and she has grown into a full-grown young lady in only 12 months! After her technician leaves, Emily vibrates faster then the eye can follow and simply walks through the walls of her locked room and heads for Smallville. Once there she confronts the man who has bought the Talon coffeeshop that Lana once ran, and kills him by sticking her hand into his chest while telling him the Talon belongs to Lana!
Pete Ross tells Clark his parents are divorcing and his Mom is moving to Wichita, but he's staying with his Dad in Smallville for his senior year of high school. Clark tells Pete he's thinking about telling Lana the whole truth about himself and Pete advises against it. Clark asks Lana over for dinner saying he wants to tell her something important, and she accepts. Lionel Luthor contacts Mr. Dinsmore who originally used Kyryptonite to clone his daughter and relieve his grief at her death, and sends him to Smallville to get Emily back.
Chloe and Lana go to meet the Talon's new owner, and they find Emily who says she's his daughter "Emma" and when she asks Lana to train her in the business, Lana agrees. Ma Kent tells Clark she trusts him enough to let him decide for himself wether or not to tell Lana his secrets. While Lana is working with Emily at the Talon, Mr. Dinsmore shows up and warns Lana that Emily is dangerous and he's come to get her. Emily sneaks up behind him and kills him like she did Mr. Kerns, and then she knocks Lana out. When Lana awakens, she's in a sealed room like Emily's that's in a barn outside town, and Emily intends to keep her there so they can be friends together forever!
Lionel Luthor confronts Lex telling him he knows he's been informing on him to the F.B.I., and Lex denies nothing citing the fact his father sold him out to the police for the Metron lab deaths a few weeks ago. An F.B.I. agent working for Lionel Luthor calls and tells him that Lex has no proof against him for any crimes, and he's investigating Pete Ross to get more information on Clark Kent. After Lana doesn't show up for her dinner with Clark, Pa Kent tells Clark although he doesn't agree with his decision to tell Lana everything, he will respect it as Clark's choice to make. When Clark goes looking for Lana, Emily lies to him and tells him Lana has already left for Paris.
Lana tries to talk Emily into letting her go, but Emily is insistent that Lana stays with her and she tells Lana how everyone in town thinks she has already left for Paris. When Lex tells Clark that the Talon's new owner doesn't have a daughter, Clark confronts Emily who races off straight through a wall leaving Clark behind. Lionel Luthor goes to see Chloe and tells her about Emily while showing her the girl's picture. Chloe knows the girl in the picture is the Talon's supposed new owner, but she says nothing to Luthor about it. Clark tells Chloe that Lex is trying to get his father jailed and she thinks she may be able help Lex with his father. Then when Chloe and Clark compare what they know about Emily, they figure out that she's kidnapped Lana and look up her old family address in Smallville to track her down.
Lana has managed to catch Emily off guard and stuns her and frees herself, but Emily catches up to her and ties her down in her cage. Then she hooks up a pesticide sprayer in the barn to vent into Lana's cage and says she's going to kill her for trying to leave her best friend alone! Clark races to the property and smashes the cage freeing Lana while Emily runs away. Clark takes off after her at super-speed and shoots heat-vision ahead of Emily at the legs of a water tower she's fast approaching. The tower's front legs buckle from the intense heat and the tower collapses in front of Emily, dousing her with a cascade of water knocking her out!
Chloe tells Lex if he can have the voice mail retrieved she recorded that his father had erased, he can have his father arrested with the recorded confession of the elder Luthor's murder of his parents for the insurance money. The F.B.I. agent has taken Pete Ross into custody and is trying to beat the truth about Clark out of Pete. Lex finds him and gives him the voicemail confession his father made and the agent lets Pete go free. Lex tells Pete that Clark was wisest to trust Pete with whatever his secrets are, as Pete never cracked. He then tells Pete he expects him to help Lex out someday in return for his help in getting Pete free. After Lex leaves, Clark arrives and Pete tells him that Lex knows he's hiding something and he'll never rest until he finds out the truth.
Then Pete shocks Clark and tells him he's moving to Wichita with his mother, as he can't take the pressure anymore of knowing Clark's secret and the fear he may someday inadverdantly betray Clark. He then tearfully hugs Clark goodbye and leaves, while a stunned Clark watches him go. Lana goes to Clark and asks what it is that Clark wanted to tell her and he just tells her to have a great time and he hopes she finds what she's looking for. He now painfully realizes that Lana knowing his secrets would only endanger her. Lex confronts his father about the fact that Emily's disappeared and his father tells him to always clean up loose ends. Suddenly Lex brings in the F.B.I. agents he's been working with and they arrest Lionel Luthor for his parent's murders. As he's taken away, Lionel Luthor reminds Lex that Judas the betrayer hung himself with his own rope.

Our Story:
A beautiful young blonde woman walks through the woods at night without any clothes on. She exits the trees onto a highway and when a truck is about to hit her, she strikes it with her fist causing it to flip over and explode into flames! She continues walking until she reaches the Kent farm and knocks on the front door. When Clark opens the door, she tells him that her name is Kara and she is from Krypton! The Kents give Kara some clothes while she tells Clark she's Kryptonian like he is, and that she came from a portal in the Kawatche caves where she will take Clark back to a place where he will learn everything he wants to know about himself. Suddenly Kara disappears as Lex drops by and he and Clark talk in the barn about Lex's father being arrested for his parent's murders for insurance money to give him his start in business. Lex is angry with Clark as he's found out that Clark had known about the murders but didn't tell Lex. Clark explains he was afraid to endanger Lex, but now he's willing to testify about Lex's father having Lex electro-shocked so that the elder Luthor can't go free on bail. Agent Loder of the F.B.I. tells Lionel Luthor due to the evidence against him, that he's letting the government go ahead with their prosecution of him.
Kara keeps trying to convince Clark to go with her to the caves and then all his questions will be answered. To convince him she holds him and then flies into the air telling him someday he'll be able to fly also. Then she shows him the fissure in the cave made by where she exited the walls into this world. She tells Clark she's waited in the cave walls at Jor-El's bidding as his consciousness has survived within the mechanisms in the walls and waits to teach Clark all he needs to know. Lionel Luthor is visited in jail by Lex and he tells Lex he's dying of liver disease and he's sending his medical files to Lex to prove it so Lex will help free him from prison before he dies.
When Pa Kent is skeptical of Kara's motives, she confronts him and tells him to admit the pact he made with Jor-El. Pa tells them he promised Jor-El that if he gave him the powers he needed to bring Clark home from his red Kryptonite rampage in Metropolis, Pa would one day return Clark to his birth father! Ma and Clark are upset with Pa for the deal he made but Pa tells them he felt that at the time he had no other choice. Suddenly Kara detects that F.B.I. agent Loder is outside the farm listening to them. She speeds up to him and starts to choke the man and he drives his car to get away from her. But then she speeds ahead of him and an energy field comes out of her hands and the agent and his car simply vanish into thin air. It's now obvious that Kara is even more powerful then Clark!
Pa Kent takes a teacup with Kara's fingerprints on it to Chloe and asks her to find out whose fingerprints they are. Clark promises Lana he'll see her off at the airport tomorrow when she leaves for school in Paris. Kara tells Clark that everyone he knows will end up leaving or betraying him and he should go with her but he still refuses. Then Clark gets a special delivery from Lionel Luthor that contains a simple door key. Lex tells Chloe his father's dying and he's worried what his father will do to stop her from testifying that he confessed the murders to her. Chloe tells Lex she and her father are being moved to a safe house by the F.B.I. to protect them from harm.
Clark goes and asks Lionel Luthor what the key is for, and Lionel tells him the key opens the door of a room in Lex's mansion that he should see. Clark goes to the room and finds it's the archives Lex keeps in his investigation of all the unexplained events surrounding Clark since Lex came to Smallville. Lex finds Clark in the room and he tries to explain he just wants the truth and it's nothing personal against Clark. But Clark is furious and feels Lex has betrayed him after Clark defended Lex to everyone in town all these years and he storms out of the mansion. Lana is at the airport and Clark has been so caught up in events that he suddenly realizes he is late to see her off.
When he races to the airport with a rose for her, he sees Lex and Lana hugging each other and saying goodbye in front of the terminal. Lex leaves and Lana sees Clark across the street and runs over to meet him, but after a bus passes in front of him Clark disappears. All Lana finds when she reaches the spot where he stood is the rose he bought for her lying discarded on the pavement; Clark and Lana's chance for a goodbye now gone. Chloe and Lex meet at the courthouse and then Clark arrives and testifies against Lionel Luthor and prevents him from being bailed out. With Chloes' taped confession of the murders of his parents as evidence, Lionel Luthor will be indicted for their slayings.
Lex tries to thank Clark for stopping his father from going free, but Clark tells him that he only was doing the right thing and as far as he's concerned, his and Lex's friendship is over. With Pete and Lana gone, his best friend Lex having betrayed him, and his father having made the deal with Jor-El, Clark feels that everything in this life has gone wrong and he tells Kara he's ready to go with her. They go to the caves and the mechanisms start to open the portal in the walls. But then Pa Kent shows up with the proof Chloe found that Kara is really Lindsey Harrison from Smallville who vanished 16 years ago during the meteor shower!
It seems that Jor-El took Lindsey through the cave portal all those years ago and it was he that kept her there and then gave her powers and sent her to lure Clark to the caves. Then Jor-El's voice comes from the portal and commands Clark to enter with Kara. Clark refuses and Kara is whisked away through the energy door. Then Jor-El surrounds Pa Kent's neck with an energy band choking him and telling Clark that Pa will die if he doesn't obey. Despite Pa's protests he'd rather die and keep Clark free, Clark steps into the portal and vanishes from sight. Then the energy bands around Pa vanish and he collapses on the cave floor seemingly lifeless!
As Lionel Luthor sits in his cell having his head shaved, we see Lex in the mansion drinking some brandy, and Chloe is being escorted into a safe house by the F.B.I. for protective custody. And Ma Kent is racing towards a field on the farm because of something she sees happening there. As Lionel Luthor's hair falls to the cell floor, we also see the house Chloe just entered explode into a giant fireball leaving no stick standing. And then we see Lex collapsing on his library floor grasping his throat as if he's been poisoned. And Ma Kent stands in shock as she sees that a giant flaming Kryptonian symbol has just erupted in the field next to the house, and Pa Kent is still not moving and just lies there on the Kawatche cave floor. And then we see Clark curled up naked in a fetal position in a strange foggy place. And as the scene fades, we hear Jor-El tell Kal-El that now he will be reborn.
