I’m guessin’ this is in reference to the gross mistreatment of Superman by the Supergirl writers!! This isn’t something to *sigh* over — this is something to righteously bitch about!! Aren’t any of you Superman fans outraged by the “Supergirl is stronger” b.s. storypoint they had to put in??!!! It’s absurd — and I’ve always been curious why the “Superman” Homepage seems so Supergirl oriented !!?? Seems to me something should be attempted, fanwise, to correct this horrific concept!! 🙂

Supergirl is a series currently running on tv and it’s weekly. It’d be dumb for the Homepage not to put up news about the show when it comes out and you can bet that if there were a Superman tv series the Homepage crew would absolutely be on top of things with updates on that. Steve and the gang work really hard to make this a good site and part of the sites basic mission statement is to cover all things Superman and Superman related. As for the power levels thing I’m not really into measuring a characters worth based… Read more »

When actors who play good guys get the chance to play their evil counterpart; nine times out of ten, it seems they camp it up and they tend to lose their menace (looking at you, Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 3!) I really hope that Tyler Hoechlin doesn’t take it too far. I’ve loved the acting in the first two installments, please don’t bring it down in the finale.

You have a point about Tobey Maguire in Spider man 3. I thought that his dark version of Spiderman and Peter Parker in that movie was a bit annoying. Although I’ve always thought that Christopher Reeve did a fantastic job at playing the evil Supermen in Superman 3. As for Tyler, I’m going to have to wait until I see the episode before I give a verdict on it. One factor for me on judging this dark Superman, is whether or not that is Superman. It could be just the evil doctor who used the “magic book?” to make himself… Read more »

Look up the Red Kryptonite episode of the 80s Superboy series. You’ll be very glad Gerard Christopher toned it down for his later seasons.

I remember that one. There’s also the episode where he played sovereign, a evil version of Superboy from an alternate reality. I thought that Gerard did a pretty good job in that episode. He played a convincing bad guy in that one.I wonder if they’re paying homage to that episode with tonight‘s crossover event. Personally, I’m not a fan of whenever superman becomes evil. He’s not supposed to be evil. But if were talking about acting, if an actor can make the audience love him in one role but then hate him in another, then in my opinion, that shows… Read more »

Was Gerard still new to the role of superboy with the red Kryptonite episode? Maybe he was still setteling into the role and didn’t really know how to play evil superboy at that point. There is as also an episode where he was trapped in Luthor’s mind, and he thought he was Lex. He was a bit scary in that episode.

There was also the episode where superboy and lex switched bodies. I thought that episode was corny though.

I don’t know the order they were filmed in, but the red kryptonite episode is about the midpoint of the Second Season on the DVD release. Still, in his first season, Gerard Christopher really amped up the extremes of the Clark and Superboy personalities. Making Clark far too nerdy (depending on which version of the story you want to believe, his refusal to do so was a contributing factor in John Newton’s dismissal), and Superboy a bit one-dimensional in my nerdy opinion. So when he went evil, that got amped up too. When the format of the show changed in… Read more »

I’m still putting my thoughts together on the episode. I will say, bravo to Tyler on the role of Superman. He didn’t disappoint me.

There must be something REALLY significant happening given the short but sweet episode description. Several somethings, I would say.

Can’t wait to watch it tonight. The first two parts were awesome.
