Tickets are now on sale for the “Superman in Concert with The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra” event being hosted by the Royal Albert Hall.
Celebrate Hollywood’s greatest cinematic superhero in 2020 as part of the Royal Albert Hall’s Films in Concert series.
Directed by Richard Donner, and showcasing a young Christopher Reeve, Superman (1978) features a star-studded cast including Margot Kidder as intrepid reporter Lois Lane, Gene Hackman as the villainous Lex Luthor, and the inimitable Marlon Brando as Jor-El.
Donner’s beloved film adaptation relays the inspiring origins of Superman, from his narrow escape as an infant from the doomed planet Krypton, to his formative years on a farm in Smallville, Kansas, and finally to his arrival in Metropolis, where he leads dual lives as mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent and as the mythical ‘Man of Steel’.
Superman in Concert will see the film played in high-definition on the big screen, whilst John Williams’ triumphant original score is performed by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra live to picture.
Priority Booking for Royal Albert Hall Friends & Patrons is now open until 9am on Friday 4 October. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday 4 October.
The World Premiere of “Superman in Concert” will take place in Lucerne, Switzerland on May 16th (7.30pm-11.50pm) and May 17th (6.30pm-11.50pm), while the Royal Albert Hall concert will take place on Tuesday, October 27 at 7.30pm.
