“The Science of Superman” Premieres on YouTube

Warner Bros. will premiere the documentary “The Science of Superman” on YouTube today.

Superman. He’s the ultimate superhero. But how much of his science fiction universe makes sense when judged by the laws of science fact? In this hour, travel to the fictional Metropolis, Krypton and beyond, as images from Superman comics, TV shows and films–including highlights from the 2006 blockbuster Superman Returns–are used by scientists, artists and filmmakers to explore the real-life science that helps explain the Man of Steel’s super-powers.

It’s always great to see footage of Routh as Superman. Hopefully we will see Brandon Routh return to the roll of Superman in a HBO max Superman series and in future Superman films. 🙂 I truly believe that if we keep asking for more of Brandon’s Superman, it will happen. Brandon Routh for Superman! 😀

You’re right! It is great to see him as Superman. But I fear aside from what’s going to be seen on the CW, it’s going to be a while before anything main stream Superman comes around. Singer did a great job of showcasing all of Superman’s powers in SR. I can’t think of any other Superman, movie, TV or anything else that really displays his powers as good as how they were shown in SR. Side note about BR. For Brandon I do think it’s highly possible that we will see him again as Superman in one form of media or another. There’s rumors of him making an appearance in the upcoming Flash film and also rumors of a Superman HBOmax series that he would star in. For now they are just rumors, but there’s also a chance and the possibility of his return to Superman for the CW like how John Wesley Shipp did for the Flash series. The CW on a small scale can get away with doing things. I believe the ONLY reason he was portrayed as Superman in Crisis was because he was already there in Legends of T. He was convenient. And you’re right about certain things Superman’s character should stay away from in live action arenas. They may be able to touch on them in comics but it’s a whole different ball game in movies. As far as BR’s role in The Rookie. They could have gotten any actor to portray that role. For me I’ve grown past tied of the entertainment industry… Read more »

I can’t disagree on why they asked him to be Superman since he already had been working for them in his Atom role on Legends. It definitely was their best decision by far to do so. So glad that they gave Brandon another chance at the role, so that he wouldn’t be a one time Superman. Like I said with Superman and politics, I don’t think it’s a good idea to mix him with any politics. Not unless if its on something that the majority of people can agree on.
