While I did like tthis film, I don’t think that it should have won “ best superhero disk”. I would have liked to have seen the 40th anniversary of Superman the movie in 4K ultra HD disk win that title instead.

Still. A Superman related movie did win that title. So it’s still a win for Superman. And that’s what counts, and it’s still great news.

Hope it was better than War. Just watched that the other night on a lazy lark because it came up on Hulu and dear god all the heroes acted and sounded like kids trying way too hard to be “badass”. That’s even before Billy Batson shows up.

Yeah, DC movies , in general are trying to hard to be edgy. I want to share these with my kid, but because they are on this kick , I can’t. I watched War, which is basically new52 Justice League, and they added unnecessary cussing that wasn’t even in the comic, not even in grawlix form. Why, what are they trying to prove, who are they trying to impress. These are cartoons , they should be kid friendly.

I think it’s obvious they’ve been putting a “mature” spin on the last several of these animated movies. Calling them cartoons does to an extent makes them sound more as you put it, kid friendly. A lot of the adolescent kid friendly fluff is plentiful on the Cartoon Network. Have they gone over board? On some maybe with a little spicy language. But none have been as raunchy as Batman,The Killing Joke. I’m certainly no prude but that was the absolute worse as far as grossness. I miss the early days of these. Some of the stories and action across… Read more »

Too mature IMO. And the stuff on Cartoon Network is “Spongebob” levels of stupid. I won’t even let my kid watch that trash. And the art and animation on these movies has gone downhill, Grotesquely misproportioned and just plain bad looking. the CN stuff too, it’s all that goofy, silly looking style that I cannot stand, that’s not just the DC stuff either, seems like everything on CN is using that style. We need an in between, I want something that we can watch together, not everything has to be adults only or aimed at toddlers. Young Justice is the… Read more »

It’s actually much better than I expected. I thought I’d hate it, given that they just *had* to shoehorn their “New52-lite” universe into this, but I enjoyed it – which surprised the heck out of me.

And RoS is even better, imo.
