The CW has released a series of poster images promoting the importance of wearing a mask during the current COVID-19 pandemic.
The “Real Heroes Wear Masks” promotion sees Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), along with other characters from the DC superhero shows, wearing surgical masks.
Production on these TV shows has been shut down for months due to COVID-19 concerns, with the new “Superman and Lois” TV series reportedly set to begin filming in Vancouver in September. According to the Directors Guild of Canada’s Production List, filming for the entire first season of the show will take place between September 28, 2020 and April 1, 2021. While “Supergirl” will begin filming much later, mostly due to Melissa Benoist’s pregnancy.
Other posters in the “Real Heroes Wear Masks” promotion include The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’s White Canary and Beebo, Black Lightning, and Stargirl.
The definition of “heroes” is extremely loose these days, isn’t it?
Even thought the season doesn’t start until January 2021. I think this is great way for our real heroes to help younger kids what it like to wear a mask and I think The CW shows are do a good job in promoting Real Heteros Wear Masks” Posters. I hope there will more good stuff done the line.
I think that these posters help a bit in lifting up spirits. To see a message like this says that people do care for the health of others. I like that. 🙂
My first thought would be that under yellow sun they probably wouldn’t need to masks to protect themselves necessarily but I guess it’s possible they could still be carriers? So they would wear those masks to protect those around them .
Obviously the logistics of a fictional physiology is not the point of these just something that crossed my mind.

Besides from that, many of the world’s top epidemiologists say masks…DON’T WORK. But don’t expect CNN or even Fox News to cover that.
