Warner Bros. Entertainment has posted a video clip from James Gunn’s “Superman” movie in which Superman (David Corenswet) delivers his speech to Lex Luthor while Mr Terrific closes the portal. Superman talks about what makes him human.
When Superman gets drawn into conflicts at home and abroad, his actions are questioned, giving tech billionaire Lex Luthor the opportunity to get the Man of Steel out of the way for good. Will intrepid reporter Lois Lane and Superman’s four-legged companion, Krypto, be able to help him before it’s too late?
In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.
Buy or rent “Superman” on Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Plex and Amazon Prime, or pre-order your physical copy on 4K Ultra HD Steelbook + Digital, 4K, Blu-ray and DVD ahead of its release on September 23rd.

There is something oddly meta about this speech. It’s like Superman is breaking the fourth wall and lashing out at the public perception of him being this infallible god who always saves the day and never shows any emotion beyond eagerness to do the right thing.
