I wouldn’t want to play as a member of the Suicide Squad and fight my favorite character, as well as other members of the JL so it’s hard pass for me.
I really hope I’m wrong on this, but I’m getting the impression that Superman won’t be a playable characte, but instead will be the main antagonist that the players must beat to win the game. Again I really, really, really hope I’m wrong in this.
@Superman2878 – Exactly! This is my worry as well. As I said in my original post, Rocksteady has passed up multiple chances to give us a solo Superman game. But since most Rocksteady game developers are Batman fans (I saw a video on it years ago), they probably can’t wait to make Superman the antagonist so that each Suicide Squad member takes turns beating him up. I truly hope I’m wrong though.
Rocksteady Arkham’s universe is not an Injustice universe so most likely Superman or the JL could be mind controlled and Amanda Waller told to take them down. They could also be doing their take on Suicide Squad vs. Justice League run in New 52, in which both groups fight and then work together at the end. The JL won’t be killed, and there is the possibility that JL get’s recruited into the suicide squad at some point so we might be able to play as Superman. So I guess Rocksteady was *technically* making a Superman game, ay? 😛
I wonder how many people saw that poster and thought it was actually a Superman game before taking a closer look? Feels like a slight kick in the teeth to use Superman to promote the game when so many people hoped their next project was going to be an actual Superman game.
We the fandom will allow this as long as Superman is not reduced to the role of a jobber. In the absence of kryptonite, and apart perhaps from a challenge from Enchantress’ magic, Superman would wipe the floor with the Suicide Squad.
That was pretty much unexpected. Nevertheless I’m still open minded and will definitely give this game a try. My guess is that Superman and his JL buddies are not the bad guys per se but still the good guys and they are depicted as the bad guys from the bad guy’s POV because the bad guys are the good guys in the game . Which I think could be fun when you think about it.

I’m usually very optimistic. But honestly speaking, I won’t be surprised if Rocksteady’s version of Superman becomes a brainwashed-villain who gets beat up by Harley Quinn during the game.
