Filmmaker Steven Spielberg has inserted a prominent tribute to “Superman: The Movie” in his new film “Ready Player One”.
A new trailer for the film highlights a key moment in the film in which the virtual character operated by Wade “Parzival” Watts has to take up a disguise from Samantha “Art3mis” Cooke’s character, disguising himself as Clark Kent. John Williams’ iconic music is even heard briefly.
From filmmaker Steven Spielberg comes the science fiction action adventure “Ready Player One,” based on Ernest Cline’s bestseller of the same name, which has become a worldwide phenomenon. The film is set in 2045, with the world on the brink of chaos and collapse. But the people have found salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday. When Halliday dies, he leaves his immense fortune to the first person to find a digital Easter egg he has hidden somewhere in the OASIS, sparking a contest that grips the entire world. When an unlikely young hero named Wade Watts decides to join the contest, he is hurled into a breakneck, reality-bending treasure hunt through a fantastical universe of mystery, discovery and danger.
“Ready Player One” hits theaters on March 29, 2018.
That’s a nice tribute to Superman. I wonder if there will be any scenes where the main character appears as Superman at some point in the film.
I’d say it would most likely feature a Batman scenario than Superman. But a great tribute nonetheless.
I also like how they added the John Williams Superman theme. Very classy.
Very classy? It’s an 80’s nostalgia movie, one has to go with the other.
i read the book…i wouldn’t expect it
Wow! I didn’t expect Men Without Hat’s song Safety Dance. The video clip was so weird.
Back to topic, finally Spielberg has Clark Kent in one of his movies, he was so close to directing Superman: The Movie.
Oh! And the Iron Giant! Even Iron Giant is in the movie!!! The greatest animated “Superman” movie.
