I wish that this movie would be rereleased in theaters globally for the month of Superman’s 80th Birthday.

Yeah I would very much like to see this in the movie theater again. Especially if it could be shown at the Lyric which is an older theater in my area that’s been restored recently.

Incidentally I own a copy of that poster. I have a distinct memory from my childhood of when my parents took me to the theater to see the movie and I remember just staring at that poster while we were waiting in line.

This movie has a magical quality about it. Reeve as The Man of Steel, had this inspiring radiance about him. There wasn’t one flaw in his performance. It’s a movie I could watch over and over again and I’d never get tired of it. This wonderful piece of art. Seeing this version of the world’s greatest superhero is a classic treasure. A treasure that has touched many harts. The harts of fans. The fans of Superman.

Well I should have known that you’d give me a negative on my opinion on Superman the movie since you are not a fan of superman Lex. Negative if you agree that you are not a fan of Superman. I know I am a fan, but you seem to really not like Superman.

I see you’re reading my posts Lex. Hi! How are you? Give a positive for doing good, and a negative that you like being called Lex. You could stop giving me votes, but then that would mean I wouldn’t have a reason to call you Lex. So do I keep calling you Lex?

So I guess you don’t want to change your name huh Lex? Positive for yes, negative for no. Although I’m guessing you’re going to pick negative since Lex Luthor is your name and you don’t want to change it. Well I did say that if you decided not to give me any more votes I’d would stop calling you Lex. And apparently you like your name, so I guess Lex is what I call you. Feel free to change your mind Lex. I’m sure you can think of a better name for yourself Lex, because I can’t think of a… Read more »

As interesting as our conversations go Lex, I’m finding them to be one sided. So I’ve decided that this will be the last time I talk to you.
Yes I know that you will try to talk to me with the negative votes, but I find that I can only say so much to someone who says so little. So bye Lex!

Hey Mattcomics, how was the movie in the theatre? I never had the chance to see it in the theatres. It must have been amazing to see Superman the movie on the big screen.

Watching it at home is still awesome and everything but nothing really compares to theater experience because that’s what it was designed for. I still remember how much the whole opening bit where they zoom in on the comicbook and then into space drew me in. I think that’s the major difference. At home you watch it. In a theater you feel it. I also remember how excited I felt when that big red \S/ wooshed onto the screen and the Williams theme hits the note that says “Superman!” The flying sequences really and truly come to life on the… Read more »

I hope one day that they rerelease it in theaters. I don’t know if it will happen, but I believe that if it ever is rereleased there will be a lot of happy Superman fans including myself who would love to see this film on the big screen. That movie must have been a true wonder on the big screen. Again I hope to see it on the big screen one day.

Side note…….I think that this 144 minute version had 11 minutes edited back in. Some dialog with Jor-El, Luthor’s subway gauntlet and a few other extra scenes that I don’t remember. I can’t imagine what additional scenes that the 188 minute version features. It can get to a point that adding cutting room floor scenes back in might not make a movie better and can be quite distracting. Especially if there added just for the sake of adding them.
