“Superman: The Movie” Screening and Q&A at Planet Fantastic

Planet Fantastic are hosting a special “Superman: The Movie” event to celebrate the almost 40th anniversary of the 1978 film.

Featuring a special video introduction by director Richard Donner and “Superman Returns” director Bryan Singer, the screening of “Superman: The Movie” (to be held at 608 College Street, Toronto, Ontario) will also feature live Skype video Q&As with Jeff East (teenaged Clark Kent), Aaron Smolinksi (baby Kal-El) and Zoran Perisic (VFX process inventor for the film).

This event will take place on Sunday, August 27 from 6.30pm. Tickets are $12 online or $14 at the door.

I wish I could be there. Superman the movie is both my favorite movie and my favorite superhero movie. I’m also a fan of Superman Returns. True it wasn’t a perfect sequel to Superman the movie, but it was a very good movie and I believe it should have had some sequels and a team up with Bale’s Batman. Christopher Reeve is my favorite Superman, and Brandon Routh did a superb job in the role of Superman.
This is just my opinion.

I also think a justice league movie Staring Routh and Bale with Doomsday as a villain would’ve been cool too. And then a return story arch with just Superman facing off with Brainiac, Bizzaro, and Luthor. Maybe Luthor would’ve had a Krytonite powered suit to go toe to toe with the Man of Steel. I remember seeing an action figure of the Kevin Spacey Lex Luthor in kryptonite armor for the superman returns toy line back in 2006.The video game toy line version of that suit was very cool looking I thought. I do feel that there was a huge missed opportunity for a Superman and Batman movie back in the late 80s early 90s with Christopher Reeve as Superman and Michael Keaton as Batman. That movie would’ve been epic.

To have my favorite Superman
actor Christopher reeve, and my favorite Batman actor Michael Keaton in a Superman Batman movie would’ve been movie history.
