In the latest Superman Homepage Member Poll we asked you the following question:

Have you seen “Superman: The Movie” on the big screen?

A lot of you may be too young to have seen “Superman: The Movie” when it was first released in 1978, but the film has been shown again and again in theaters, especially in recent times with the film celebrating its 40th anniversary a few years ago. Sadly, 43% of people from this poll say they’ve only ever seen in movie on TV. Do yourself a favor… Next time the film is showing at a theater near you… GO SEE IT! It’s a whole different experience.

I concur with Steve here. Seeing the movie on the big screen is a lot of fun and is really the way it was meant to be presented.

I wish that I could see Superman the movie in a movie theatre. Unfortunately, there are no theaters near me. And even if there were, I’m still very hesitant about going to see a movie in a theatre do to the virus that’s going around. I think it’s going to be a long time before I even set foot into a theatre again unfortunately. It is a life goal of mine to one day see Superman the movie in a movie theatre. Hopefully I will someday.

Only seen it at home, I’m too young to have seen it in a theater and there hasn’t been another screening since then in my area.

I will say, though, I don’t mind this at all, as I highly doubt I would enjoy it any more in a theater. Films are a very personal and often exhausting experience for me, the theater experience makes me lose focus and the giant screen makes me miss details that I like picking up.

I saw the movie on the big screen as a kid (still upset that the projector screwed up during the fortress scene so it was black for several minutes) and 2 years ago saw it again at the theatre. I was lucky enough to see all the Christopher Reeve movies at the theatre (I saw Superman 4 at a drive-in which seems appropriate given the drop off in quality). The movies are what made me love Superman
