“Superman” Star David Corenswet GQ Interview

“Superman” star David Corenswet sat down with GQ where he breaks down everything he did to become James Gunn’s adaptation of Kal-El in the latest DC Studios cinematic universe installment. The American actor talks through every step of his journey to becoming Superman: from receiving the casting call during “Twisters” filming to gaining 45lbs before shooting.

David Corenswet also appears on the latest issue of GQ Hype magazine photographed by Noua Unu Studio and styled by Spencer Phipps.

In the cover story, Corenswet opens up about the weight of taking on the iconic role, revealing some surprising reservations about the casting. “A role like Superman seems like something that everybody would want, and that’s not true,” the actor candidly admits in the interview.

The 31-year-old actor, who will star in the upcoming DC Universe film “Superman”, also addresses concerns about typecasting. “Ultimately, what I landed on for myself was, if this is the only role I get to play for the rest of my life, and that means whether I get to play it once or get to play it 10 times”, he reflects on the potential career implications.

The magazine feature showcases Corenswet’s transformation into Hollywood’s next big star, cementing his status as the face of DC’s rebooted universe.
