DC Studios’ “Superman” has added another victory to its impressive year, landing among Google TV’s most-watched films of 2025. Google announced the recognition in its Best of 2025 collection, praising the film’s action-packed thrills as audiences watched the confident new Superman tackle power-hungry villains.
The streaming milestone caps off a remarkable theatrical run for James Gunn’s DC Universe reboot. The film crossed $300 million domestically in August, becoming the first DC movie to reach that threshold since “The Batman” in 2022. By late August, Superman had surpassed $600 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing superhero movie of 2025.
Starring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel alongside Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult, the film launched the new DC Universe with both critical acclaim and commercial strength. “Superman” holds an 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the highest for a Superman film since the Christopher Reeve classics.
As the year closes, Superman’s streaming success on Google TV reinforces its status as one of 2025’s defining blockbusters, giving DC Studios a powerful foundation for its cinematic future.
