EW.com has been given access to a deleted scene from “The Flash” episode of the “Elseworlds” crossover event. In the clip, which can be found as a bonus feature of “The Flash: The Complete Fifth Season” DVD and Blu-ray set, Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) races Oliver (Stephen Amell) around The Kent Farm in Smallville. At this point in the story Oliver has found himself in possession of Barry Allen’s super-speed, and hasn’t exactly mastered his new abilities.

“The Flash: The Complete Fifth Season” is available to order on Blu-ray and DVD from Amazon.com.

Nice scene. It’s interesting how a fun scene that is also respectful towards Superman and shows his dignity and leadership characteristics just so happened to be cut. Hmmmmm……

I sadly have to agree. Instead we get stuff like the really needless and awkward “favorite Kryptonian” thing at the end or Lois’s stupid statistics rant which was clearly just there for it’s own sake or having Ciscos reaction to Superman being “and you arrrre?” That’s before even getting into not letting him have hardly any standing in the battle. I don’t really understand it because when he first showed up I thought they did a good job. With all due respect to it being Kara’s show I don’t know why they feel that down playing or worse diminishing Superman… Read more »

Why didn’t they keep this in last year’s crossover? This scene was amazing! It showed us Clark as the guiding leader that he is meant to be. I so hope that in the upcoming crossover they give Superman another opportunity to show us his leadership skills.

Because many of the writers are part of this woke generation that wants to promote toxic feminism, gender so called fluidity, and hatred for America’s founding and wanton death of its culture.

This is the CW we are talking here (Communist and Woke!). As for the scene, to those saying it was an injustice for this to be a deleted scene…you are so spot on.

#ENDTOXICFEMINISM!

Okay, calm down a little bit. The show definitely has some lazy girl-power tropieness to it. But you sound like a nutter.

This is so cool and insightful. This never should have been a deleted scene.

I couldn’t stand Oliver as the Flash. For me this was a waste of time. As a matter of fact I’ve concluded that with the exception of seeing John Wesley Ship in costume I’ve found VERY little to appreciate about ANY of these cross overs.

I’m not going to lie. There were things in the previous crossover that I wasn’t happy about either, but I also thought that it did have some good things as well.

This absolutely should not have been cut. It makes Hoechlin’s Superman very endearing.

And this is what is so absolutely infuriating with the Arrowverse Superman: they get so much right. SO MUCH RIGHT…and then they do something completely boneheaded like “I’m afraid of losing, so I’m quitting.” which tanks all the good work they do. They clearly “get” the character on most levels. This scene is perfectly Superman. Shows wisdom, compassion, friendship, forward thinking, bit of sly wit, and willingness to help without needing any other motivation than “it’s going to benefit someone else in the long run.” No angst, no brooding, no negativity at all. And he’s not even wearing a cape.… Read more »

95% percent sounds about right. While I do like Tyler’s Superman,I can’t deny the faults in this version either. I just wish that they could let Superman be Superman. Save the day without help. It is what it is I guess.

I would love to see more of this kind of content. It’s a shame that this scene didn’t make it into the episode, but I’m glad to have seen it now. ^.^
