Foster Cats Productions is bringing the rarely seen musical “IT’S A BIRD… IT’S A PLANE… IT’S SUPERMAN!” to The Studio Collaborative at the Long Beach Playhouse in California for six performances across two weekends in February and March 2026.
This 1966 gem features the Man of Steel caught in a love triangle while battling both a vengeful scientist and an overly ambitious reporter threatening to expose his secret identity. Created by the Academy Award-winning writers behind “Bonnie and Clyde” and “Superman: The Movie” (1978), with music from the composer of “Annie” and “Bye Bye Birdie”, the show promises a hilariously unique take on Clark Kent’s double life.
Performances run February 20-22 and February 27-March 1, 2026, with evening shows at 8:00pm and matinees at 2:00pm on Sundays. Tickets are $35 (plus a $4 online service charge) and feature assigned seating. Note that The Studio Theater is located on the second floor and accessible by stairs only.
