“Superman & Lois” Renewed for Season 2

Renewed

After the great reception to the premiere episode of “Superman & Lois” last week, The CW today announced that they have renewed the TV series for a second season.

Mark Pedowitz, chairman and CEO of The CW Network, made the announcement today saying, “The phenomenal multiplatform debut of ‘Superman & Lois,’ which delivered for us in a big way on both a linear and streaming basis, is a testament to the creativity, hard work and dedication of the talented people who worked tirelessly in front of and behind the camera, especially in this challenging environment. We are thrilled to now have two brand-new bonafide hits in ‘Superman & Lois’ and ‘Walker,’ both of which have been renewed for next season along with 11 other of our shows, further positioning us for continued strength and stability for next season.”

I have a new theory about Jonathan getting powers at some point. I think he might get powers after being exposed to kryptonite at some point. I think back to what Brandon Routh’s Superman said about baby Jonathan and how he looked like his own son Jason.
Jason revealed his super strength only shortly after being exposed to Kryptonite that Lex Luthor had shown him for the kryptonite island in Superman Returns. I’m guessing that kryptonite was a trigger for his dormant powers, and will also be a trigger for Jonathan’s kryptonian powers to emerge as well.

I doubt Jonathan doesn’t have powers. The kid did cut a rope with a football. They might do it with Kryptonite or just wait to slowly reveal it to ramp up the stakes later.

What I’m wondering is whether or not they intend to give them different powers and blame it on the half-human DNA. They don’t even need to give them the full set of Superman’s powers, they can go the Connor route (who was also a human/Kryptonian DNA hybrid).

True. They could go in that direction. Give one kid heat vision and invulnerability and the other kid flight and super strength. Or something like that.

Jordan is actually Jor-El from the cancelled show Krypton. The Infinite Crisis hit that multiverse as well.

Or Jonathan is actually Jor-El because of the blonde hair.

Actually this series isn’t connected to Syfy’s Krypton series. Last year there was the Crisis crossover event which changed the history of the CW’s Superman and his family. At the start of Crisis and throughout the duration of events, Clark and Lois only had one son. Baby Jonathan. However, at the end of Crisis, the multiverse was restarted and so was the history of Clark and Lois. So now instead of having one baby boy named Jonathan, they have twin teenage boys named Jonathan and Jorden. I hope that this clears up any confusion. 🙂
