“Superman & Lois” High Episode Cost Revealed

Superman

The Hollywood Reported has revealed that the production cost for each episode of “Superman & Lois” is in the vicinity of $5 million.

The high price of producing “Superman & Lois” could put it in the firing line of The CW’s new owners Nexstar, who are looking to lower costs to make the network profitable.

However, James Gunn and co-CEO of DC Studios Peter Safran explained at a recent press event that “Superman & Lois” is “a show everybody likes, so it’s going to keep going for a little bit” giving an indication that it could go on for “one or two more seasons”.

Whether that means the show continues on the Nexstar-owned CW network or continues on after the upcoming third season at some other network, possibly HBO Max, remains to be seen.

Season 3 of “Superman & Lois” will premiere on The CW on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

The irony is not lost on me that we had a guy who’d refused to put on the suit and his show lasted 10 years… and now we have 2 actors who enjoy (enjoyed) playing the character and one was let go and the other my be on the chopping block …

Keep in mind that there really isn’t much going on next year in terms of DC content for movies and shows. As far as I’m aware of at least. They may decide to keep it… Read more »

“$5 million.”
And worth every penny. May it reach at the very least 5 seasons. If I had it my way, it would reach 10 seasons.

“Superman and Lois” is a well-done show. It makes sense that it costs a lot of money to make each episode. The next logical move would be to spend that money on BRAINIAC and have him face off against Superman. I think that would be money that is well-spent.
