Painter Tony Stafki from Walls of Art LLC revealed a Superman mural he was commissioned to paint on a garage door at a home in St. Paul, Minnesota.
“It’s a bird…it’s a plane…it’s…this week’s mural job! Just finished this fun Superman mural on a guy’s garage door in St. Paul, MN. This garage faces their back alley so perfect place for a fun mural.”
The Superman Homepage spoke with painter Tony Stafki, who tells us the mural took four days to paint. “The owner wanted Superman and the city of St. Paul, MN (where it’s located) so I combined them in this image of Superman breaking through the garage door with St. Paul in the background.”
“To fit his budget I went with the more 2D comic book look as opposed to a 3D photographic version.”
As for the process involved, Tony explains, “I free-handed the ‘break’ in the wall and the city and projected Superman (again to speed up time). I used commercial grade Sherwin Williams exterior paint and then topcoated it with UV blocking Dead Flat Varnish by Modern Masters.”
That looks great! Well done!
