I’m so glad this show is gonna be a thing soon. I was a bit shaky on Heochlin at first, but that’s changed over time.

Looking forward to it as well and hoping he’s handled better in Crisis and this series. I think they did well with him when they finally introduced him but then really dropped the ball by over-compensating for every character he was around during the last crossover. My hope is that they’ve learned from this and with it being his own series he’ll get to shine brighter.

It just proves that more people are willing to except Superman in a down graded weekly series that’ll be just like the rest and end up with another weekly soap opera drama series that we’re already witnessing. A well done Superman animated series would have more going for it. Besides, it’s time to move away from the burnt out Lois angle as well.

It would have been nice had supergirl (berlanti) not mines a bunch of Superman storylines. My only concern is that berlanti is creatively bankrupt

I’m really looking forward to this show. A TV show is a perfect vehicle to snag more Superman fans. And I for one am really excited to see a proper Superman show that shows an establish Superman and Lois doing their thing and raising their son.

Are the DC shows perfect… no. But some of the plots and things they do on these shows help keep some of the not so much comic book fans interested. I have heard the whole soap opera plots thrown around, and although I am not a big fan, and pretty obvious most people on this site are not big fans… a major part of the US population is. Look at how long Days Of Our Lives or as the World Turns has been on the air. I don’t know about you guys and gals, but I would love to see… Read more »

Excellent points sman1938. There are a lot of Superman comics that they could cover. Also, they have an excellent opportunity to create new stories as well. Maybe even create a whole new set of rogues for Superman to go up against.

Well there’s obviously a lot to consider when the obvious is staring one in the face. In this case, MONEY. The more of the stuff you’re fine with and the reasons for theses characters in the first place never revolved around domestication but actually being involved with certain environments and how they and their powers played into the story line(s). This has been manipulated by budgetary constraints that can’t keep up with certain story lines and have been replaced by cartoonish effects and personal relationships. There was a BIG reason why the first season of Supergirl on CBS was done… Read more »

Let me ask you this redcape, what if the series is good? I mean yeah, there’s always the possibility that it won’t be a success. Every movie or show has that same possibility of failure. And if it’s not good, and if it fails, then at least they tried. And if fails then it fails. I’m not denying that possibility. But,I for one don’t believe it will fail. I’m optimistic about it. That’s just my opinion. But I ask again what if it doesn’t fail?

Don’t miss-interpret my skepticism. I’m only going off of what’s been done so far. I’m not hoping for any failure or end up with some kind of, I told you so kind of environment. But I don’t possibly see how the context of a series like this can go any other way. To me, compared to theater movies,… lesser characters are more so adaptable to TV and all the constraints, especially when money is in play. I just absolutely do not want to see the Superman character downgraded to TV environments that’ll surly be applied. They’ve already done that with… Read more »

I’m not offended about what you said about the series. I didn’t take it as a diss. I understand that everyone has their own views and likes and preferences when it comes to Superman being on a tv series or movie series. And I didn’t take what you said about the series as wanting it to fail. I understand that you have some skepticism. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t have any skepticism. I was only wondering what your thoughts are on the possibility of the series being good. I admit that there’s a possibility of it being bad. That’s… Read more »

I just think the Superman character is much bigger than what a TV series can offer. If they do this series god knows how long, if ever, it’ll be before we’ll ever get a major motion picture again. Are you really willing to make that trade off??

I respect your opinion. 🙂 I don’t see it so much as a trade off really. I see it more like an expansion of the character for his growing history. That’s just how I see it though. I’m sure that Superman will have many more movies and tv shows throughout the years to come. It’s part of how he evolves. New interpretations will happen eventually. True some will be better than others and of course that depends on how the viewers feel on each interpretation of Superman. But as I have said before about the new series, it could go… Read more »

Let me clarify something that I said earlier since I don’t know if I explained myself well enough. I understand that the WB has this thing on Superman not being on tv and in the movies at the same time. Why they have it that way makes little sense to me since I believe that the audience would know the difference between the two. I understand that that’s a business thing that they have in place. What I was referring to was Superman’s growing history and evolution in every media. That being said, I have no problem with there being two… Read more »

I can’t wait for this show. I just hope that Superman is respected rather than thrown under the bus like he was in the finale of Supergirl season 2 and the first big cross over event. Another thing is, I’m sure this show will be kind of a soap opera because Superman and Lois will be parents. That’s fine, but I really hope to see classic villains like Parasite, Toyman, and Silver Banshee. Also, I hope we can see BRAINIAC from the Krypton TV show appear at least once as a villain on this show.

I wouldn’t hold your breath. If they don’t have the budget to do Supergirl the way it should be then why would any one think it’s going to change with this?

Brainiac!!!! Excellent idea!!!! I so want to see that version!!! 😀
Also Lex,Conduit, Eradicator, Massacre, Mongul, H’el, Rao, Savior, Bizzaro,Darkside, Imperiex, Zod, Metallo. There’s so many rogues from Superman’s history. This is so exciting!!!
